To use the PC-FX Mouse, follow the following easy steps:

  • First, make sure that the power to the PC-FX is turned off.
  • Next, plug the PC-FX Mouse into controller port 1.
  • Insert a PC-FX Mouse compatible game and turn on the system
  • You can use the mouse in the PC-FX system menus.  If the game doesn’t load automatically, click on the middle floating icon (“Play Game”).

With any trackball mouse, it is necessary to clean the roller ball assembly periodically so that the mouse can operate properly.  Follow the cleaning steps below to clean the PC-FX Mouse.

1. Use your fingernails to twist off the roller ball cover (turn counterclockwise).  Clean the cover inside and out with a damp paper towel

2. Take the ball out and clean it thoroughly - set aside to dry after you are finished.  Use canned air to shoot air into the mouse casing to remove dust and loose dirt (some should fly out).  Examine where the mouse ball normally sits and you will see 3 rollers.  These rollers will have caked on debris.  use a toothpick or pencil eraser to carefully scrape this debris off of each roller.  Be sure you clean the entire roller.

3. Replace the mouse ball and twist the cover back on (clockwise).
