I dabble with it on my Mac using a program called Pixen, but I wouldn't call myself skilled with pixel art.  If there's something that you need done, I would be happy to give it a go, but I'm probably not your best option.

QuoteThe hack/remake for PCE is based off Dragon Warrior specifically. I think CrackTiger was going to design a logo that said Dragon Warrior, but used Dragon Quest style font.
Yeah, that's why my original version used the DW logo, rather than Dragon Quest.  If anyone is interested in using my cover, I can easily provide alternate versions with either name, depending on personal preference.

Here's the latest revision.  It's a little bit closer to the original Famicom cover with the classic DQ logo and the Enix logo in blue rather than green.  Time permitting, I'll post the back cover and CD label later this week or early next week.

Yeah, I'm working on a back cover and cd label in addition to the front cover.  Everyone, chime in and let me know if you think there any changes that I should make.  Also, if anyone else is working on homebrew games or an emulated game like DW, let me know and I would love to work on a cover design for you.

When I was taking a look at PC-Engine Dev I saw that some of the guys there had managed to get Dragon Warrior working via emulation as a SuperCD.  I'm not sure if they already had plans to do so, but I thought it might be kind of cool to whip up a custom cover for the game.  Let me know what you think, whether its crap or good, needs something added, changed, removed, whatever.  I'm also working on a back cover and a CD label as well.  Your feedback is much appreciated.

QuoteWait...FFVII got expensive? WHY? There are shitloads of copies of that game. When I worked at EB (2001-2002) we got got copies of that game in almost every other day. It was sitting there for $20 in quantity on the shelf for years.
Yep.  It regularly goes for about $50 nowadays.  Although FF VII is one of the least rare games you could imagine (several million copies sold in the US), I do have to say that its been a long time since I saw a copy in any of the video game shops around here.  It doesn't compare to any TurboGrafx games, but for a widely available, extremely popular game, it has become slightly difficult to find, hence the ridiculous prices on ebay.  You should grab those games out of your trunk and make some money.

The problem with games like FF 7, isn't that they're rare, but that most of the copies are in the hands of people that actually want them and have no intention of selling them.  Same thing with Symphony of the Night on the Playstation.  Contra for the NES is common as crabgrass, but back when I used to work at Funcoland, it was far more expensive than just about every other NES game because very few people were willing to sell their copies.

Anyone who pays a premium for a "sealed" copy of a game is a fool.  It is very, very easy to shrinkwrap a used game, and ta-da!  Brand new game!

Wow, thanks for all of the info!  I didn't know that there was a PS2 controller adapter for the PC Engine, but I'll hunt one of those down.

Buy/Sell/Trade / ASCII Stick for PC Engine
02/02/2008, 09:20 PM
Hi,
I'm new to the Turbo/PC Engine/PC-FX community (I just received my PC Engine Duo-R this morning  :D).  Right now, I'm trying to pick up games and accessories for my Duo, and I came across an arcade stick that Ascii made for the PC Engine.  Has anyone here ever used it, know if its a quality controller or a piece of junk?  Any information would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide.  Also, does anyone know of a list of the games that are compatible with the PC Engine mouse?

Tom Baker is awesome as the Fourth Doctor, but my new favorite is Christopher Eccleston as the Ninth Doctor.

I was fortunate enough to pick up a 60GB PS3.  I have it hooked up to my TV via HDMI and the PS2 games look fantastic upscaned to 1080i and with all of the jaggies are smoothed out.
