Title: Turbo Duo A/V Cable
Post by: Jared4781 on 01/05/2006, 08:40 PM
hey everyone ... just wanted to know if anyone knew of a good A/V cable to use with the Duo. My original one crapped out on me and I purchased one from Turbo Zone, however the one they sell fits loosely into the A/V socket and I have to position it just right so that the picture and sound don't scramble. Anyone have any luck from any other place?

Hmm send it to, D-lite i guess and have him add RCA jacks.

yea a year or so ago, I picked up a pair from tzd, and they sucked, terrible cracking sounds while the game was on, and I had to fiddle with it to get the picture on.
After getting this, I went back to my original ones and cut the tips off and rewired them through SNES AV's and now they work PERFECT.

what exactly is wrong with your original set of AV's?

Just buy a DIN to RCA cable like this-

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-5-PIN-DIN-TO-4-RCA-PLUGS-STEREO-AUDIO-CABLE_W0QQitemZ5850381506QQcategoryZ33205QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

They work great and can produce a better picture than an old moldy Duo cable.

If you can find them locally, pick the fattest one you can find. I once bought one from Radio Shack that was super tight and the RCA lines were female so I could use any length RCA cable to hook it up.

I've since order several at different lengths, depending on where I'm using my Turbo Duo(my Duo RX is fully D-Lite modded).

I threw my duo cables away ... I was not getting any picture or sound from them.

Have you tested them out? People have been selling garbage cables of this model for years.

Got one of these a while back:

Pretty beefy, maybe even snagged from original systems

It could be that your din plug inside your system has come loose. I have seen this happen quite a bit but mainly on duo-r systems. Anyone with a soldering iron should be able to re-solder the port for you since the connections are pretty large.

No, the problem is the cable. The ones TZD sold towards the end were really crappy.
