That "ASE" guy has been selling Turbo stuff on eBay for five years at least, perhaps longer. I bought a game off him once in 2005 or earlier and somehow he got my home phone number (from Paypal? not sure) and called me like two minutes after I completed paying out for the auction. It was really creepy. I never bought from him again.

I've bought 3 or 4 things from that ASE guy as well, but they were honestly very standard transactions...no creepy phone calls, and I felt the prices were fair.

But that was like five years ago. Maybe he's changed.

What was the call about? Was there even a good reason to call? That's just strange.

I don't remember exactly. It was something along the lines of him wanting to "make contact" with his customers and assure me that I'd receive the "best service possible." Don't get me wrong-- the item was in perfect condition and he shipped extremely fast. The call was very off-putting though.

I'm not the kind of guy that cares about "making contact" with sellers on eBay.

His SMB DS is a 90, which is NOT perfect (at least, according to VGA). Their '90' is probably equivalent to what you'd find for 1/4 the price at any store. This guy is an ass, plain and simple.

I played one of those things when the KB stores were still open... it's an alright conversion of the arcade game. I missed the win poses during the ending though... they just stand in their idle stance when they all come out for the credits rather than doing their win poses like in the arcade version.

That's actually not a half bad price for a new/sealed copy. I bought a new/sealed copy a number of years back for $250, and that was considered more or less unheard of.

Is any game really worth $300 in terms of gameplay? It's pricey because it's sealed and actually somewhat rare, unlike the endless R4R3 L@@K!!1! copies of Keith Courage and Momo Tarou.

I got my minty fresh copy last year in a lot with a bunch of other RPGs for $300ish, and another copy sold around the same time for around $130, so it can definitely be had for less. Neither copy was sealed, though.
