QuoteThe problem is I just need to test the items and send them out.
He still hadn't tested that stuff yet?!?!  Jesus.

QuoteAnd 'dude' can't grow some balls and send an 'email' to D-lite himself? Who the hell waits a whole god damn year? A dumbass, that's who.
And Bonknuts, I'm sorry if you think I'm a dumbass. I just have a few things to say about that in my own defense:

1. Calling me names that I (to the best of my recollection) haven't been called since I was in about 7th grade isn't going to help the situation for anybody.  It's rude, immature, and unnecessary.

2. I have been emailing Dean, the entire time he's had my stuff.  I just sent him a couple today as a matter of fact.  The problem is he doesn't always like to respond to his emails.  And when he does a lot of the time he makes excuses.  I've already explained that in the message I sent to Michael.  It just got to a point where it felt like the excuses kept piling up, no matter how many emails I sent him.  I had no idea this fiasco would go on for so long.  There were some noticeable gaps between the emails of Dean and myself, I'm not going to lie, but that was mainly due to the fact that Dean said he was having some family/job issues and I was just trying to give him some time to sort himself out, without him feeling like I was trying to breathe down his neck.  Either that or in some instances I was just busy with my own job.  Plain and simple.

3. I just want to make it known that I didn't ask Michael to send an email to Dean on my behalf, it was his idea, not mine.  In the last paragraph of that message I sent to him (which he didn't include here, because it didn't really pertain to the story) I specifically said that I didn't want him to fight my battles or do any of my dirty work for me by any means.  As I said before, I was just looking for some advice.  And in his defense, Michael probably knows Dean as a person better than I do, so he probably figured he could get through to Dean better than I could.  He was just trying to help.  Besides, it wasn't you he sent the email to, so why is it your problem?

There, I'm done with all the defending.  If you still have a problem with how I handled this, I'm sorry you feel that way.  But if you want to call me a dumbass, go ahead.  You can call me every name in the book for all I care.  It's still your problem, not mine.

...and people may wonder why I don't post that much...

Oh yeah, the thread where Dean said the PCB chip would work on "any NEC system" is right here:
https://www.pcengine-fx.com/forums/index.php?topic=3694.0

Seems to me it would make a lot more sense to actually properly test the chip on all types of systems before making such a statement.  Just an observation.

Just got another one today, and it worked just fine.  The other one must have just been a dud, and unfortunately I don't have the technical know-how to crack it open and try to fix it myself (I haven't touched a soldering iron since I was in 9th grade...that was about 12 years ago).  I did however get store credit from the local used game store I bought it from after explaining what happened, so no big loss (I used it to buy a copy of SuperBad!).  Thanks a lot to everyone for their help and input.

Quote from: Joe Redifer on 05/12/2008, 07:07 PMThe gold and black labels make no difference.  They are the same thing otherwise.
Hmmm....it's sounding more and more to me like I've just got a dud Genie.  I hope so, because I'd really like to keep my new Genny.  I'll find out more once I can get my hands on another GG.  Thanks for the input.

Quote from: guest on 05/12/2008, 08:04 AMYou Game Genie may be no good. I've only used mine on a HDG Genesis to play MWIV, but it worked fine.
That's what I'm starting to think.  I'm going to try getting another one with the gold label and see what happens.

Quote from: Zeon on 05/08/2008, 06:42 PMI believe you need to flip the switch on the game genie itself to activate the codes. I had forgotten about this as well when i tried to use my snes game genie. I was like "why are the codes not activating?" and then it hit me, flip the switch!
I forgot to mention I tried that already too.  The switch was in the proper position with the little green light on and everything.  I'm also using the Genie with the black label if that helps.

General Gaming / Genesis Game Genie Issues
05/08/2008, 06:32 PM
I recently purchased a used "High Definition Graphics" model 1 Genesis and a Game Genie.  The problem is, I can't get the Game Genie to work.  I can get the code screen to pop up just fine, but once I put in the code(s) and press start, the game loads up, but the codes don't work.  If I reset the game, it takes me back to the code screen, with the codes still intact, but modified (several letters and numbers changed).  [Edit: If I put codes into any other line besides the first one they don't show up at all when I reset.]  The only games I've been able to try this with so far are Mortal Kombat and Altered Beast, as the only other Genesis game I have at the moment is the 6-Pak, and I don't know of any codes for that one.  I recently ran into the same problem when I tried to use a SNES Game Genie with a model 2 SNES (or baby SNES as I like to call it) and figured out that the model 2 SNES must have some kind of lockout chip that keeps the Genie from working.  Would this be the case with the model 1 Genny?  If so, is there some kind of mod that would fix this?  Any help would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Quote from: spoiler king on 11/03/2007, 07:43 PMSo.....yeeeaaaaa. Anyone here selling a sealed copy of Lords of Thunder for non-ebay prices?
Yeah, what he said.  I was going to wait until I got paid to get that one too.  If anyone has any extras they would be willing to part with feel free to let me know.

Hi all.  I've been looking into expanding my pce/tg-16 game collection lately, and I'd like to get one of the power league/world class baseball games, but I've noticed there's like, 5 of them.  So I'd thought I'd get some opinions from the experts: Which one is the overall best?

Also, what are some good arcade CDs (that wouldn't be too ridiculously expensive to find)?

Off-Topic / Re: Help...

I've done that and I've also turned Norton Anti-Spam completely off.  Still nothing.

What happened was I originally signed up using my AIM e-mail address, and when I didn't get anything (even in my spam folder) I figured it just got blocked by AOL.  I then changed my registered e-mail to my home one (which goes through my cable company) and sent them a message asking them to send me another activation e-mail to the new address.  Again I got nothing (even in my spam folder) nor did I get any notifications saying I changed my e-mail.  Two more messages later and here I am.  I've also made sure that the box next to "Receive Email from Administrators" in my profile has been checked.  I'm using Outlook Express if that helps.

Off-Topic / Help...
10/10/2007, 01:15 PM
So I signed up to the Digital Press forums a while back (about a month ago now maybe), I have yet to be able to activate my account.  I never got an activation e-mail.  I've e-mailed the administrator 3 times about it and I still have yet to receive any response.  Is there anyone here who might be able to help me with this?  I realize this isn't exactly the best/right place to ask this question, but since I still can't post on the DP forums I figured I'd give it a shot.

Same here - I still need to send some stuff in.
