Are they socketed things or something you would need to solder?
#2
know what is really funny with cosmic fantasy 2. every time I bring up the menu, the tile set changes.
#3
well... anyone out near Winchester VA?

I've tried different system cards and even launched the system card (both US and JP) from an everdrive and it does the same thing.

so you guys are thinking it is the base not the TG16 or the cd drive itself?

ok, even a real game doesn't work right for me. I got cosmic phantasy 2 or whatever and the logo screens and the animation screens work fine but the in game graphics are messed up.

The characters on screen render fine but the backgrounds are just a jumbled mess of tiles, like someone took a slide puzzle and messed it all up.

well... for 7 dollars shipped I just grabbed cosmic fantasy 2...so we will see :)
#6
i only piggy backed here instead of making a new thread because my issues, visually, looks exactly like the screenshots he posted.
#7
i can play audio from a cd-r no problem
#8
Can you remove that thing or have an option to turn the sound off OR make the sound off by default on that object?

Autoplaying stuff is HIGHLY annoying....
#9
wouldn't all games have issues then?
#10
If you get the CD player on the screen is that any different than just popping the disc in there and hitting play?

like Ys 1&2, text shows up but graphics are a mess. I tried cleaning the connections between the drive and the base and it seems if I wiggle the drive around and keep trying it never seems to fix it but it seems to effect loading time depending.

I can move the drive and it loads quite quickly but other times it seems to take a good 30 seconds to start to load the game.

I am running CD-R game as I have no legit games to try.
#11
and I assume just because it can read and play audio cds no problem that it doesn't mean games will work?
#12
having the same issue with memorex cd-r.

burning at 7.3 speed on a old computer. Oldest cd-r drive I  have as well. only drive that worked for burning sega cd games.
#13
so...what do you need to play the US version of this? I have a turbo CD setup and an everdrive but I cna't for the life of me determine what/if I can actually play the CD with what I have.

Do I need to get a System Card 3 or can you do it with the everrdrive some how?
#14
damn that was easy... 8.95 well spent...

drive works no problem now...
#15
thanks....

i can't believe i didn't find that video during my search
#16
I ordered one from Console5.com

Is there a video or something that explains really well how to replace it?
#17
actually upon further inspection... the one gear is broken... the one that gets nice an yellow...

I can watch the laser move up and down now and it actually tries to do something but with that gear brokwn it can't just makes a bad noise.

disc still doesn't ever spin up though.
#18
anyone do this?

I have a drive that powers up at least to say PC but discs do not spin up. the gears are intact and not missing any teeth.
#19
cool, thanks. I was using a genesis one on my old turbo that broke so I'll just get the tb+cd one.

not 100% sure yet if I'll keep the dock but does the dock also double as a booster plus so i can save games to it?
#20

that is fine but the "Dock" power supply is not that same as the TB16 or CD attachments.
#22
they don't sell anything for the TB16 in the power department.
#23
is there an aftermarket supply for these or what other options are there? OEM ones are expensive as hell.
#24
well... doesn't matter now. I broke it
#26
I'll get some photos later today. I stupidily encased stuff in hot glue BEFORE testing it like an idiot.
#27
ok so I tried this tonight and failed. I don't get video. My standard composite mod still works fine but the s-video is a no go.

far as I can tell, everything is connected correctly. the grounds work as I can use my multimeter and get a reading from the s-video cable to the pin on the EXT port.

I am not a electronic wiz but I get no reading through the capasitor, is that normal? I am assuming as even a new unused one does the same.

I assume I did something stupid but not sure what. My connections all seem good from the end of the cable to the back of the connector. Not sure how to test the rest.

sorry to bump this but with the transistor, I want to make sure I'm looking at this right.

obviously the Base leg goto HuC6260

is the collector leg the 5 volt line and the emitter to the s-video socket? I assume yes but want to be sure.
