@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Well, the site keeps saying my attachment size is too large, so you'll have to take my word for it that I'm enjoying Ys IV on my PCEngine Duo R thanks to the folks who translated and dubbed it.

In the last couple of days, I bought some extra controllers, controller extensions, and Ys IV. I'm not sure why it took me this long to decide that paying a little to sit more than five feet from the tv while playing is worth it.

Mine arrived Monday in Dallas. Most of my time at home has been spent playing it.

I'm on the mailing list but I haven't been able to make posts in the past because I have a Yahoo address. If bt or someone else here can override that, I'd sure appreciate that. The first part of the address is snailboy1.

I beat Ys Book 2 today. I'd had a game saved for years near the end of the game but quit playing it. It took me a while to figure out what I was doing. Now I need to find another game to work on.
#5
I have an Arcade Card Pro with case I'll sell you.
#6
I shipped out two orders today. Most other stuff is pending. The only thing definitely available is the Arcade Card Pro and I lowered the price to $40.

No problem. I don't want someone to get something and be disappointed.

All the games except Alien Crush ($10 for all) and the Arcade Card Pro are unspoken for. All the games are American and the Arcade Card is, of course, Japanese.

Most of this stuff went fast. The games and Arcade Card are the only things without a sale pending. I'll try to get everyone's stuff boxed this weekend and figure up shipping costs.

And I made a mistake on the Alien Crush game. I could swear last night I had two boxed copies of it, but it seems I have only one box. I'm not selling my only box for it so it's just cased like most of the other games.

Turbostick has become available again. Alien Crush isn't.

I got your PM's and I'll respond after work. It looks like all but the Arcade Card Pro and most of the games are sold.

I got a PC Engine Duo-R with region mod so I'm looking to sell my old American systems. Keep in mind that I've hardly shipped anything out before (I usually buy) so I don't have packing supplies and it may take a couple of weeks to send them off. I won't ask for money until I'm about to though. Another thing, people buying systems have priority on games and accessories. I won't sell them seperately until both systems are sold or it doesn't look like they're going to sell. So here's the list. I've made sure everything is cheaper than eBay or what I paid for it, so I think it's fair. Prices don't include shipping.

Turbografx with CD unit (working) - $90
Turbografx with broken CD unit - $40 sale pending
Regional converter - $30
Arcade Card Pro - $40
Games - $10
  Galaga '90 - Card only
Battle Royale - Case and manual
Bloody Wolf - Case and manual
Fighting Street - Case and manual
Alien Crush - Case and manual sale pending
Turbostick - $10 sale pending
Carrying case - $5

The broken CD unit is explained here. I don't think it would take much to fix it for someone with electronics skills. I wish I knew such a person as I hate to see the thing go to waste when it could probably be easily fixed.

The regional converter is the type that only fits in the Turbografx, not the Duo. I think it'll fit in the PC Engine but I'm not sure. It's the kind with the purple label, if that means anything to you.

Both systems come with a power adapter, a Turbotap, and 5 controllers. I have 9 regular controllers and one Turbostick. I'm charging $10 for whoever wants the Turbostick instead of a fifth Turbopad. (I hope someone does.) Same with the carrying case. They also both come with system 2.0 cards. I believe that's it.

Good idea. I'll see what they can come up with. They have the 6 button controllers for less than eBay.

Buy/Sell/Trade / WTB: Duo-R controllers
07/03/2009, 07:38 PM
I need more controllers for my Duo-R. I have one Avenue Pad 6 and one factory controller. I want another Avenue Pad 6 and three more factory controllers. I can buy the former from Rising Stuff for a good price, but I can't find the factory controllers anywhere. The ones I find are the black ones for the Core Grafx. Anyone have some controllers they're willing to sell?

General Gaming / Re: Neo Geo startup sound

Awesome! It's my bootup sound now. I've been wanting it for months. Time to poke around on that site a bit.

General Gaming / Neo Geo startup sound

I was wondering if anyone here has the Neo Geo startup sound in a wav or mp3 file or could easily make it. I think it would be awesome for when my computer and phone boot up. I've scoured the internet but can't find it. Creating a collection of such files would be pretty cool.

Have you bought any software from the Goat Store? I guess my real question is whether the games and prices they have listed reflect the stock they actually have in hand, or are they just theoretical prices on games they could get, maybe.

I've been looking (not too intently) for a reliable used game store that sells Turbo Games. Annoyingly hard to come by. Game Dude is alright, but they only have a handful of titles at any given time.
No, I haven't bought anything but sleeves from the Goat Store. I have placed an order with Rising Stuff and had good luck though. They're worth checking out.

I got Red Ghost to mod my PC Engine Duo-R a few weeks ago and I've been meaning to post about it. I got the region switch, region power LEDs, and the composite output jacks. I don't see much point in posting pics since it looks pretty much identical to the ones on his site. But I'll say the switch and jacks look like they came on the machine from the factory. No one who doesn't know PC Engines could ever tell it was modded. I got blue and green LEDs in hope that I could still see the red CD access LED. The green one is about the same brightness while the blue one is a little brighter, but I can easily see the red one with either lit up. He left me with one sweet rig to take the place of my Turbografx which I may be selling.

Go check out www.goatstore.com. I recently bought some from there. They're not new, and don't look it, but they're better than nothing.

Turbografx-16 with CD attached to 27" Sony Trinitron. I also have a PC Engine Duo but I haven't had it modded yet so I'm using both. It's a tangled mess with both of those plus a Dreamcast, Playstation 2, and Atari 2600 in front of the tv.

Awesome. Thanks for the tips. I may come up with more to ask later.

That's probably it. I'd press different directions thinking it would do different attacks, like high and low. I bet he usually didn't put it up because I was pressing down at the same time as I, but when I did it a little before, he'd put it up and get impaled. I'll give it another try.

So how about Bomberman?

It looks like this is my first post, but I posted a few times as Kenshi. Somehow I lost access to that account. Anyway, I've had the Turbografx bug again lately and have been spending more money than I should on games. I threw down a nice wad on Chi no Rondo and several other games. Then, realizing I needed a six-button controller for the fighting games which isn't available for the Turbografx 16/CD, I bought a PC Engine Duo-R. After I get it modded, I can probably sell the old system, the converter, and Arcade Pro card and make my money back and then some. But on to my questions...

I've bought several Japanese games lately. I know little Japanese so the instruction manuals don't help much. First question is about Prince of Persia. I think this is a game I could get into, but I keep having trouble with the fights. They usually end well, but occasionally the guy will sheath his sword and get impelled. All I'm doing is pressing I repeatedly and pressing different directions. I don't have time to experiment to figure out what causes him to sheath his sword so I can quit doing it. Anyone know what it is?

Second question is about Bomberman 94. All of the dinosaurs have pretty obvious special abilities... except for the pink one. All it seems to do when you press II is bark. Is there any purpose to this beyond looking like an idiot?
