Thanks for the heads-up! I'm going to try to resist but if they move fast, I might be forced to snag a few batches.
Thanks MG. I bought a few sets. I'll let you know how they work out.
I bought some too. If they are anything like the last round, they are slightly stiffer than the OEM ones. HOWEVER, these are way better than the ones from China IMHO.
My son has been wrecking those on his small HuCard collection. So I need something that will hold up better to wear and tear, making these perfect.
Hi Guys, I started talking with the seller and he seems like a cool guy. Turns out he is an old school gamer who loves Turbo/PC-Engine. I invited him to come and join us on the forum. (Waiting for Aaron to approve).
That's cool, but $6.76 for 5 sleeve? Might be cheaper to buy a bunch of TV Sports games atleast then you get a spare case and Sleeve.
Be cool if the seller gave us a deal say 10 for $6.76. Sorry just thinking out loud.
Pretty cool, but a little expensive for me. I don't mind the Chinese card sleeves personally. Either way you go they're both not "official," right?
Guys he is in fact doing just that. Waiting for Aaron to approve his account. Be patient. =)
Yeah, I'd rather get more and maybe get a group discount. I know a good portion of my games (20+) have no sleeve.
Agreed Clash, I know he will do just that which is why I invited him. =)
I just bought 2 packs. I bought some of those Chinese jobs a while back, and they're sticking to the paint on the HuCards. So that's no good.
Chris

was not aware of this... hmm on second thought I may want some of these sleeves
I know when he comes on he will be willing to sell more bulk and directly at a cheaper rate. He mentioned this to me via eBay.

AWESOME, If he does that ill deff pick up some.
Well, I'm still glad that I nabbed some now, but if he does come on here and sell them at a discount, then I'll grab more. I only bought 10 of them on fleabay.
Chris
Got'em. They are great. i didn't realize quite how crummy some of my others were till comparing. They are slightly wider than the original but they work well.
I just got mine today. They are exactly as advertised. If he comes on here selling them, I will definitely buy more.
Chris
Just got mine too, I disagree, they are not wider then OEM sleeves at all unless you were comparing them to the chinese ones. I compared them to both OEM and the sleeves being sold a few years ago (the extra stiff ones) and they matched exactly. The quality of these are very very good. Not as flimsy as the OEM ones but not as stiff as the other ones. Will continue to buy many many more once he shows up. Thanks SeymorOnion!
I'd like to order these, but he won't ship to Canada :(
He did mention he would begin doing international. I will ask him again.
Hey, guys!
I'm glad to see the forums are back!
I plan to sell my Vinyl HuCard Sleeves, through my website, at a substantial discount, compared to my eBay listings.
I'll be selling them as 25-pack bundles, but before I can do that, I need to get some custom boxes made for the packaging, and for the shipping box.
I've been working with a local box maker, and they should be ready any day now.
I expect to get them Tomorrow, but I won't know for sure until I get the call from my box guy.
I'll post an update here when they are ready, as well as on my website, so if you subscribe to this thread, and have 'e-mail notification of new posts' turned on, you should be all set. 8)
Using prototype boxes made by my box guy, I've already figured out the domestic shipping costs of mailing one to four 25-packs to the contiguous 48 states, via USPS First Class (for 25 to 50 Sleeves) or USPS Priority (for 50 to 100 Sleeves) and have updated the site to reflect that.
Quote from: c0ldb33r on 11/06/2011, 12:08 AMI'd like to order these, but he won't ship to Canada :(
I do plan to open up sales to international customers, when I do the second run of sleeves.
I had to sink a significant amount of $ into the R&D and the tooling/dies for these sleeves, and the boxes, and because of that, I'm barely breaking even on this first run.
From what I've read, dealing with credit card fraud, from customers in other countries, can be somewhat of a nightmare.
I'll be better prepared to deal with the losses, financially, after I recover my investment in the first run.
In the meantime, international customers can probably buy extra sleeves from other members of this forum, if they open a WTB thread. ;)
Quote from: SMF on 11/02/2011, 04:54 PMThat's cool, but $6.76 for 5 sleeve? Might be cheaper to buy a bunch of TV Sports games.
At least then you get a spare case and Sleeve.
Be cool if the seller gave us a deal say 10 for $6.76. Sorry just thinking out loud.
Including Domestic Shipping, the prices-per-sleeve on my website will be:
25 Sleeves for 75 ¢ each.
50 Sleeves for 67 ¢ each. (This one is close to your suggested price of 10 for $6.76) 75 Sleeves for 62 ¢ each.
100 Sleeves for 58 ¢ each.
Once I get the boxes, I'm going to change my eBay listing for the 5-packs to 25-packs.
The 25-packs will still be cheaper to buy through my website, as there won't be any eBay Fees to deal with, but I digress...Anyway, what I'm getting at, is that ya'll can always sell any leftovers here through this forum, or even through eBay, as I'm going to stop selling quantities lower than 25.
That way, resellers can resell em at a competitive price, in lower quantities for people who don't need to buy in bulk, and make some $.
BTW, anyone that wants more than 100 sleeves should either PM or E-Mail me, so I can give a better shipping quote.
Also, I'll only be selling in multiples of 25, as it's much easier to keep track of my inventory that way. ;)

Are you talking about the credit card sleeves that were being sold on Ebay a while ago. I bought like 60 of them for 6.00 and have been using them on my trade games as well as my cheap loose games.
You guys, you know you can use the heavy duty Trading Card game protectors, right? They're all textured/rubbery/come in neat colors....!

Is that what you are talking about?
They look pretty thin, and don't have that extra flap that the HuCard sleeves do.

Welcome aboard. I wouldn't waste money on having custom packaging made - nobody here is gonna care whether or not they come in pretty boxes (heh, that sounds naughty).

Quote from: guest on 12/01/2011, 04:24 PMWelcome aboard. I wouldn't waste money on having custom packaging made - nobody here is gonna care whether or not they come in pretty boxes (heh, that sounds naughty).
Actually, it winds up being cheaper (for you all) for me to use the custom packaging, opposed to me just buying boxes at the supermarket.
Supermarkets, and the local box shops, markup their boxes at least 3 times what it costs to make them.
Also, I balanced the size-to-weight ratio in such a way, as to ensure that I can get the lowest possible shipping rates, while still protecting the integrity of the sleeves, as they travel through the postal system.
I did keep the packaging design simple though.
The Shipping Boxes themselves are a plain brown corrugated cardboard.
They are lightweight, but strong, especially in the corners of the box.
They can hold up to four 25-Packs.
The 25-Pack boxes are made out of a white cardstock; similar in thickness to the paper used to make a greeting card.
They have a single color print on two sides; a simple description of what's inside, in plain text.
They don't need to be very strong, because the shipping box will be more than enough to protect them.
When you take the costs-per-box, and divide it by the number of sleeves I'm putting in them, it winds up costing either a little less than 1 cent per sleeve, but no more than 3 cents per sleeve, depending on the # of 25 packs I put in a shipping container.
I can fit about 50 sleeves in a 'free' small flat rate box from the USPS, but that costs $5.00 to ship.
With my custom boxes, I can charge $2.60 for S&H for one 25-pack, or $4.35 for two of em.
Or, I could buy some bubble envelopes, or jam them in a standard paper envelope,
but the odds of them getting damaged, while en route, would be high.
Oh, by the way, I got the Shipping containers a little while ago.
5,400 of them. (I have to buy in bulk to get a decent price).
I just finished bringing them all inside.
Here's some photos of em, in their temporary resting place:
(https://web.archive.org/web/20190509183939im_/http://www.seymoronion.com/Avatars/3.jpg) (https://web.archive.org/web/20190509183941im_/http://www.seymoronion.com/Avatars/4.jpg) (https://web.archive.org/web/20190509183940im_/http://www.seymoronion.com/Avatars/5.jpg)
I'm going to put them up on some shelves tonight,
in the room I've set up to be my Shipping Department.
They are going to deliver the 25-Pack boxes tomorrow, (at least 5,000 of them)
and I'll finally be able to start selling the sleeves (which I bought in bulk as well)
through the website then.
When you bulk order custom stuff, like boxes, sleeves, or any plastics, most companies have a policy you have to agree to called "Overages and Underages".
Basically, they state that you agree to pay X up front, for Y amount of product,
and the actual Y amount they make, can vary by 10% more, or 10% less, than the desired quantity.
After they are done with the run, I pay for how many they actually wound up making, at an earlier agreed upon price-per-unit.
That way, I can lock in the price per unit for the Y Quantity's Bulk Rate, and only have to pay that much for each one.
So, if they make a little less than I wanted, it won't revert to the higher-priced, less than Y, price-per-unit cost.
Whew. I hope that made sense.
To be honest, it took a while for me to wrap my head around that one myself. :-k
I don't think I need any HuCard sleeves, but, for some bizarre reason, I want to buy new sleeves.
I do have some horribly yellowed sleeves that could be replaced...

These are different and better. Read my comments above.
This guy's sleeves are top of the line. Indistinguishable from the "real" thing at a glance.
I bought 10 of them a bunch of weeks back through eBay, but I need some more. Unfortunately, I don't need 25 more. I should probably have just waited.
Oh, well. Free endorsement.
As soon as you are ready to ship to Canada I would like to place an order.

Once I have a couple more product lines going, I plan to set up a newsletter; ie: learn how to. XD
Anyway, the 25-Pack Boxes are going to be delayed, for a few days, because my box maker has tons of orders to fill, and it is, apparently, the most popular custom box type that they sell.
The current estimate (from the box guy) is any day this week, before Saturday.
I'll let ya'll know when I actually do get em.
On a semi-related note...
As I was writing this post, the city inspector came by and, well, Inspected my new electric heater.
I had it installed last month.
This place used to have a Gas Heater, Stove, and Water Heater, but I changed them all to Electric for you guys.
I also removed all the Gas Pipes in the building in the summer, (after the Gas company came out and turned off the gas @_@) and capped em off.
I was worried that the smell they add to Natural Gas would get in my products, and didn't want that to happen.

I don't have any pictures of the prototypes for the HuCard trays just yet, but I can describe them.
The idea is to make a tray that will accommodate HuCards, and be designed to fit in any standard-sized single CD Jewel Case.
It will look very similar to a CD Tray, except that the center of the tray will have the four curved "L's" found in standard HuCard Trays, and a tab that will hold the card in place.
The design of the tab that holds the HuCard itself is not final yet, but I'm thinking about doing something similar to those tabs found in PS2 Game Cases, that hold the manual in place.
Whatever tab design I go with, will have to be short enough to not mess up, or obstruct, HuCard Manuals, and I also hope to position it in such a way, so that you can use it with an Arcade Card as well.
The Arcade Card is the one with the thicker part/lump, that's opposite the metal contacts, right?
Anyway, are there any other HuCards that have thick lumps on them?
I'm going to need to buy any weird, lumpy, HuCards I currently don't own, later on down the line, so I can test em' out, when it comes to the actual prototyping phase.
Any suggestions on what Lumply HuCards I need to put on my list, would be most helpful. :)
I need to sell roughly 120,000 HuCard Sleeves, in order to be able to raise enough funds to get the trays made, so it may take a while.
That's roughly 4,800 of the 25-Packs. :-s
I'm hoping that opening up sales to other countries (once I sell out of this first run) will help me reach that goal pretty fast, but I won't know until I try.
In the meantime, Sparky might want to spend some of his free time prototyping Rear Tray Inserts for every HuCard ever made,
so he'll be ready to print and sell em once I'm able to get the new trays made.
I wouldn't recommend he print them out en mass though, at least, not just yet, but instead wait until I'm able to get the trays made, as 120,000 sleeves are A LOT OF SLEEVES to sell...
I'll send him some pre-production samples of the trays for free, if he wants, once I get that far along, so he can test em out with his Rear Tray Artwork, if he decides to make it.
Once I have the pre-production samples in my hands, it will take at least two weeks for the trays to be mass produced. Probably longer.
It depends on how many I have to order, to achieve the quantity-discount sweet-spot.
I estimate that to be somewhere between 30,000 and 100,000 trays for the first run, including the mold cost.
The mold will cost anywhere from $15,000 USD to $ 100,000 USD, depending on multiple factors.
Ideally, I'd like the Mold Cost to work out to be one cent or less, when you divide it by the # of trays I make on the first run.
And, of course, I need to make sure the per-unit cost of the trays is as low as possible.
It's a tricky balancing act, especially since, like the Sleeves, I'm going to have the trays Made in America as well.
Actually, there's a local Injection Molding Plastics company here in Texas, about a 45 minute drive from my home, that I'm probably going to go with.
I've spoken with them a number of times, and showed them my sketches, and they seem confident that they'll be able to make them, no problem.
I only have rough estimates on prices to go by at this point though, and they are subject to change.
The mold itself will consist of two (or more) huge blocks of metal, and as you know, when you are dealing with that much metal, it's cost is determined by two main factors.
What metal it is, and what it's market value is.
Also, the metal I choose will determine how long it will last / how many trays I can make, before it wears out; it's another thing I have to take into consideration...
On a lighter note, I re-tasked my old PC Speakers, and have them throughout my warehouse, playing internet radio while I work.
What can I say...? It helps to keep me sane.
Lately I've been listening to either Anime NFO or Japan-A-Radio.

Yeah, it can get insanely expensive, if I make the wrong choices.
One of the factors I didn't mention, is how many jewel case trays that a single mold can make.
At a certain point, a mold can be too big, and not cost effective.

I suggest making 'em like the original trays. The little pegs that catch the HuCard sleeve (did ya make any sleeves with the holes?) could be omitted, as they're a bit of a pain and not really necessary; I've used hole-less sleeves on my Tennokoe Banks, and they haven't once made a break for it.
Quote from: SeymorOnion on 12/08/2011, 12:32 AMAnyway, are there any other HuCards that have thick lumps on them?
There's just four: Street Fighter II', Populous, Tennokoe Bank, and the aforementioned Arcade Card Pro (the Arcade Card Duo version is flat). I haven't scrutinized 'em side by side, but I believe they're identical in exterior dimensions.

It's because they have to do machine tooling to create the mold properly. The upside is once you do the mold, it costs next to nothing to make as many as you want.
I work with people sometimes who own a spincast machine to do miniatures ( www.armorcast.com )
They basically do the same thing. Pay tons for mold to be made, then pay nothing to start cranking out miniatures and selling them.
I was going to have them do HuCards, but the cost to make the card mold itself is way-too-expensive. It doesn't justify itself very well, especially because then using the right kind of plastic to make a sturdy card jacks the manufacture price up too.
So the whole thing is just a bad idea all around.
Jewel cases are more of the same. I wish SO the best of luck with this, but man, it's a steep mountain hes climbing here.
Still. I can believe it can get expensive, but $100 grand? Jesus. Someone, somewhere is making a shitload of dough.
Time to get into the mould-making business.
So how's the shipping to Canada thing looking???
Quote from: edojapan76 on 12/08/2011, 11:16 PMSo how's the shipping to Canada thing looking???
I've been looking into shipping to Canada, and it's pretty straightforward, that is, if I manually generate an invoice through PayPal, for each order.
In other words, I'll have to take Canadian Orders through this forum, for now.
I can start shipping to Canadians as early as tomorrow, in fact, as I plan to go by the post office anyway to drop off some orders from domestic customers.
All I need is a PM with the quantity desired (in multiples of 25 for the Sleeves)
and your Name, Shipping Address, and an e-mail account to send the invoice to.
I only accept PayPal at this time, and you should pay in Canadian Dollars.
I can ship by USPS First Class International.
It's the least expensive method, but can take up to two weeks to arrive.
Using this method means no brokerage fees, but I am gonna have to charge a bit more to cover the costs of converting Canadian dollars to USD.
It's not much, but my margins are so tight, I can't afford to absorb the costs of currency conversion myself, just yet..
Anyway, here's a price chart for Canadians:
--------------------------------------------------------
The Price
Quantity Per Sleeve Total Price
One 25-Pack ( 25 Sleeves) ($ 0.88 CAD) $ 21.88 CAD
Two 25-Packs ( 50 Sleeves) ($ 0.76 CAD) $ 37.98 CAD
Three 25-Packs ( 75 Sleeves) ($ 0.70 CAD) $ 52.46 CAD
Four 25-Packs (100 Sleeves) ($ 0.64 CAD) $ 63.32 CAD
--------------------------------------------------------USPS First Class International Shipping, and the Currency Conversion Fee, IS in included in these prices.

Sorry that took so long; apparently PayPal no longer lets you do First Class International Postage online anymore.
I had to get a Shipping Assistant app from the USPS, so I could fill out the postage stuff online, and print out a label, but I'll have to pay the postage in person.
I have a PayPal Debit Card tied to my Paypal Account, and the P.O. accepts that form of payment, so it's no big deal.
I'll just use it when I'm there. XD
I have shipped a few things to friends in Canada before, in the past, via USPS First Class International.
They all went pretty smoothly.

No worries here, I buy way to much stuff from US sellers & never had any problems with USPS. Canada post on the other hand... & don't even get me started on UPS!
Well here`s hoping I get my mail soon, it`s been over a week since I`ve seen the mailman, (stupid Christmas rush)

I live paycheck-to-paycheck, but mold-making is a hobby of mine.
An unintentional hobby, but still...
Just wanted to let ya'll know that I've opened up sales, through my website, to 22 countries:
United States (I live in the US of A, so it makes sense... XD)
Australia,
Belgium, Brazil,
Canada,
Finland, France,
Germany, Greece, Greenland,
Iceland, Ireland, Italy,
Japan,
Mexico,
South Korea,
Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway,
Poland, Philippines,
Spain, Sweden, Switzerland,
United Kingdom,
Vatican City,
Virgin Islands (British).
I'm still looking in to shipping to the UK. It shouldn't take long to open up that option.
EDIT:
UK and the Philippines were Added successfully.
My sleeves showed up in my mailbox on Saturday; these suckers are nearly identical to the originals and were shipped with lightning speed. Thanks, S.O.!

Just got my sleeves today- very high quality and worth every penny! I can't tell the difference between these and the originals.
Man, I am so tempted to pick some of these up, even though I have a ton of the really cheap ebay ones.
 It seems I've missed this thread.
Seymour, I will be contacting you about an order via PM. I have several cases that need huey-holders.
I saw your stuff on eBay and am glad I waited to find this thread.

Sounds like a plan.
By the way, I had to remove the international shipping options from my website, due to them interfering with domestic postage costs.
Any non-us customer can either buy them from the eBay Listing, or pm me for a quote.
It winds up being cheaper to place an international order through PM, than buying through eBay.
Domestic pricing remains the same, whether you buy from my website (also cheaper than eBay),
but I can give you a better deal on shipping if you need more than 100 sleeves, if ya order through a PM,
compared to both eBay and my website.
As with Canadian orders, I just need Quantity, your Name, Shipping Address, and an e-mail address to send a PayPal Invoice to.
If you have any special instructions, or just want some quotes, be sure to mention it in the PM. ~_^
I bought a set from the ebay listing awesome good quality and fast shipping :)
Ill be picking a box of 25in the next few days.
I actually bought 3 sets of 5. Very nice quality they are new :)

You should get them on, or before, Monday.
Most likely Saturday.
EDITED TO ADD:I had a bit of an issue with PayPal overcharging you for shipping, but I've corrected that issue, and refunded the overpayment.
I got my 100 today! :D
I haven't ordered the sleeves yet, but I did order a N64 off Seymore's site. Awesome shape, fast shipping. Very happy with my purchase. The system appears brand new, and the box is in pristine condition with all inserts and plastic wrapping.
Seymor is good peoples man, glad he joined us. Now I don't have to worry about sleeves at least. His kick major nuts.

I wasn't able to get to the post office today, but I will be there, Bright and Early, Tomorrow Morning, to drop off your sleeves.
You should have already received an email with the Delivery Confirmation Number, as I already have your sleeves Packed, and ready to go.
It should start showing activity tomorrow evening, because there can be a delay of 12 to 24 hours before the USPS updates their tracking info.
Speaking of the USPS, they are raising their rates on January 22'nd (it's on a Sunday).
On January 20'th (Friday), I'm going to have to raise my shipping fees so they'll match the new, higher rates.
The increase will be anywhere from a few cents to a few bucks, depending on Quantity, and whether it's
First Class, Normal Priority (My Outer Packaging), Priority Flat Rate (USPS Provided Packaging), or Domestic or International.
I'm not sure of the exact price increase just yet, as it's still subject to change by Congress, or the USPS itself, before Jan 22'nd, but I wanted to let ya'll know ahead of time.
I ya'll wanna read more about it, you can do so [
At This Link (http://about.usps.com/postal-bulletin/2011/pb22326/html/kit.htm)]
Since I print out my own shipping labels @ the warehouse with a Thermal Shipping Label Printer,
and use either eBay or PayPal's Online Postage Services, I am in the "Commercial Base Price" bracket.
I'm not in the "Plus" variant of Commercial Base just yet, though, as I need to hit a certain minimum # of monthly shipments before I can qualify for Plus.
Still, the regular Commercial Base that I have, has some decent savings.
I currently get Delivery Confirmation for free on Priority, but I have to pay for it when I use First Class.
First Class + DC is still cheaper then Priority, when shipping less than 50 Sleeves.
They charge me Nineteen Cents to add DC to First Class Parcels, but I think it is a small price to pay, for the added security of being able to confirm when it was accepted by the post office (when I drop it off) and when it is delivered (and by whom, in some cases).
Also, DC is mandatory, in order for me to be able to qualify for Seller Protection w/Paypal.
Anyway, if ya'll wanna try and figure out the new rates, before I make the changes to accommodate them, here's my packaging/shipping info:

Hey, guys.
I wanted to let ya'll know that I recently added International Shipping Support to my website, SeymorOnion.com (http://www.seymoronion.com), for the HuCard Sleeves.
Now everyone can have access to my Volume Discount pricing, and a wide range of Quantity Options.
And best of all, this means that International Customers no longer have to use eBay to order my HuCard Sleeves.
International Customers should use the Blue Cart Buttons.
Examples:
S&H is calculated on the fly in the Blue Shopping Cart.
It is based on Weight, Dimensions & Destination.
International Shipping only works for the HuCard Sleeves, due to a limitation of that cart's software (it won't let me limit the Availability of Items).
This isn't an issue for the Sleeves, as I have Tens of Thousands of them, and will reorder more whenever stock runs low.
However, the Games, Systems & Guides on my website, are all from my personal collection, meaning I only have 1 of each of those.
I'm selling them to help with the raising of $ to make the other products I have ideas for, such as the replacement HuCard Tray Inserts for CD-Jewel Cases.
So, if any of you international customers are also interested in buying some of my Games/Systems/Guides or Accessories,
you can to send me an e-mail (Chris@seymoronion.com), and ask for a Shipping Quote.
------------
Domestic Customers can also use the Blue Cart buttons, because I included "United States" as one of the Destination Options in that cart,
but only if they are buying HuCard Sleeves, and nothing else.
HuCard Sleeves can be purchased with either button color,
but you can't add any Games, Systems, Guides or other accessories to the Blue (International) Cart,
and the Green Buttons do not support International Shipping.
If Domestic Customers want to purchase any Games, Systems, Guides or other accessories,
be sure to use the Green Buttons, so ya'll can get the Combined Shipping Discounts,
and a single invoice that covers your entire purchase.
This also makes my job a little easier. 8)
I am still on the hunt for some Cart Software that has all of the features I desire, and doesn't require a masters degree in programming. #-o
Until then, I'm going to use this dual-cart approach, and handle International Game/Systems/Guides/Accessories Sales manually, via e-Mail & PayPal Invoices.
You send a box to SPAIN last week...to me!
kikesl on EBAY

Yeah, if these are the same ones I got a while back, they're basically indistinguishable from the "real" thing.
Bought a few items from the website... however, when I clicked on the "Turbografx 16 games & CDs for sale", it didn't work. Does this mean you're currently sold out of those items?
I ordered some of these HuCard sleeves, if they're as close to the originals as possible I'll be happy with them.

Yeah, I don't have any TG16 games for sale at the moment. Anything marked as "Sold" has been sold. XD
I leave the descriptions and pictures up on sold games and systems, so buyers can make sure that I include everything it comes with, when they get it. ~_^
I only have three TG16 games left: Gunboat, Keith Courage, and Dungeon Explorer. I don't have em up for sale, though, because I need them for testing out new batches of Sleeves, and for testing the HuCard Trays and Cases I'm planning on making in the future.
I have a lot of stuff for sale for other systems, though, and I still have tons of HuCard Sleeves.
I'm currently boxing up HuCard Sleeve Orders. All domestic orders made before this post will go out today,
but the two international orders will go out on Monday (April 9'th).
The postal worker that knows how to accept international parcels, that are postage-paid, doesn't work on Saturdays.
The one that works on Saturdays requires Eight Copies of the Customs forms for France and Canada, and that is NOT correct.
The rules clearly state that they only 1 need copy (well, two; one for the package, and one for the Post Office).
My shipping software knows all the rules, and only prints out as many copies as are required. I double checked. I called.
I don't know what her problem is, but the higher-ups say they're looking in to it.
Long story short, until she gets retrained, or fired, there will be no Saturday drop-offs for International Orders.
However, that won't stop me from boxing them up early.
My shipping software lets me define the date for drop-off, as I purchase postage, and fill out customs forms.
Hi Seymor, I purchased a box of 25 hu sleeves recently. I can't say anything that hasn't already been said, I can only repeat their praise. Your sleeves are perfect.
I originally only purchased 25 figuring I would just re-use sleeves and replace the ones that really needed replacing (torn, yellowed). As I purchase more and more hu cards I'm finding that a lot of sellers I'm dealing with (not all) have sleeves in good condition, but they're full of cat hair, carpet dander and God knows what else which I formally have dubbed "the crud". Normally this kind of thing doesn't bother me and I'd just rinse them in some water and use them again, but for some reason these instances are grossing me out. I find I'm replacing the majority of the sleeves with yours. Long story short, I'll probably order another 3 boxes of 25, or maybe even a box of a hundy from you. My last purchase was through your website, do you prefer this method or can I just work things out in a PM with you?
Lastly, I am also interested in your OGC-HuCard-Tray, I've read all the back posts but I was wondering if there have been any new updates you could share with us.
Thank you!
Whoah cool, good resource to have.
I've seen 99 cent wallets that came with credit card holders that would be perfect as hucard sleeves. As someone else said, if we're going with unofficial, "whatever works" sorts of sleeves, there's no reason to gouged.

I prefer receiving orders through the website, as it makes the accounting, and record keeping, a lot easier. XD
The Trays are on hold, while I save up funds to start production on them.
The current stage of Development for them consists of a lot of hand-drawings (at a scale of 1:1) on graph paper, and several prototypes made of cardboard and duct tape.
I'd post pictures of them, but it would be pretty sad. #-o
However, my current prototypes, cheesy as they look, were a necessary step.
They helped me to refine, and simplify, my design, and I used them to make sure that the end result won't put any undue stresses on, or poke into, the Game Manuals.
When I get to the stage where I'm able to get my design converted into a professional CAD File,
I'll take, and post, some pictures of Tray Prototypes made with a 3D Printer.
As soon as I have any news about them, I'll be sure to post it here, and on
Twitter (https://twitter.com/#!/SeymorOnion).

As someone else said, if we're going with unofficial, "whatever works" sorts of sleeves, there's no reason to gouged.
To be fair, If you got 5 Credit Card Holder flaps with a 99 cent wallet, and sales tax was 8.25%, that would roughly be about 21 or 22 cents per sleeve. That is a definite savings, if all ya care about is bang for the buck, as I charge from 45 cents to 65 cents, depending on quantity purchased.
However, my sleeves are near-perfect replicas of the OEM Sleeves.
The $ I make from selling them is going towards continuing to have the Sleeves Manufactured, as well as making the HuCard Trays, and other types of Game Cases, and many other various accessories for vintage gaming consoles. 8)
I will say this, though. After everyone gets their cut (USPS, Stamps.com, PayPal, eBay, my Cart Software/Service, the Website Hosting Company I use, the State of Texas, and the US Government)
and after all shipping supplies are accounted for (Boxes, Peanuts, Tape, Self-Adhesive Shipping Labels, Laser Printer Toner)
I am not even doubling my initial investment.
I
am breaking even, however, plus there's a little extra $ earned.
In other words, the little extra left over goes towards new product development, but the break even $ goes towards doing additional runs of the sleeves.
Lemme put it another way... When I restock, I order
at least 30,000 Sleeves,
and
at least 1,200 *25-Pack Boxes,
and
at least 1,200 *Shipping Boxes (Supports up to Four 25-Packs),
and
at least 1,200 *Shipping Envelopes (Supports up to 20 Loose HuCard Sleeves),
and tons of Tape and Peanuts.
It costs me over
Ten Grand, every time I do that.
I understand that as the sole manufacturer of the HuCard Sleeves, I have a great responsibility to not overcharge, or price gouge. I am doing my best. I'm not in this to make money, per se, but I need to make
some money, or I won't be able to afford the R&D for other products, nor would I be able to afford to continue making the Sleeves. :b
*Actually, I have to buy the Boxes & Envelopes in sets of 5,000 each, in order to keep prices low.The best advice I can give to potential customers, is to recommend not ordering my sleeves through eBay, as they are marked-up to cover eBay's exorbitant fees.
Instead, stick to ordering through
The Website (http://www.seymoronion.com).
However, if you are a Texan, and want to order at least 250 Sleeves, because ya plan on reselling them, then shoot me an e-mail, or a PM, for information about Texan Reseller Sales Tax Exemption.

Thanks for the suggestion for setting up a PayPal Donate button.
I've seen it on the PayPal Website, but I haven't yet read it's terms.
I have been hesitant to accept donations, from the get-go, but HuCard Sleeve sales have been steadily slowing since the first quarter of this year.
In addition to that, most game collectors already have most, if not all, of the games I have up for sale.
As soon as I click "Post", I'm going to start reading the PayPal Donate Button's TOS.

Thanks for posting about it over on trophiesonpsn.com.
I extended the deadline shortly after reading your post here, about it, so anyone there that might be interested wouldn't get scared off.
Also, I have to appear for Jury Duty on Monday, June 4'th, and that's cutting things a little too close for me.
My luck, I'll actually get picked, possibly even sequestered, and couldn't award the winner in a timely manner. O_o
I'm gonna take a closer look @ my website, and try and make the Donate-Linkage more prominent.
I'll start by separating it out from the Green Menu, and making several button designs for it.
I'm not much of a Graphics Artist, but Buttons, I can do. :P
If you want to get out of jury duty just twitch every now and again, or shoo at a fly that doesn't exist.
Thanks for extending the deadline. I hope you get a few additional entries out of my post. That reminds me, I need to make a donation to your cause.
I have bought to lots of the leaves in packs of 15 and have to say they are perfect and will be ordering more.
I wasn't picked.
It's kind of too bad, as they said the trial would only take a few days, and be held in the evenings.
That would have given me more than enough time, in the mornings, to drop off international orders @ the post office (they make ya do that in person).
They released us fairly late in the evening yesterday, after the post office was closed.
I just got up, and will be filling all of the Weekend (and Yesterday's) orders this morning.
Those suggestions of yours, to get outta Jury Duty, were eerily prophetic.
There were a couple of fruit flies bugging me, and I did swat at a few, and when they happened to land on my skin, I twitched. @_@
Even stranger is that I didn't see any of the other potential jurors pay any attention to them.
It's like only I saw them! Near the end, though, the Judge did apologize to us for having to spend so much time at the courthouse today, and for putting up with the fruit flies, so as it turns out, I wasn't really loosing my mind after all...
Thanks for the donations, guys! I've made plans to go out next weekend (June 9'th), and it'll be a perfect opportunity to take the photos.
Great stuff. Is it true that citizens of the U.S.A. are not compensated for jury duty?
I'm looking forward to the photos. Will you be posting them here?
[EDIT] I received my sleeves today. Very fast shipping. Thanks again Seymor!

O we get compensated, I for one enjoy jury duty when its an interesting case. The few times I had to go they lasted a week and the courts paid for everything even got to put a man in prison for forging federal docs. It was cool cause we got to examine each counterfit document. But back on subject, You do get paid and (my company anyway) If you give them the jury check they will give you your normal 40 hr week paycheck.

I'll send them via e-mail, but you can post them here if ya want.
Some companies do pay employees their regular salary when they serve Jury Duty, but some do not.
It depends on the State and County you live in, and whether or not one is a sole proprietor of their business.
Those who don't qualify, or don't work for the man, but is the man themself, will have to settle for only 5 to 100 dollars a day.
In Texas, in my County, they pay about ten bucks for the first day.
Starting on the Second Day, the pay is increased to about 40 dollars per day.
They mail you a check, about
four weeks after your Jury Duty ends.

Sounds like a big kick in the teeth... "Here's your cheque for $120. Thanks for serving your country"
I don't think it's any better in Canada. I honestly don't know. I don't know anyone that has every been called for jury duty.
Photo Sent!
If you happen to post it here...
The first person to recognize my T-Shirt, and post what it's text says, wins +10,000 imaginary Bonus Points! :D
Hint 1: It's two sentences are partially obscured by my Green Shirt.
Hint 2: The blurred-out company logo on my hat, has nothing to do with it.
The image you sent me is 1" x 1". There's no way my aging eyes will ever decipher your t-shirt. :)

These look great!
I'll definitely have to order some in the near future.
Yay now i can protect my hueys
Wow! These look great! I don't know how I missed this thread but I've been suffering with yellowed sleeves for way too long. I'll put an order in on the website later this week.
I'll be ready!
I still have tens of thousands of HuCard Sleeves in stock. 8)
Received my order in the other day. Fantastic stuff! Thanks! :D
I ordered some sleeves and other items earlier in the week.
The sleeves are well done. Chris was very polite and helpful throughout the whole process, and his shipping was fast and packaged really well.
I plan on ordering from him again in the future, but just wanted to say seven thumbs up support this guy he is doing good things.
Just placed an order for 15 HuCard sleeves and a few games. Thanks!
Thanks, you guys.
I'll send out tpivette's GC games, and Sleeves, first thing, Monday morning.
Glad to see this page still going! I saw the comment about this not being prominent enough so question for Mods and Chris to decide:
Can we either improve the first post of this thread to better organize the purchase flow (by providing a direct link to the sleeves page and add some of the photos from your site) AND sticky it, OR Chris creates a new thread with the same result and sticky it (thus locking this thread). I am cool with whatever Chris and Mods are cool with. Thanks!
I'm cool with either method.
I'm a little busy right now, but I can post the following real quick:
Here is a direct link to where the Sleeves are being sold:

I'll have more free time later tonight, or tomorrow.
I'm currently helping my folks clean up their place.
Updated. Thanks!
Sorry to double post...
I finished early!
So, now I can put some quality time into creating a New Thread. 8)
I really should have done this sooner. :-k
Anyway, as soon as I finish the New Thread, I'll either
edit this post and put a link to the new thread, or
if this thread has replies, I'll go ahead and make a new post with the linkage.
Either way, I'll still respond to any posts on this thread too, unless the admins lock it or something.
The OP can lock this thread once you have yours posted. :)
Here's a link to the new thread:

Thanks, MotherGunner, for starting this thread for me last year, during the weird downtime of this website, and keeping up with the changes.
Awesome! Locking the thread now. =)
