Title: 07.05.07 - Minor forum changes
Post by: PCEngineFX on 07/05/2007, 06:17 PM
Hello all,

Just wanted to notify everyone of some minor forum changes:

- New banner!  Finally, we are getting rid of the old boring standard "SMF" default banner.  The banner is still not finalized as of yet, but am experimenting with placement and size.  As it stands, the banner will probably sit centered on the header at least 600pix wide and 150pix tall.

- New option in your personal settings: "Receive forum announcements and important notifications by email."
We will now primarily use the forum PM system to notify users of updates to the Pcenginefx Network.  You can expect at least one email a month on average unless there is something special going on.  If you do not wish to be notified of updates (why not?) then you can go to your profile under "Notifications and Email" and uncheck "Receive forum announcements and important notifications by email."

Only a loser wouldn't want to hear about important updates by e-mail!

BTW, I was going to comment on the new banner. I like the design you've got going so far, but there is a lot of empty space on the left. I imagine this will change as the banner moves out of the "beta test" phase.

Yah, I will most likely be moving the banner to the middle and making it a little bit wider.  I just took the old banner design and ported it to this design for testing.  The final banner design will be much more "epic".

Ya, I was posting and then I was like wtf? Then I was like wow, cool, a new layout.

I like the banner pushed to one side rather than centered, but the console icons need to move.  Or was it intentional to have Zonk elbowing the Shuttle?  :)

Yah, like I said...it's just a "beta" image...

Yes, that's exactly what I thought. "This new banner is nice, but it needs more... epic." ;)

Hasn't this option always been available? Maybe I am confused with website updates.
