What do you think the worst TG16 game is? I've tried to list off all the most likely culprits. Let me know if you have any more to add.

I voted Turrican, as I don't think there was a single turbo game i could have been more disappointed in. Imagine how awesome it could have been. The Genesis and SNES got amazing ports... just not fair!

I voted Gunboat. Maybe there's a good game in there somewhere, but I can't find it. I was tempted to vote Night Creatures, though. And I fuckin' HATE Ghost Manor. I gave that game it's fair shake, but it's like Chutes n' Ladders only not nearly as fun.

Also, Turrican is alright. It's all about the cheat code. ;)

Well the only one of those I currently own is Time Cruise and I think it's far from being the worst game on the system. It doesn't hold a candle to the Crush games, but it's still fun to play from time to time. I was actually playing it this morning.

Of the other games listed, I've owned China Warrior and Turrican in the past and didn't care for either of them, but don't know if I'd consider them the worst either....

I've avoided all of the others due to their poor reputation, so I haven't voted yet.

Maybe some day I'll get to experience the awfulness of some of these games.

Falcon all the way. #1 worst game on the TG16.

Gunboat at least has some vibrant colors and it's possible to (sort of) figure out the control scheme.

Timeball gets off the hook because it was programmed in 1983 and some puzzle lovers tolerate it.

Ballistix doesn't require any manual reading and it's fifteen minutes of mindless fun for 1 or 2 players before boredom sets in. I imagine it's like Hungry Hungry Hippos, except I've never played Hungry Hungry Hippos.

All of the other games are mediocre to average platformers with the exception of Ghost Manor, which is GOOD if you're not a pussy.

Initially when compiling names for the list I asked a few people which TurboGrafx games they hated, Ghost Manor came up and wound up on the poll. It has 0 votes as of right now. So clearly it's far from the worst. I'm surprised no one went with Darkwing Duck as a lot of people complained about it as well.

I must be the only one that likes Ballistix. Granted I first played it on the Amiga. A reason so many other games have yet to get votes is probably because others have played Falcon.

I'm surprised by how many people seem to like Ghost Manor. I played it back in the day, and then bought it again recently. I remembered disliking it, but because of the Duomazov review, I decided to take another serious crack at it. I spent an entire afternoon fumbling with the game, climbing up levels, only to get knocked back down by some shit-ass enemy. It was like playing Chutes n' Ladders into infinity.

It's not the worst game on the Turbo (sadly), but IMO it's far from even being a "good" game. It's a shame, too, because I love the art style and the music. Ghost Manor and Night Creatures both fall into the same category for me: games with really nice presentation whose gameplay is dogshit. This is all just my personal opinion. If you like the game, I don't mean to offend.

And...let the flaming begin! ;)

I totally agree with you on Night Creatures, the gameplay is practically unbearable for me. It could have been a lot better.

I only played 4 games on the list. My vote goes to Night Creatures since that is the "worst" US Turbo Grafx game that I've played so far.

I'm not sure that anyone said that they "like" it. My intepretation was that they felt Ghost Manor simply isn't as terrible as others.

The gameplay in Ghost Manor is quick, responsive, and intuitive--a world apart from Night Creatures. Frustration sets in because the level design on stage 2, coupled with the insanely-vicious difficultly, can make things repetitive. Still, the contempt for Ghost Manor is strange because people thrive on the challenge of getting knocked back, killed, and restarting the level a million times when playing side-scrolling games like Ninja Gaiden and Ghouls and Ghosts. Ghost Manor isn't much different, only less-linear.

Falcon is the suck for sure!!!

The TG-16 port of gunboat is pretty rough. Only reason why I don't hate it much is that I kind of enjoyed playing the DOS version of it on my old 386sx back in 1990. This reminds me a lot of other DOS battle sim games that played like it. Examples: M-1 Abrams Battle Tank, 688 Attack Sub, A-10 Tank Killer, Red Baron, etc...
