Like my other video, but I'm wearing a black shirt in this one.

Here I am performing the PC Engine game Ginga Fukei Densetsu: Sapphire's Stage 1 music.  Much like my other Sapphire video.  This one was actually harder, but it's still fun.  Sorry about the intro being off camera, but who cares about that part anyway, right?

Short answer:  I just figured this out tonight in a couple hours.. so I in my excitement I posted what I had, figuring out de uberbest part will take lots of time.   But I figure I can make some people smile with what i got.

Hello all!!  Its been quite some time since I've posted on here... But let me give you a little update.  I've been mostly working and playing video games....  and now, a video for you Sapphire lovers.

This is me performing the PC Engine game Ginga Fukei Densetsu: Sapphire, Stage 2 music on guitar.  The whole soundtrack for this game rocks, but stage 2 music is one of my personal favorites from the game.   I recorded the guitar audio through my computer directly and played along with the acutal tack, so the audio is really clean.  I love this game and its soundtrack.  I may end up doing more of them in the future.  Also if you notice I obviously avoid the extreme vibrato parts (in the intro and second section)  this is because they are very difficult without a whammy bar, which my guitar does not have.  I could try to do some extreme bending, but Id rather save my fingers.  I might get out one of my other guitars that does have a whammy and do those parts with it sometime.  But its really only 2 little parts I pass over.

lets also consider that fact many of his auctions are PRIVATE auctions, and his most recent NON-private auction was a spindle of CDrs he bought.  i find that hilarious.

I guess you could say im new to the turbo AGAIN.   I played TG way back in the day with my geek friends. and then just a few years ago i had a nice TG collection of 3 systems, 1 cd system, lots of games.. it was good times, but then i sold them because i was a poor (STUPID) man.  But now that I have more money, i can get it rolling again, (and keep it this time).  

aside from the turbo stuff, im also rounding in some random PCE games too.

Its ok... Its fun.  I have alot of really good memories playing it, thats probably why i like it so much.

The plot is kind of quirky, becuase you actually play the role of Tully (the lawyer from the film) and the whole point is you are trying to steal the Addam's fortune.   Fun and simple gameplay, but its not the character you'd expect to take control of. =P

yea tzd was on my mind for the manual..   Seeing as I want these not only for good play value, but also nostalgic collection purposes, the manual will be  a must.  

I plan on buying alot of fun Tg16/PCE items, so i will keep you all updated on whatever good stuff i get!  



It is my first one (again, even tho i have owned 3 at one time in the past   )    And I plan on getting a couple more, and with the TurboCD attachment.    I have alot of fond memories of the Addam's Family CD game.   /shrug

I've been watching many TG16/PCE Auctions on eBay.  (For both systems and games)  And I think this is one of the best deals I could get.  My bid was the only one.  but eh, figured i'd share my good fortune.

I can pretty much gaurantee the reason it didnt go up is because the title was labeled "turbografx16" (one word)  and only crazy desperate gamers like me would try all combinations of the system title

Ive never sold a CDR of ANYTHING (music,games, whatever) to anyone.  Me and my friends are all gamers so we all respect each other and never think twice about "payment" for games with each other.  

Besides, CDRs are so cheap anyway... me and my friends usually just have a few spindles of 'community' blank CDrs we use.

In terms of being paid for the time involved:
The TIME put into finding ISOs and burning them always seemed like part of the fun to me.   I always liked wading thru things and trying to make things work correctly.   Even if im just taking the time to make a CDr to give my friends, I'm usually excited to share games with them, because I know they appreciate it, and would do the same for me.

to me, its always been about the games, not money.

Avatar : German national arms -- being of heavy german heritage it seemed logical, but I will most likely change it to something more gaming relevant, which will immediately make this post obsolete =)

I like Jpop too, and Jrock...  but im more of a eurobeat fan myself.  i.e Dave Rodgers, Niko, Mr. Groove, etc, etc.   Really energetic music, great for pretty much anything. ;)

I actually don't watch too much video game related stuff on YouTube (or Google video)  I usually use them to find old music videos or live guitar solos, (in the vein of Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteem and Tony Macalpine)  damn those guys can play, and watching them live (even on crap quality) is always a good time. =)

Sorry Tatsujin, but not everyone is lucky enough to have an original =P

besides, I didnt buy it to 'support piracy'.  At the time I bought it I wasnt even sure of its authenticity, so dont be accusative.  

Original or not, I bought it because its a great game and its nice to have a tangible version of the game to display on a shelf or slip in a CD rack.

Anyway, I'm sorry my 'welcome' thread sparked some disagreements.

Thanks to all for your feedback pertaining to this sale.   I picked up an extra copy just to have it.   I think this is as close to the real thing as im going to get for now ;)

Alrighty... well all the talk about this being just a 'copy' didnt really answer my question as to whether these are Hudson endorsed '2nd prints' or not. =P

I know its not an ORIGINAL.   Even Mike Tyson's Punchout was re-released by Nintendo on NES with different packaging.  Was it the ORIGINAL?  NO.   but it was the same game, and anyone who owned a copy of the re-release would say he does own the game, but not the original.   I'm kinda feeling that what this whole Sapphire situation is like.  The only loophole though, seems to be that no one is positive if these Sapphire reprints are actually Hudson prods, or just some jerkoff with a really good printer.

Anyway, due to an original's rarity, these alternative versions are as close as some people are going to be able to get ::points at self::   Where would i even look to buy an original?  It seems people selling the other one do not even know its not an original.    

Believe me I want an orignal (hell, who doesnt).  

At any rate, I dont want to start off on the wrong foot here by getting everyone up in arms about Sapphire copies. =)   If we all just wanted ANY working form of a game, we could all just have emulators. =P

What games are you planning on picking up next?

I'm actually going to try to get my hands on anything since I dont have much to begin with =)

Hello all,  this is my first post on this awesome board, and I think i'll be kicking it off right by announcing that I bought Sapphire and an Arcade Card (both sealed) on eBay.

Before you begin to cringe, be advised that I'm well aware of all the 'alternate', 'bootleg, and  'second run' copies of sapphire and I am willing to accept the fact that this is one of them. =)  and seeing as how I'd like to get back into collecting TG/PCE items, i think Sapphire is a good item to start with. ;) 

I was curious though, was there ever solid evidence leaning toward if these 'copies' were actually legit second runs from Hudson, or if they are just simply "fanboy bootlegs" trying to "spread the love" of the game?

I've read many posts on these boards, including the excellent in depth comparisons from the real copy to the fake copy of sapphire compiled by CrackTiger (kudos). 

I'm happy to find other die hard PCE/TG fans! =D

p.s.  is it bad that i listen to the sapphire soundtrack in my car?
