Count me in for Shadowgate and M&M3 once things get settled. Thanks for doing this, guys!

If all you're looking for is scanlines, then no you shouldn't need any additional equipment beyond the monitor you named. Bear in mind, you'll need to make sure that it's an SD model and not an HD...as the HD ones do not have scanlines.

Somehow that invalidates the fact that I found humor in the situation?

What the @##% did you just $%^&ing say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the !@#$ out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my ^%$#ing words. You think you can get away with saying that ^%$# to me over the Internet? Think again, ^&*$er. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're $#@!ing dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable #$% off the face of the continent, you little #$%!. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your @#$%ing tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you !@#$%&* idiot. I will !@#$ fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're !@#$ing dead, kiddo.
Wut? I just said I was retired and thought it was funny. You guys are silly.

I've a JP version of this along with the Hori Beretta GunCon, and can definitely add fuel to the 'this game is freaking amazing' fire! Good luck to everyone!

Hey guys! It was cool meeting you all (the ones that I did run across). I hope everyone had a great time and am definitely looking forward to next year!

Quote from: dan Iacovelli on 03/30/2015, 10:50 PMits called marketing, getting the attention of the public before the release . movie companies been doing it for ages (trailers) not mention game companies been doing as well announce the product before the release ( a certain company comes to mind did a 10-10-10 ad for its system)
Wrestling promotions been doing it as well for big events ( JJ's Global Force Wrestling announced a show vegas even before they got the whole roster set or a tv deal)
The difference between movie premieres and wrestling promotions vs. this thing is that neither of the former are intended to be marketed to a niche audience. They're for general consumption to the average Joe & Jane on the street. A 'retro-based gaming console' is, by its very nature, going to appeal *only* to a very very limited audience, which in turn means you are already hobbled in terms of positive financial gain from its sale. The rest, as elmer and Zeta have spelled out, is just downhill from there. It's a cool idea, and WOULD be really neat to see actually take off...but pie-in-the-sky, cart-before-the-horse style dreaming isn't going to make it a financially SOUND idea.
#17
Just out of curiosity, is there a similar plugin available for Opera?
#18
I just recently had to get my Duo fixed for doing EXACTLY the same things. It is the controller port, I'd put money on it. Does it have ANY wiggle on the board at all? Even if it doesn't, it's still likely to have a broken solder joint somewhere underneath it. Best bet is to re-solder or reflow all the connections that are between the port and the board itself, like was mentioned earlier. Once we did that with mine all the problems went away immediately.
#19
Just a curiosity, Rover...are the dev forums for this still active? I log in periodically to check on the testing stuff, but noone ever seems to be around :(
#20
Definitely looking like a lot of progress being made!

Granted, I don't know *anything* about the translation/hacking process, but it certainly looks good on 'paper' though :)

I just started playing though this (er...I should say 'attempt' to play through this...using a walkthrough always seems to defeat my enthusiasm), and this is amazing news, sir. I *greatly* look forward to one day being able to give this the full attention it deserves!

Have there been any further updates on this project?

Also, I finally figured out what my previous issue was (ie, I did *not* have Python.exe in my path, and that is fixed now), but I am running into a new issue currently. When I attempt to run the string you provided above, I receive this error:

Hopefully some light can be shed on this :)

Quote from: NightWolve on 01/01/2015, 04:35 PMLooks like BackLoggery doesn't record a date when you add an entry... I think I only have one game to list though it might've been late 2013. Can't remember for sure.

Kingdom Hearts. (Old school Squaresoft)

Spamming myself with the BackLoggery image in my sig has helped only very minimally for me to get back into gaming quantity-wise...
It's there, you just have to open up your Memory Card item to show all listings, and then everything is tagged by date.

Quote from: guest on 10/29/2014, 03:41 PMWe should really try to beef up the Turbo entries on this site:

www.howlongtobeat.com

Currently, there are only 11 games there. I tend to reference that site when I'm thinking of playing a game. I don't have much time to play these days, so knowing my time commitment is important.
Check again...the PCE selection just got a lot bigger :)

Though I still have a lot of work ahead of me (as a 'contributor', apparently) adding in descriptions/art/etc, it's a labor of love!

Quote from: bartre on 10/11/2014, 01:46 PMin my experience, the only memory cards that could be seen by the games themselves were the official sega ones.
every other card i've ever tried required a save, reset to the system menu, and then copy the data to the memory card.
The Innovation 8meg cart can be saved to directly in-game (and, conveniently, functions as an import enabler as well...)

Just gonna leave this here, for those who may not be aware of it: http://insomnia.ac/commentary/on_value_for_money/
this is re-seller/dealer propaganda.  it's the standard line everyone trying to sell anything at an outrageous mark-up tries to use.  "it may not be worth it to you, but it might be to someone else" really means "99.9% of you aren't stupid enough to pay this, but I'm waiting for that .1% moron to walk through that door."

I believe that when most people say "it isnt worth the money" what they are really saying is "from a strictly gameplay standpoint, there just isnt enough game there to justify the expenditure".  a collector may be willing to overlook a bad game just for the rarety/collectibility of a game, but i dont care about them.  this is a TG16/PCE GAMERS forum, not a collectors forum.  Collectors and their subjective definitions of "worth" can go somewhere else.
*looks for like button, can't find one...agrees totally*

Quote from: guest on 09/27/2014, 06:55 PMOK well figured out the bios. I set it to arcade which fixed the problems with the games. Still can't figure out how to get the 161 cart to reset though. Oh well
Send Quan a message about the multicart issue. I'm assuming your Omega is the model w/ the built-in memory unit, as this is a known issue with that model variant. He might have a fix for it by now, so checking with him will be your best bet.
#41
Thanks all for the feedback. I didn't think it was something that was too terribly concerning, but it's still good to know. Chalk up some more OBEY knowledge for *this* guy :)
#42
Well, powering it down and reloading seems to have fixed the problem. I am curious as to why it does that.
#43
So I was taking turns today with a friend of mine playing the game, and we had the strangest thing happen. After taking a break for a while, we came back to it and continued the game from our save...everything loaded correctly, but on top of the music and regular audio there is an *EXTREMELY* annoying (and loud) single tone, somewhat reminiscent of an industrial fire alarm.

It won't seem to go away, and persists unwaveringly during gameplay.  We tried reloading the game a few times to see if it was just a one time thing, but no luck there either. Has anyone experienced this before?

Ok, so I was messing about with a bunch of random cd titles recently and apparently one of them (I forget which atm) didn't like the fact that the sram on the Duo was nearly full. And decided that what I really needed was a total wipe.
