Title: IFU Transistor?
Post by: NichlasEk on 03/04/2017, 12:11 PM
I got a smokers ifu with core grafx and a super cd drive.
I took everything apart and washed it.

Hooked up a rgb amp and tried with the pc engine hue card side. All was well.

Put the black top on and had to push to get the clips on

All is not well.... no power. Opened it up. And the damn mosfet/transistor next to the 7805 was crushed on the grey plastic post. IDIOT!

Anyone have an idea of waht to replace the transistor with.

They have writing on them. It's quite possible the original will be out of production but there will likely be literally hundreds if not thousands of compatible ones which you can verify online...somewhere.

It is a NEC C2275. You should be able to find one fairly easily online now.

How did you crush it? That must have been a lot of force used to get that back part clipped on. Lol

I went with the TIP29C. Seems to be working fine.
Now to get that laser calibrated/changed. Leaning toward a change.
