Ok, so I have been looking on Craiglists for some TurboGrafx games, but no one has any. I see all consoles but TG16, whats the deal? They are so hard to find. Is there a keyword to input?
no, it's just an obscure system to many people. I got lucky and randomly saw a TG16 bundle a few months ago.
Well, I will keep looking, maybe someone will have something they may want to get rid of.

It also depends where you live, they were fairly popular in some regions of the US and apparently almost non-existent in others.
I use http://www.ifttt.com to automatically notify me if any turbo stuff hits my local Craigslist. Otherwise you'll spend hours finding nothing.
Turbo is a pain to search on CL because people misspell it. You have to look up turbografx turbo grafx turbographics turbo graphics turbopraphfixsx16.........
I like Craigslist - those who never experienced the frustration of looking for Turbo games in the Nineties can still get a little taste of it.
Yeah, I saw this guy posted a TG in my neighborhood.
http://wausau.craigslist.org/vgm/3034061654.html
I sent him an email asking what games. If it's the usual (Ninja Spirit, KC, TV Sports) he can go smoke a pipe. But if it's three copies of Magical Chase...... ;)
Probably not.....
Lets see if I ever get a response.
here's one by me http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/vgm/3044034389.html

True. Don't forget turbo graffx. This one got results and I ended up with a TG-CD because of it. :)
What I really hate is when people use TG-16. It's one I always forget to search.
Yeah it does seem is some regions TG16 was non existent, I asked around at work at least eight different people if they have ever heard of TG16 or Turbo Duo they said "What is that, I have heard of Nintendo".
Thanks for the website http://www.ifttt.com I will look into that, has it helped you any?
Found this locally:
link removed, Sadler's paranoidQuoteTurbografx 16 Upright cabinet $ 100 AS-IS (working cabinet. Single Player layout control panel. JAMMA connector was removed with Turbografx board; but a new harness could be installed with little trouble. Monitor in great shape. No bezel. Has Turbografx 16 artwork on control panel/marquee unit)
Wow, are you going to get it? In my area there is nothing, nada, zippo. I would like to see what it looks like.
I'd like to pick it up and $100 doesn't seem too bad. We'll see if it's still available...

Wow that's crazy, I bet that cabinet goes with something like that JAMMA Turbo that BlueBMW picked up a couple of months ago. If you do meet up with the dude I'd love to see pics. Heck if you need some extra manpower to move it shoot me a PM and let me know.

I will for sure post pics if I can get it! :D I might take you up on the man power too! :D I just hope the guy responds, I've seriously never gotten a response from someone on craigslist. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.
Yeah try to get some PICS. Good luck.
Just heard back from him, he's still got it. :D Gonna try to pick it up this weekend...
I got lucky last year, finding a Turbo-Duo (CIB) for a great price... you'd be surprised what you can stumble upon if you're patient... Sadler, hope you get that set-up... i'd love to see some pics!

Isn't there a thread about that sort of experience on Fighting Street right now?
People like to combine threads and moan about this or that in other unrelated threads.
My comment was on topic. The Fighting Street thread is Alex fussing about sellers renegotiating their asking price for MC. This thread is about why TG16 games are scarce on Craiglist. My point was that TG games, even common ones, are quiet rare compared to their NES/Genesis contemporaries. Many stores never carried TG games and finding a couple of orange-spine Turbochips at a garage sale or thrift store in the Nineties was an incredible stroke of luck. Modern gamers don't understand that. To them the TG is just another search on ebay. Then they go on Craigslist and wonder why games are so scarce in the wild. A reality check is a good thing once in a while.

I remember waiting for people to put up for sale messages on the Turbo list and racing to reply before someone else bought up their stuff. That was 90s shopping for Turbo games for me (at least the later part of the 90s).

OK, I used the http://www.ifttt.com link, hopefully I hear something soon, thank for the information.

Seems to high to me.
I agree. High, but not ebay high. :)
None of those games are particularly pricey, but I have to admit, those magazines and books do sweeten the pot. (I have the books, but have long since gotten rid of the magazines. Stupid me.)
Thats not bad considering how complete everything is, as long as the condition is good. Its not a great deal either and lots are supposed to offer a noticeable discount compared to individual values. If someone is starting out and insists on having Turbo stuff and complete games then it would be worth inspecting in person.
Not bad, looking back on it I kick myself for not picking up a super sweet batch of Turbo stuff that was local to me like a year ago. It was like $500 as well but included things like a US 3.0 System Card, DE II, Exile 2 and other goodies. I thought the price was too high for the time, and it kind of was, but looking at prices now it would have been a steal.
Agreed on the price not being all that bad, and it's possible it'd sell for less. Craigslist = haggle like a mo-fo!
It is harder to find anything TG-16 on Craigslist, Ive only seen 5 listings in the last 6-8 months, including the ones Syphic was able to pick up. I got lucky and picked up one system with a couple of games.
Congrats on the system purchase. Sadly it seems like most of the tg stuff now just makes it's way to ebay.
very true, I do find every now and then someone selling games, usually Hucards only but they want the same price as if it was CIB, that and they are usually in other states, lol.
