I think we need to keep the Insanity train rolling.

So here is a little contest.

A high-score contest of sorts.

5 lucky weeners will get I'm Insane for Insanity copies of Insanity.  Scribbled on by yours truly.  You can then love them, burn them, ebay them for a retarded sum, or be like "I don't want that crap, keep it"

All you have to do is the following:

Play the game in predator mode, and see how far you get.

To get to predator mode, hold one of the 4 cardinal directions down while pressing Run to start the game.

I am not telling you which direction to press, only because now you get to try them all and see the other hidden stuff: Arcade Mode, HyperMode (good luck), and an early Pyramid Plunder Prototype!

:)

To prove you are playing Predator mode, either:

1) film the whole thing with a camera and upload it to youtube! (cutting the video if you manage longer than 10 minutes)
2) Play in Ootake and use the video recording option and send me the file or use some other PC video recording thing and YouTube the video!
3) Take pictures (pause it or something) or Screenshots in an emulator.  You can pause it when you get shot and killt that last time and see your final score before the screen blacks out.

It is sort of lurpy, since theres that whole "I forgot to deal with high scores" thing, but I think we're all smart enough to handle it!

and the good news is, the Retrocade has highscore stuff.  No forgetting this time.

Keep checking Aetherbyte.com for news on the Retrocade.  Pyramid plunder is turning out excellent thanks to new graphical work.  No more of my crappy artwork. :D

Ah, excellent idea.  I'll start practicing for this...

And damn, reminds me, I (temporarily, hopefully) lost my copy of Insanity soundtrack...  I put it in one of the boxes during my recent move, but I can't seem to find it now...

Arkhan Asylum

Man I don't think I have any left! :(

I could make more though lol.

OH

The deadline for the contest is 9/22/2010!

That's when Final Fantasy 14 comes out and I disappear from life for a month or so, hahaha

Don't worry Ark, I made enough profit on your games to not need any more.  While you take your petty little shots at me, in the end I'm the one who's laughing.

I'd be curious since you seem to be at a point you don't mind admitting you exploited people, were you ever actually really into collecting the Turbos or was it all a calculated effort to make some money?

I think at one time he generally enjoyed collecting/playing the Turbo, but caught the 'buy/sell bug' in the process, and now he can't stop. It's the thrill of the chase plus the thrill of the money that can be made. Even if he breaks even it'll be worth it to him. These are just my opinions.

Have Windy and Oldskool answer that, their local, hang out with me, and they know me off of the computer.

There isn't a whole lot of point in really answering questions at all.  Anything I say will be picked apart, bashed and the theorys will come out left and right no matter what I say.  So if Wind and Oldskool care to answer so be it, as what I have to say doesn't matter anyway.

not really, I'm laughing my ass off.

I make what you made off hocking my games and gouging some others....and by exploiting a community in a single paycheck basically.

Therefore I have mad skrill and party like it's 1999er and don't have to hock my games and look like a giant sack of dicks to a bunch of people.  Keep in mind you were all "ooh woe is me, I'm just a wittle baby collector.  I needs my games.  Here look I made a collector reference.  Love me please."

So when I am your age, I won't be selling all my toys and looking like an ass to take care of my jacked up mess of a life.

How is it a month before your Hockathon, you blew money on that Turbo kiosk.  Are we gonna see that on ebay next?   You must have really been forward-thinking about your family situation when you were making your e-dick grow with eBay purchases!

And let us not forget, you put that huge collection on a credit card and wanted me to hand you all the money for it asap so you could cover interest!

"The idea was to buy it and resell quickly for a profit" is what you said to me.

You're not exactly mr. moneybags after all it seems!

All of that "YOU ALL JUST JALOUSE BECAUSE I HAVE MONEY TO SPEND ON TOYS" crap was just a front for your poor life managing abilities!

It's pretty sad you have to profit off of a community homebrew effort to buy a house.  That just means you blow too much at life to make money in legit ways.

Meanwhile, I actually have real cash (made the real way: via hard work, motivation, and a kick ass college edumacation) to blow on toys.  and I can and will do so :)   I just did even!  and I still had some left to donate to boob cancer.  We gotta save those glorious B(.Y.)Bs man.

QuoteHave Windy and Oldskool answer that, their local, hang out with me, and they know me off of the computer.
Funny, Windy told me that what you did is pretty stupid and shitty.   and why should they have to answer for your disaster?  Back your own ass up, peckerwood.

Lots of talk, I love how you throw all this flash up about you make this and that for a paycheck.  When you wanted to buy my extra shit you were whining about how you hadn't even got a paycheck yet and you needed to buy new figure skating roller skates first(oops you told me not to mention that, I can see why).  By now you have gotten what maybe 3 paychecks?

I'm not sure where you pull this "messed up life" out of your hat.  I live just fine.  If buying a house and selling off video games I don't need gives me a messed up life maybe you should check your priorities.  As buying a house is far more important than toys.  I didn't sell it all because I had to, I sold it because it made buying a house easier with no bills (which are all now paid off).  I know this is hard to understand for a young guy like you all full of piss and vinegar.

Most people save and plan for years to buy a house.  I decided to do it in a week and was pre-approved for a home loan.  That's why the need to sell everything so fast.
All is well. :)

Thats because you were selling your collection before I had started getting paid since HErpeRpp DUEHRP.  ITS A NEW JOB!   It's not whining.  It's "yeah I'm interested, but you have to wait until the money exists."  I know it's coming, but I can't speed up time just because I want to buy stuff.

That doesn't process in your head though. :) You just charge to credit and ask questions later!  then resell stuff for lolfail prices to fix the debt.

I have other things to spend money on besides your stuff.  Like my bomb-ass 1200$ rollerskates.  So, sending you 2500$ all at once didn't seem too wise.  buying 2500$ worth of TG-16 games doesn't take priority over needing new rollerskates to compete, or buying new guitar stuff to rock out with my cock out.. :D

Giving you a piece at a time seemed legit until your sudden urgency to buy a house.  Now I am glad I held off from sending you 2500$ all at once since you turned out to be a backstabbing penis-feeler.

I've gotten 4 paychecks so far. :) All the glorious cash went to other more worthy people.  good ol' Opethian for example.  and some people in the Netherlands who have some awesome imports.  For fair pricing mind you. :)  Even though the one seller is hard up for money, he still puts his friends in the community above that and doesn't shaft them for personal gain.

SOMETHING YOU FAILED TO DO.

These are the comments I love Sparky.  Think about it.  I bought 98% of my Turbo stuff on eBay (which you guys love to bash left and right).  Hell you and others have made fun of me and others that shop eBay how many times?  You piss and moan and make your own little clubs against eBay, yet I'm supposed to take the 98% of the stuff I bought THERE and sell it here?  What makes you so special that you deserve and are entitled to get MY stuff?

Just because I made posts looking for stuff to buy here doesn't mean I got it all here.

I am dealing with it.  Im responding, which is what forums are for right?  I know alot of people are looking for me to mouth off.  I know I'm being taunted in hopes that I blow up.  People are digging to get me banned, of course that's why they're poking at me...  I've done nothing but sell my own shit for prices people don't like, other than that cry me a river.

I'm not gonna respond in this thread any more as Ark is right, it's his thread for his contest (although he did take the first poke with his lame lil fine print).  He should of expected a response from me.  If some of you would like to have it out in another thread of childish name calling, be my guest and make one.

Personally (ducks the punches)

I hope Roy get's all he needs out of his collection to get his house and maintain it for his kids and himself. Videogames vs Life hmmmmm.......there is no comparison. It's just a hobby. Roy Re-assessed his situation and is grabbing the bull by the horns and putting together what he needs too. He paid alot of money  for his collection he got some deals and he didn't get any deals at the same time. Besides it's his to do with as he pleases he paid the money for the stuff nobody else did.

He didn't put a years worth of work into a homebrew game.  Noone deserves >30$ for the work except the actual members who did it. It was made to be enjoyed and collected, not resold.

All the other fast reselling bullshit is fine, whatever.  Some people are just useless dicks that want to profit no matter who gets hosed.  Still ironic hes the author of the gouging thread when hes the biggest gouger here.

yknow, since he jacked a homebrew game up in price to buy a house.

Maybe you missed the fact that I decided in all of the time span of a WEEK to buy a house.  It wasn't planned.  Had I known at the time I was going to buy a house, I wouldn't have bought it all.  Ok, I'm guilty of poor planning but you love to just act like I'm in some horrible financial situation.  If that was the case how are all of my credit cards paid off and I still have 75% of my collection left?  You're just talking out of your ass.  If I was in such horrible shape with my credit card debt (as you claim) and I make no money (as you claim) how exactly did I get a loan for a house?   :-k

ah shit, not more of this.... REALLY.

OK, Ark, he has a right to have issue, Roy trying to make a (extra) buck (or two (hundred)) off of a Homebrew title that is still readily available, is shady dealings worthy of being blackballed as a seller. Also the means by which he came across this  "collectible" version of the game makes the whole issue underhanded. So Arkhan, has a right to be upset and in traditional Arkhan style, does it through a series of out of control outbursts and insults. I think we have all seen this acouple of times before, its no shock. In fact, its expected really. Should we tolerate it (personally, I don't care one way or that other, its part of his odd charm to me), thats up for debate at another time, in another place, still, its no suprise.

Now, Roy, yeah OK, your getting a house that you decided to buy in a week (which I will say is the perfect amount of time to make such a life alteringly huge decision). Thats all well and good but you should have thought before you acted and if you did think before you acted then accept the consequences of your decision. It seems that there is nothing you can say to salve this wound. You have bitten this community twice and in such a business driven (so to speak) community, like this one, that may have been one to many bites. You unabashedly are unconcerned with what you did, you feel justified. Thats fine, stop trying to smooth it over and just let the (Hu)cards fall where they will and move on.

A large portion of this community have spoken as to what they think, that doesn't make there opinions an answer, just a guide. Personally I always enjoyed your comments but as a person developing games for this community I am at a loss as to what to think of it. I'm not making games for people to buy houses with, I just want to make a game people are going to enjoy an treasure as much as I do my Turbo games.

I for one, won't be participating in the contest, I don't have a copy of Insanity....

Thanks for stepping in and being a mediator. :) Each side of this has their valid points, though a bit lopsided IMO. Arkhan is justifiably pissed, and Roy made a big decision in deciding to buy a house.

Arkhan, shit like this happens man. It shouldn't, but it does.

Roy, I congratulate you in the purchase of your new home. Getting a loan isn't easy. I just wish you went about it in a different way. You got your loan so you shouldn't really need any outside funding. The bank loaned you all you would need to buy your house. Just your payments were going to be slightly higher if you didn't have the two or three grand extra to lay down through selling parts of your collection. If it was me I would have paid the extra in monthly payments and kept my collection.

RoyVegas

Cool, a couple calmer people about the issue.  Don't get me wrong here guys I'm not saying Ark should be the happiest camper about me selling his games for more than I paid for them.  But I also don't think it makes me some horrible person.  I didn't really WANT to sell off my collection, but when you're talking about making life easier on your family, do you keep the games or live better daily?  Noone will argue that family comes first(except this case, apparently some people think I should have thought about the community here first).

Some people have acted like it's some sob story, family blah blah.  There's no sob story to it, being a single parent I'm making day to day living easier on myself and my kids.  I ask myself why I even bother trying to explain it when most of what I say will fall on deaf ears.

Mathius:  You say the home loan will cover all my costs so I don't really need much money.  What about utilities set ups, moving, new furniture, odds and ends and unexpected costs?  I wanted to make sure all of my bills were paid off (which they are now) to have more money each month to live on.  You mention that the extra 2-3 thousand dollars won't help much.  We aren't talking that little of an amount of money at all.  So far I've sold over $8000 in games and I haven't even sold 1/2 my collection yet.  Granted a lot of the high dollar games are gone but I still have some high ticket games, systems and tons of mid range stuff left and I haven't even listed everything yet.  We aren't talking chump change and with the amount of money wrapped up in it, it really WILL help.

All is well. :)

hahahaha... of coarse Roy family comes first but how about maybe just thinking of the community a little before you list all your stuff on ebay? It was a place you signed up and thought was good enough to hang out with 800 plus posts later and many want lists.

How hard is it to ask over here or on digitpress (where you have bought at least 22 times) if anyone would like to buy any of your games?

Sure, I could have asked.  That plays both ways does it not?  There were a handful of people that took the inititive and the time to send me messages and ask me if we could work out deals on stuff they wanted that they knew I had.  They are happily sitting with their games at home and enjoying them right now.  They took the time to see if we could work out a deal, and we did.  Some people just choose to sit back and complain.  All those people ended up with is a handful of nothing and their bitter attitudes.  Alot of my high end stuff ended up in the hands of members here that took a few minutes of their time to make deals with me.  Hell if someone can't even take the time to send me a message and ask, well that's their lazyness and their problem.  You shouldn't assume that all of my stuff sold on eBay because it didn't.

You need to buff that reading comprehension up a bit there champaroonie.  Maybe ease up on the bowflex and try some Dr. Seuss.

"What happens in vegas"

Read it carefully.

Did YOU happen in vegas?  NO. YOU SURE DIDN'T!

Nowhere did I say I was going to destroy YOU.  Simp.

Now what DID happen in Vegas?

Oh, I dunno, some bullshit ebayfail gouging nonsense went down.

and who destroyed that and made lulz for all, and brought it to the communities attention?

THAT'D BE ME.

and, you are a sissy.  You back peddle and tone down your lol im so cash money records nonsense once shit hits the fan.  That makes you a sissy.  You're all woopwoop spend it up, wave it around like a gangsta............as long as the entire forum isn't making fun of you for it.

Why defend yourself anyways.  Why not just leave.  I mean you did say you were going to leave once you got your magical chase.

I think any chance for retribution sailed away awhile ago.  N'Sync has a better chance of making a comeback.

Roy Vegas is the high roller type. The guy who, like many, somehow, equates owning a bunch of horrifically overpriced TG-16 crap with being a baller. Having three sealed copies of Darkwing Suck is like rolling on dubs for this guy.

He pretty much has said that because he got butt raped by insane eBay prices for the shit he bought, that he deserves to screw people on the other end when it sells it off. Its the whole "don't hate the player, hate the game" bullshit, and any true capitalist lives, dies, and kills by this school of though. Force majeure, anything that makes money is inherently moral. I expect nothing less. In fact, I expect more, much more, when he sells off the rest of his collection of cardboard boxes and shrink wrap.

What I don't get is why anyone else here expected anything else, why you expected the Master P of TG-16 to sell you guys games at a loss. That's kind of baffling.

Aside from all this though, completely and totally separate...the thing with Insanity is pretty fucking disgusting. People who are decent human beings just don't so that kind of thing. R. Vegas has pretty much always made me sick, but I thought he at least had some tact or decorum. Most scum do since it helps them fit in better with decent human beings and lets them function within society as if they belonged. I guess I gave him too much credit.

I don't think he should be banned, but I do question why the hell he would even want to hang around now that everyone's opinion of him is as low as mine always was.

I imagine him going to whatever corner of the internet now houses PCEngineHell and battling it out in some sort of cyberspace equivalent of the Phantom Zone, gouger versus righteous zealot, for all eternity.

I was going to insert a cool animated gif of the Phantom Zone here from Superman 1979, but I couldn't find one.

Quote from: RoyVegas on 07/29/2010, 11:09 PMThere's no sob story to it, being a single parent I'm making day to day living easier on myself and my kids.

Not trying to continue this, really am not. But, couldn't let this go by. I mean I really should but, I just couldn't. I'm nearly a single parent and as I have said I haven't purchased a Turbo game in over 5 years and haven't purchased a game for myself in well over a years. Don't get me wrong, I can spend $20 here and there on myself but hundreds of dollars on a collection of games, nah. I certainly wouldn't turn around and sell it off. Sounds to me though like you spent irresponsibly and then needed to make up for it. But really I think you need a little bit of lying in the bed you made, that includes tucking the kids into it. Thats the way it goes. Its how we learn from our mistakes. I have two kids, I am divorced (I do NOT live in a van down by the river), and I have spent a fair bit of money on selfish things, but I've never broken the bank, not yet.

I think where people have issue is that selling your collection seems to be a bandage on a self inflicted wound. Now, seeing that you jacked up the prices, especially on a game that was created by someone you were familiar with, for a game thats still readily available (also after having hypocritcally started an entire thread in these forums about OTHER PEOPLE Gouging prices) made the act of selling your games shady. They feel burned (again) by you and its seems most people have had enough.

Again, I'm still gonna fall on the neutral side of thi.... why the hell am I still talking. People are people, we are shitty, ignorant, and love to complain. Just look at any social networking site. Thats all it is bitch bitch bitch piss and moan. We hold people on these moral pedestals as if there is a moral line in the sand that people can cross. They cross it everytime and we still act like it should matter. It doesn't. What it comes down to is "What can I live with."  Roy, if you can live with your actions, then as I mentioned do it. But your constant rebuttals seems to indicate your wishing everybody here wasn't reacting the way they are..... well they are. I think they wouldn't react this way if you didn't just seem to shit on them. One time is forgiveable, two times it seems, is just too much. Your actions started you down the path your on so you can either get off the path or keep walking down it, take your lumps, and hope it passes (or your forgiven)

I know not everyone has chimed in on this. I think most people would rather just leave it alone (and by the gods I should have), either because they don't feel they need to, they don't care one way or the other, or they don't think any wrong was committed. Thats cool. But........ by the gods why am I STILL talking.... Babbling at this point.
A dark tide will rise and she will walk again. He is coming.....

I could care less that this guy bought/sold bunch of crap on ebay.  That's his prerogative.

But doing it with Insanity -- basically backstabbing someone who you interacted with, albeit cyberspace, is indeed pretty fucking sick.  I wouldn't trust anyone like that as far as I could throw them.

Anyway, I'm also done with this whole bit.  It truly baffles me why he'd want to stick around here, unless he somehow gets off on negative attention.

Quote from: guest on 07/30/2010, 01:07 AMHow hard is it to ask over here or on digitpress (where you have bought at least 22 times) if anyone would like to buy any of your games?
You shouldn't assume that all of my stuff sold on eBay because it didn't.
hahahahaha... well Roy, that is quite the twist on my question & you really tried to work that in your favor didnt ya?  <<claps hands>>  "That plays both ways does it not?".... no it does not!!!...you need to tell people first your selling there smart guy.... hahahaha...

good bye Roy and happy bidding

yaknow, buying that turbo kiosk for 800$ was stupid.  That 800$ could have gone a long way in making your kids happy, AMIRITE?

Sounds like you're too selfish to be a parent, lol.

also, you brag about how your ex comes and blows you (in shoutbox).  real good.  And didn't you say she needed some money and was crying about it? :D

What'd you do, slam the door in her face, put on your Caesars Palace crown, plop down on your throne made out of eBay boxes and go "I AM KING MONEY.  I ANSWER TO NOONE."?

I think your army of one attitude is pretty hilarious and lame.  I also think you're unfit to reproduce, and probably unfit to have a companion.

More personal attacks Ark?  Making valid points about me reselling my stuff is fine.  Personal attacks on my parenting?  You have no idea what I've sacrificed for my kids.  I gave up my fucking career just to get custody of them.  Take your low level 12 year old personal attacks and shovem up your ass.
All is well. :)

You called me gay for rollerskating.  Who's a 12 year old?  If you can't take the heat don't bring the noise.

Interesting logic, BigMoney.

So, humpin dudes is a gay thing to do, but you can do it and not be gay?

HMMM.

Is that why you did some lowlife backstabbing nonsense, but you're still a good, cool dood?

I'm more bothered by what he did to the shmuck who bought it. Anyone who creates content better get used to seeing people do whatever the want with it. I'm sure Sega would love to have some of the resell profits from $300 copies of Radient Silvergun, but they just have to deal with it. I mean, of course its still hella skeezy, and I'd never do a thing like it, but compared to the "real world" its nothing.

Selling a guy a game for $175 just because he doesn't know you can still buy it for $30 from the original source is pretty scum. Kind of like those Sapphire bootlegs going for hundreds on YJA when the original pirate still had them on his site for $40. This happened a lot with last minute UK Neo Geo Pocket stuff. I did my research and bought my games for ₤20 from the shops SNK shipped them to when other guys (who seem to not understand that eBay isn't the only place to buy games) were paying $250.

Yes, this is true, but you also have to remember Sega was doing it professionally and everyone was getting paid.... and it was mass-sales and etc. etc.

This was pro-bono up til press/sell time and the system in question is pretty dead!
