Anyone have a spare? Thanks!!! :)

You can go to radio shack and get a replacement that works great,so unless you want a matching black one that's official, you might have better luck going to Radio Shack....

Are you looking for an official one for collecting purposes, or do you just want to be able to use your Turbo?

This "max-level forum psycho" () destroyed TWO PC Engine groups in rage: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook "Because Chris 'Shadowland' Runyon!," then the other by Aaron Nanto "Because Le NightWolve!" Both times he blamed the Aarons in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!

I'm looking to get the actual AC adapter, in part because I like having the original components to a system, and also because I know it'll be the proper voltage and amperage as opposed to a 3rd party product. I've been using a Genesis AC adapter for a while now without issue (it's a 9v supply vs a 10.5v supply, but it works all the same), but should I ever decide to sell it, I'll have the official AC adapter to go along with it.

So I'm guessing that, while probably on the high side, the prices I've seen on eBay aren't too far from the truth in cost, are they?

There were tons of boxed, brand new official ones for sale a few years back when Turbo Zone direct went under.

You should be able to find one for a reasonable price.  Don't believe ebay.  They're mental on ebay.

oh and make sure you don't fall for crap like this:

It's not a real one.

The real one is a brick between two connectors.  It's awesome.  No stupid Sega Genesis power strip hogging crap.

So, I didn't get a response... anyone else have one?

roflmao

It's not OEM, but Retro Game Cave sells one that was designed specifically for the Turbografx-16: http://www.retrogamecave.com/ac-adapter-central.html  It's about 2/3 of the way down the page.

I bought an AC adapter from them for my Express and aside from the cord being a little shorter than I was hoping, it's pretty slick.  It's even has a label on it stating that it's for the Express.

Hm. I have a Genesis adapter in it right now, which seems to work fine, but I don't know if the lower voltage would have any effect on things like flash carts and the like. I'm thinking not, since it steps the 9v down to 5v anyway, but still... I'll take a look. Thanks. :)

If you want an original tg 16 ac adapter I have some extras. This is for the standard system only not the CD add on. Just sent you a pm.

DynamiteSJ

As longs as the Voltage and mA is correct you should be fine.. as long as you dont use cheap china made ac adapter which might not supply clean power.

@ Dynamite - Amperage just needs to be rated at or higher than what the system draws, preferably higher. The fact that the stock AC is taking 10.5v and uses a voltage regulator to keep things ~ 5v across the board should mean that I can get by with a 9v adapter without worrying about undervolting it. I just like to have OEM equipment, for a variety of reasons.

@ Keith - Damnit, I totally missed your post and PM! I spent most of my spare cash this paycheck, and TBH, I'm trying to sell the system shortly (one of those reasons I alluded to above). If you still have one after the holidays, I'll nab it from you.

DynamiteSJ

I also got a original tg16 ac adapter available.. grab it from keith first.. but if hes out.. hit me up if i still have it

Awesome. Thanks to both of you!
