NEC TurboGrafx-16

The NEC TurboGrafx-16 was the first 16-Bit system to be released in America. Made by NEC, the TurboGrafx-16 was the American version of the Japanese PC Engine (with slight changes). With these changes though, NEC created a controversy over the processing power being 8-Bit or 16-Bit that lasted years after.

This system was the first of it's kind to use credit card size game cartridges. The technology was very well developed and brought out, thus giving Nintendo a powerful contender in the early video game wars of the 80's.
