No, it's a legitimate copy.

I only have one controller.

Yeah, that seems to be the only thing it's doing wrong.

I haven't tried it with any other games yet.

And some ocean perch, from a local restaurant called Shorty's.

I just got a copy of Dracula X yesterday.  ^_^  I also just got food poisoning yesterday.  >_<  Anyhow, before the food poisoning set in, while I was still blissfully unaware of the horrendous torment in store for me, I played a bit of Dracula X, and I have to say, it's pretty good.  It worked fine yesterday, though I didn't play it that much.  Then I went to sleep.  Then the food poisoning set in.  I awoke several times (at least five) during the night to massive projectile vomiting, which, I might add, was not fun.

The next morning, when I woke up for the final time, I noticed that both my Duo, and its controller had been splattered (not covered, but moderately splashed) with what appeared to be some sort of radioactive pink ooze.  Thankfully, it was far enough away that it was spared the majority of it...  So I proceeded to try to clean them off, then I tried to play Dracula X again.  I was having some troubles with button I.  Sometimes it didn't work at all, sometimes it worked fine, sometimes it lagged by about a half second, and sometimes if you held it down, it would eventually rapid-fire itself.  This was unacceptable.  So I took the controller apart and tried to clean it from the inside.  After that, I still had some button I troubles for about two or three minutes.  After that, they went away.  What then started sporadically happening was that, if I lost a life and came back, the game would somehow crash.  It displayed the game screen, and the music played, but the game wouldn't respond at all.  The blue box showed credit and rest, as if it were paused, but the music still played.  I couldn't unpause it or anything.  But I could still press Run and Select to reboot the console.  Then the controller worked all right for a while.  This crashing problem didn't happen with great frequency, but it did happen about three or four times.

What I'm wondering is if anyone has a copy of Dracula X with a non-tainted controller that does the same thing (like, are there defective copies of Dracula X floating around), or if anyone has ever had something similar happen to a controller and have something like this result, or something.  I should probably test it with some other games, too.  But yeah, any relevant knowledge would be greatly appreciated.  And I'm sorry if some of the graphic details were more than you wanted to know.

Ok, thanks for all the help.  I was hoping I could pick up a US Turbo Tap because it would match the color of my PC Engine Duo, but I guess I can't do that.

Will a US 5 player Turbo Tap work on a Japanese PC Engine Duo?

What exactly was the difference between them?
