Quote from: spida1a on 05/15/2015, 01:03 AMIt's very cool to see the TurboGrafx getting "love" (or coverage) anywhere.

You know what's funny, though?   I got accused of ripping-off the Angry Nerd in MY very early Turbo Views episode showcasing "Darkwing Duck" (because I was mad at the game).     I am sorry but ... I was definitely angrier than AVGN!   And I beat the damn game for the video as well!   Ha ha!   ;)

=D> The Turbo Views review was much better than James Rolfes satire.

I will admit that I had a lot of fun with goldeneye and star wars shadow of the empire when they came out. That being said the only games I would pick up and play today are mario kart 64 and smash bros if there are people around having a few beer or something. Time did not treat this console well.

I don't think anyone was really being a dick, they were just having a little fun with it. You kind of set yourself up for that.

That might not be illegal but how hard is it going to be to try and spend that 5 at your local drug dealer store?

Joe the game sack videos are top notch!

same here man. im a big n64 lover too!

Quote from: CAPSLOCK on 03/02/2015, 01:56 PMnice job! Too bad N64 has about 5 games that are playable. I don't understand why people need to have a complete library. I love the original Game Boy but there is no reason for me to buy Amazing Spiderman.
for me, the n64 has a lot of playable games and classics. i understand some people dont like it but i grew up playing it so there are a good amount of great games. i wouldn't go for a complete library but games i enjoy
yeah I guess a lot of it has to do with nostalgia. There was a time when I wanted a full snes set. Got to around 200 and realized I didnt want to play most of the crap staring at me from the shelf. I reduced it down to about 40 carts and was instantly happier.

nice raffle, congrats Gentlegamer!!!1!

Man I always look forward to a new game sack! "when you defeat each stages assistant manager" haha that made me laugh!

Seasonal Asphalt worker (paving driveways) long hours in the summer, winters off.

you guys are really generous with the raffles around here! Double Dungeons looks right up my alley.
#16
nice! I know what I'm doing this morning.

I always listen Youth of America by Wipers when I play Thunder Spirits. It works pretty good for any space shooter though.

I usually like Gamester 81's videos, but I have to say most of these consoles are anything but under rated.

Quote from: CAPSLOCK on 02/24/2015, 07:29 AMMy wife plays games when she hears a familiar tune or sees me having fun and realizes she wants to play, but doesn't generally pick it up herself.
My lady is quite the same way.  She doesn't want anything to do with my games until she sees me having fun with a game that isn't a shoot em up (as those drive her CRAZY), and then she'll proceed to steal my controller & ruin my progress.  I really don't mind, though; I'm just elated that ANYONE would voluntarily pick up some of these games, other than me, as I constantly feel special-Ed talking about nothing but retro games to friends & getting glazed "y u no destiny/call of duty/GTA?" looks.
Yeah I'm the same way, feel pretty fortunate that my lady doesn't mind me constantly playing games, watching videos online etc. I'm sure it gets pretty annoying to someone who isn't in the hobby but she enjoys some of the main stream shit she grew up with mostly anything gameboy or donkey kong country, mario etc. which is better than nothing I guess.

I always piss in the shower. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
#21
yeah not a new title in the series, just updated graphics, better ai in SD2, final fantasy adventure in color etc.

Ok, I grew up with a snes and nes like 99% of my friends, never had heard of the turbo until I started collecting as a teenager. Fast forward probably ten years I finally saw one on kijiji (canadian CL) and messaged the guy to come pick it up. I went over to the guys house and he said someone else offered him more and it was sold already. I was pissed off and didn't see another console until last November (another 5-6 years) so I jumped on it! 120$ for TG16, 1 controller, Keith Courage, Final Lap Twin, Galaga 90, and Blazing Lazers.

I was ecstatic, been playing the shit out of Blazing Lazers ever since. I decided to join this site to learn more about the games meet people that collect/play this system.

Also I love Game Sack so when I saw Joe was a mod here I knew this site was legit.

I would love to see a remastered/updated seiken densetsu trilogy.

Quote from: guest on 02/23/2015, 04:45 PMI remember a few beverages that're gone (Surge, Crystal Pepsi, Zima, Orbitz, etc.), but I can't say I miss any of them.

For food stuffs, I miss Necco wafers and Clove/Blackjack/Beemans gum; they're still made, but I generally don't buy food online or visit hipster candy stores.  I also miss the old chili cheese burritos from Taco Bell; you can still get 'em, but I think the chili is a bit different nowadays and no fritos.
I was going to say Orbitz, they were hugely popular for a very short time where I grew up.

I've always enjoyed the snes simpsons games. Krusty's super fun house is sorta like lemmings. Virtual Bart is pretty cool also.

On NES Platoon holds a place in my heart for nostalgic reasons.

I'll enter if I'm able to. I already entered one raffle though and I just joined this forum so there's that to think about.

That's just the way it is in these parts for any retro games. Always over - priced and seldom seen.

That's a beautiful shelf, really nice work!

Hey guys, new here. just started playing turbo. looking forward to reading/chatting with everyone about games I've never played or heard of.

I live in Atlantic Canada. I've seen a console with Keith courage for 150 bucks at a pawn shop, and darkwing duck for 95 bucks hucard only at the one game store we have. It sucks trying to play retro games here.  :-({|=

Hey guys I'm new around here, just started playing tg16 this year. I'd love to get in on this if I can, if not that's cool.
