How is this annoying exactly? It is only 600pix wide and 150pix high. The old banner from before the SMF days was WAY larger.
My thoughts the first time I noticed it: "Hey the banner's been changed (I think). Looks good." I then moved on with my so-called life. What's so annoying? Do you hate Zonk? :?

As I commented in another thread, I like the new banner. The only thing disconcerting about it is all the "white space" on the left but I have a feeling that will change. I keep looking up and expecting something to be there.

Man, I'd shoot myself if I had to work at 800x600! I can barely stand 1024x768...1280x1024 is my min at work, but I always work with 2 or more monitors (at work and at home) so that I have lots of desktop to use.
I like the new banner. Perhaps a bit empty on the left, but oh well. A simple, darker blue horizontal stripe in the vertical middle might fix that. My resolution is also 1680x1050 (you have to prove that you are awesome before being able to achieve that resolution).

The emptiness is caused by your resolution. About half of the page is empty for me and I am using 720p. I think it's neat with the emptiness though.

By the way, I get lots of emptiness too for the banner even after setting my resolution really high. Probably the web browser (using Opera now) but like Seldane said, I think the emptiness looks cool :) .

Naw, Opera pretty much blows. At least for people who are aware of the TRUE POWER of Firefox (extremely useful plugins, tons of them. Use them all- now). Plus, Opera is slower and has a bunch of annoying "features" that makes browsing that much harder. At least it is better than Internet Explorer. But then again, everything is. Even Netscape (shiver).

I disagree. I used to use Firefox (Thunder Bird back in the day) for years but I recently switched to Opera last March (I think) becaues Firefox was running too slow on my computer for some reason at that time. I think it will run fine now, but I've learned to take a big liking to Opera since it's pretty much the same thing. Plug-ins are silly and I never use them and I don't really know of these features you speak of since I just use web browsers for, well, WEB BROWSING :) . Really it's pretty damn stupid to praise Firefox and diss Opera and vice versa.
I like the new banner, but what game is the generic anime/manga chick in the middle supposed to represent? It could be from anything, which is why anime/manga characters are usually a bad idea since they all look alike. You should put Johnny Turbo in the middle.

I'm viewing in a 1600 res. The old banner looked fine, just seemed a bit too tall (shrink air zonk a bit) for the text inside. This banner is also decent, if you can find the space, throw a few more PCE/TG characters in there!
Keranu: Plugins are far from silly. At least if you're using your browser for MEGA-BROWSING, which is far superior.

I realized the banner was too large. Together with the useless white HELLO space, it actually took up 50% of the screen. I had to remove the banner altogether. Adblock Plus, how I love it. :) I'd advice doing something about this. Removing the HELLO space, for example, and hopefully reducing the size of the new banner.

OK, so the DOTB 1&2 cover didn't mix the covers the way I wanted it, so I masked the hand from DOTB2 and put it on the pic of the robot dude from DOTB1.

What is the deal with the anti-anime style rhetoric with so many people on this site? %90 of all NEC stuff looks like it came straight form the pages of New Type in the first place. Shit, digital comics pretty much are anime. Toilet Kids is like like a Crayon Shin-chan Gaiden.
