If they ever make a racing game out of the chase scene I want it.  :D

Try to pick up Tetsuo the iron man, it's so weird you think you are trippin'.

I don't really have any discs that I use for testing, usualy I loop the test picture thats after some movies for set up but that's about it.
Currently looking for an ADA ac3 rf demodulator, want to switch out my old one for one of the same brand as my surround system (using an old ada ssd 5.1, great piece of equipment) and I need to find a decent close caption decoder as well. I do have event horizon and could try with that one.

Well I happen to like some of those over budgeted cg games at least, some of those rail shooters I could do without though.
What I did state was that it died because I used a third party megadrive cartridge, that's what messed it up.
I've yet to have any problems with a laseractive and I am getting a new one. I might get your opinon later on though if I do experience the problems you are talking about, perhaps I've been lucky. Perhaps I'll stay lucky (, if I keep unofficial products away :p).

Quote from: "PCEngineHell"Cld-99s are nice, good players.Ever thought bout going for a X-9 or a Sony Muse?X models are supposed to read rotted disc extremely well.
Yeah, I've thought about it but they're insanely expensive, you can get a cld-97 or 99 for under $350 these days, no such luck with the above mentioned players. Still if I do happen to come across one at an afordable price I think I'm going to pick it up.

Quote from: "PCEngineHell"I dont like drama, comedy,or children movies.I only collect action with real actors,horror,sci-fi,anime,and dark comedy.I allow nothing else into my collection. That means no True Lies,Last Action Heros,Leathel Weapons,Lion Kings,Black Sheeps,or 3 Ninjas lds.I have alot of box sets too,Criterian stuff.Imports that you cant get here.Im about the only person I know of in the US with Outlanders anime imported on LD that is regestered on LDDB.
Well, to each their own I supose, I happen to like some of those other categories as well. I admitt that my collection is a bit bloated right now, I usualy bulk buy them. And some of them are really to cheap to pass by, I mean renting some movie from a video store can be more expensive than buying some of these titles. If I don't like it, or they rot to pieces I can always take them down to the beach and play catch with them.:p
Outlanders, I did like the manga so I wouldn't really mind getting that one as well.

Quote from: "PCEngineHell"Do you have any pics you can post of your Elite player going at it?Id liek to see some to see the quality on a poorly mastered LD,to see how it improves it.
You mean like running a segment with or without the filters activated? Hmm, no I supose it could be done, I could borrow a digicam and take some pictures but I'm not that sure they would come out good enough.

Quote from: "PCEngineHell"I heard/read that UK players/disc didnt do one of the audio modes either,digital,ac-3 or what,Im not sure, but I do remember reading that.Which is it?
Right of the bat I can't really remember which one it is. As PAL has a higher bandwidth than NTSC PAL LDs only have one track for sound, either analogue or digital. Could be that as well.

Quote from: "PCEngineHell"btw, what are you using to play gamegear games on Genesis?
I'm not really, just went to look at it and it was a master system to game gear adapter, not the other way around (which kinda makes sense as the game gear has a bigger colour pallete), my bad.

I did not buy my laseractive to play my laserdiscs (save the laseractive ones) and therefore I don't really care about it "being a waste of money" and "utter crap". It is a fun machine that I find incredibly versatile. I like it, you don't. That's all there is to it.

Well, I'm pushing 400LDs now and I can tell you that I'm not using my laseractive for just watching movies, I'm using my pioneer elite cld-99 for my ntsc discs and my old sony lasermax (found in LD arcade game cabinets) for my pal discs. My laseractive is used for playing everything PC engine, megadrive, mastersystem and yes gamegear as well. Going to be interesting to see if I can hook up a X32 to it as well. It is a highly versatile gamingmachine, not to that sadly only have composite out but my panasonic FT-2900 somewhat makes up for that.

Specs is not the only thing making a machine great.

Quote from: "PCEngineHell"The us pak for Sgea will play Mega Drive carts, but not Mega CD games, unless you switch the bios, which you have in your hands.
The US sega pak is cheap on ebay, and pops up often. You can use it on any model laseractive, even the Japanese NEC issued laseractive.
Good Luck.

Err, yes and? I have both a genny pack and a megadrive pack as well as a pc engine one.

Quote from: "PCEngineHell"Laseractive sucks!
Go back to your little tg16 and your little cards, I can use hue cards, cd-rom2 and ld-rom2.  :x

Well, I've dissasembled my unit, the laser is dead and apparently some board is also shot. Gritting my teeth and buying a new unit and now I'll have two genny packs, sigh. Will probably change the region setting and burn a new rom for it so I can use it for my European games instead.

I'd be interested in one or two if you added pots for the colours as I'm not really planning in sticking them into a pce, do it your self kits wouldn't really matter either if it's easier for you.

A Korean cartridge called megamate, a kind of ROM cartridge.

Nah I'm living in Sweden and I did use a step down transformer, a big one, 0,5KW so there shouldn't be any load problems. There was this little button on the cart called reset that I depressed, big misstake. The manual being written in Korean didn't make it that much better either.  :(

I have a laseractive with pce, megadrive and gennypacks (still looking for that karaoke and computer interface ones) though it's broken now thanks to my stupidity. It's a neat machine that sadly only have composite out (and you can't use that optical digital out for sound either) but it's otherwise pretty much your standard duo and also uses the duo arcade card.

Quote from: "Keranu"Yay for PC-FX development! By the way, has there been any updates on that Little Red Riding Hood game translation? I just can't wait until some of the better games get translations.

Sabres been busy as far as I know but as far as I know it's mainly lack of time and a translator that keep him back.

I was too lazy to pull out my old megadrive to test a third party cart for megadrive. Heck my laseractive is hooked up, might as well just change the expansion pack and try.

*Fizzle*

Well, now it won't work (just glad the PCE pack wasn't in it), smells bad as well.  :(

Not wanting to throw myself on the floor and wail about my own stupidity just yet I wonder if anyone of you out there has any documentation on the machine.

I like it that the series is still alive and kicking even if it only is for jp windows.

The voice acting just made me double over with laughter when I heard it the first time, it doesn't really feel like it was amateurs that did it as many of the voices seems to lack emotions. Wouldn't suprise me at all if it was the programers, the receptionist and perhaps the janitor that did the dub.
