The SuperGrafx was a failed attempt to bring out a new system based on the original PC Engine. The system was more advanced than the original PC Engine, boasting a more powerful graphic
chipset, but after just a short release of the SuperGrafx, NEC stopped production. With a very limited number of games released for it, gamers wanted more. The SuperGrafx could not only play the games made
for it, but PC Engine
titles also--that was just one attraction gamers had towards the SuperGrafx besides the more advanced titles the SG had to offer.
The SuperGrafx is now a collectors item, being wanted by gamers not
only in Japan, but in America as well. |
