@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

I was running around old shops in HK lately and found something interesting.  I'm not sure if this is rare or not; but it's PCE related and was my first time seeing it. It's supposed to be some CD for "The 16th Year Anniversary of PC Engine."

So I paid around USD 12 for it, and it looks pretty cool;  below are the some pics to show ya all.

..yooo.. I've finally got hold on a copy of Zeroigar (CAN"T WAIT,  I've been waiting for it for sooo long),   should be in by mail very soon~ keep you guys updated,, =)

hmmmm I'm think I need to make a few of these samples.. and which one of you have soldering equipments at home to do this assemble trial?  maybe i can mail out some samples to you all for everyone to try at home =)  ahahha, i'm think a bit ahead,, need that gerber file first
#6
=)....   thanks for the post Tatsujin, I'm really looking forward for this gerber,, at least it will help me to get a Started on the circuit board.
Will get my engineers to do prototypes base on the orginal FR1or2 material,
needs to do material cut; then drill it (with our 300k dollar Hitachi drilling machine), then etch the circuits and rout out the board outline..  this is gonna be real fun.

and I'm gonna try it on a IMS metal material to make a heat free PCE hah~
looking forward to see that gerber~~~

Sounds good to me. One of the technical gurus here should figure this out for us, so we'll have a definitive answer.

If I had a BMP, I'd open it up, since I do not have PC-FX  :(
hah,,, thanks guys, anyway, I'm only playing Chip Chan kick,,, no saving needed.. =)    but I do have my memory card in the machine with out any battery,, so I'm sure that's the reason,, (couldn't find battery around the house) so I just left it in there.

thx again,
Good luck beating all 60 levels in one sitting.  :)  CCK auto saves to the FX internal space anyway.  It doesn't read the BMP directly, you'd have to transfer the saves manually.
I can't even get through Lv 10,,, the boss is Hard man... even with 4 continues,  I'm gonna take a good few hours on it again tonight,,, =)

Hi guys,
haven't played my FX for a while, but I finally got my hands on "Chip Chan Kick", so I've been playing it again.  noticing the home page screen before running the game; there's a Battery symbol flashing at upper right corner.
what is this ?? I thought it's probably the memory bettery that's dead,, but then all my saved games are still there.. well i didn't have a user manual for my system; so I dont' know ...
can anyone tell me ?? and also if there's a battery that needs to be replaced,, how do I do it ?

Quote from: brettlee on 01/20/2009, 03:45 AMHey Wilson.. First, I'd like to congratulate you on owning the BEST version of PCE ever!!   =D> You must've been spending too much time with her lately eh?  Well.. Do you mind if I also share my happiest moment with everyone here as well? (Actually wanted to post this when I first got it last 2 weeks, but was super busy)

Here's my most proudest PCE artifact acquisition :

I got it for a good price off eBay. Not complete though. Missing the protective pad plugs and the small car adapter cable..

Will post more pics of her when I get back tonight!..  High Five Wilson!!!  =;
Dude,, how much did ya get yours for ?
#14
I saw 2 of them on Yahoo Japan today,, going for 25,000 yen Start biding,, and buy price at 50,000 yen,   no box tho.

Quote from: MotherGunner on 01/10/2009, 10:14 PMI don't think this was the original author's intent.

I believe he wanted to share his joy for owning such an awesome piece of hardware as opposed to have the perception that he was just showing it off.

This also assumes he has loads of money to spend, which in his defense, he probably saved for a long time.

Anyhow great purchase!  I hope to save alot of money and own one myself one day.   Question, what is more comfy?  onboard controls or seperate controller?
Thanks man, that's definately true.  I really wanted to share with you guys the happiness as we here all love the PC Engine products.  And I'm also happy that this is my first POST that ever had this much of replies.  heh.
For the controls; ya I do prefer a seperate controller; as I want keep the machine in tight conditions.

By they way; does any one know how many LT's did NEC produced in the past ??

Quote from: Psycho Alt-Nintega on 01/08/2009, 09:58 AMWhat is the point of playing an LT if they are not portable? Makes no sense. I'd rather have a PCE GT.
Do you bring your GT out to play still ?   well my point of getting the LT was not just to play it,, I bought it cus I wanted to "have it".
#17
got mine for HKD 750, so that's around USD 100.   boxed
but I can't find them rare games here at all..  well ...for any good price....errr

ya, agree,, but back then with the LT, i think Game boy was still in black and white .. wasn't it ?
hah~~

Quote from: geise on 01/06/2009, 12:55 PMVery nice!  I've bought a ton of stuff through Yahoo Japan Auction! using Celga.  Sometimes you need to be careful though.  A lot of prices on Yahoo Japan Auction can be as bad as ebay.  If you search the pc-engine section on there there's some games that are priced pretty crazy.  I guess price gouging is everywhere.  Anyways that's freaking awesome.  Looks like the Gameboy Advance SP stole the LT's design. Congrats again!
#20
can't use batteries, it uses a/c adaptor only  9V.  Screen,, ummm 3" x 3"maybe.  ummmm active matrix or dual scan,,,, (ummm sorry Im too stupid to know). and Speakers are pretty loud, way better then the GT. i pray and hope the sound won't die out like the GT does over years......

Quote from: oldskool on 01/05/2009, 11:12 PMDoes it take batteries?  Or do you have to plug it in to use it?  Congrats!  Those are really nice!  How big is the screen?  How's the clarity, is it active matrix or dual scan?  How do the speakers sound on it?  wow that was a lot of questions..
#21
nope.. no blank pixels,, it's in great shape... lucky me,,

Quote from: Tatsujin on 01/06/2009, 08:28 AMveery nice and just look that price! :D
no blank pixels?

this machine is awesomness pure!!
#22
Sorry bro.... I'll never be done with it ...i think ..heh~~ this LT means too much to me.  but I'll keep my eyes out for another one for ya guys tho;

Quote from: Lord Thag on 01/05/2009, 05:53 PMYeah, and when you're done, mail it to me

I've toyed with doing a home-made LT jobby, a la Ben Heck. I figured it'd be doable somehow with Coregrafx, a gamecube monitor, a controller, and a dremel. Dunno.

And nice score btw!
#23
For all the tempting years only seeing this LT on magazines and internet, you bet; I will treat it better then anything.

Quote from: guest on 01/05/2009, 03:19 PMThat's awesome, make sure you treat it with respect :)

I must share my happiness with you all.  I've been waiting for this day for 20 years.(almost).  I finally got it into my hands...... Yes,, the Pce-LT.  have been waiting for someone to post this bid for sooo long, and I finally won it at a costly price of 36,000 yen. (well I personally think the price was great compared to Ebay.)  it was tough tho; cus those guys in Yahoo Japan never want to ship overseas.. so I had found someone locally to bid and mail it to me which wasn't easy.  So Thank god I won.  I've been staring at it for the past 30mins,,.... man it just looks too good.  anyway,, just wanted to share with ya guys,,,
here are the pics..

well the Grey Super CD Rom is much newer design compared to the briefcase.. I've got Both units, and I feel the loading time and reliablity is better on the Grey Unit.   but since I think both are sexy, so I bought both =)

so Nat.. where are you located ???
#49

Well, I happen to pick this up today from my sources.  Pc Engine GT, Yes,, cheap.. works out to about USD 30.

well, screen works perfectly,,, but I found out the I and II buttons are kinda bad,, have to press hard to get it working or sometimes no responses.  and also the Volume on this thing is VERY VERY LOW...

well, I guess for it's price... something must be not perfect,

My question is.. ANY one that has same problems and managed to fix it ?? and How can I go fixing these issues ??
your comments PLS..~~~

Ok,, I picked up these two games, Moto Roader and Son Son II today,

What's the reason why Moto Roader's market price is much higher then the other games that I see. ??? haven't play it yet,, .. tell me your thoughts ???

As for Son Son II, haha, pretty good game,, i enjoy it, but why is it so hard to get the monkey in to the doors ??

who played these games,, ?
