Sexiest hand held system ever

Ok, i lied, its time for a new series. What is your opinion on the sexiest hand held system ever. My top 5 are:

1. Turbo expresss/Pc-engine gt:  this is a no brainer for me, truly the best, and heavy enough to mug someone (personal defense is a plus)
2. Dingo A320:  I have always been a fan of the black color and sharp lines
3. Gameboy play it loud series: Original gameboy looks, many different colors.
4. Redant Gameaxe: plays famicom games and looks slick!
5. Sega nomad:  Love the color, and lines.

The Dingoo A320 was designed to look similar to the bottom half of a nintendo ds. While i can see a similar lay out to the the gameboy micro, saying its a rip off is a stretch. just my two bits.

The PSP is one sexy beast.  Definitely want to fuck it.

The TurboExpress is cool but the screen is too small and it looks disproportionate because of that to me.

The Nomad kind of bothers me because of the weird slanted shape that is around the screen.

The Neo Geo Pocket Color, despite being boxy looks pretty damn cool to me.  The silver or black one, not the goofy camouflaged ones.

The original GameBoy looks good but mainly because it is iconic more than anything.

The Game Gear looks pretty bad and so does the first model Lynx.  The second model looked kind of cool, though.

PS Vita is pretty damn sexy too and doesnt really count, but one of my favorite hand helds of all time was Radio Shack Plane & Tank.

The original DS Lite is a nice looking system in my opinion. Clean lines, simple design. Doesn't distract from the gameplay experience. Too bad the build-quality and materials are so cheap and flimsy.

I haven't owned an exhaustive list of handhelds, so my experience is fairly limited.  Having said that:

• Turbo Express/GT - Still an amazing looking system.  thesteve's screen mod makes it that much more unbelievably awesome.  I want that done to mine.
• PC Engine LT - Though I guess technically it's a handheld, it's not technically portable (meaning it runs off batteries), afaik. Still, it's a freaking thing of beauty (at least in magazines and on the internet).
• GBA SP - Basically a portable SNES with a killer battery life and amazing screen?  And plays standard Gameboy/ GBC games? Sweet!  I wish it had a standard headphone jack though...

Honorable Mention:

• Neo Geo Pocket Color - If it had a backlit screen and there was a way to play its games on a normal TV, this system probably would have ranked higher, but I just never got into the system like I had hoped to.

GBA SP was awesome.  The redesign that made the system something that even businessmen didn't mind holding on the train to work.  If the GBA was never redesigned, I guarantee it would've never had the impact it did.

I dont know about that. The GBA sold a butt load of units before the sp. I think the us sales of the sp were about 3.5 mil, considerably lower than the original GBA.  However, there is no question that the SP kept the GBA going for years to come.  The model one sp though was abit of a letdown. the model two was much better in my opinion. The GBA SP is definately solid pedigree.

Wow, I didn't even realize they came out with a revision to the GBA SP.  Now I want to hunt down a model 2!  A back-lit screen sounds way nicer than the one I have.  Still, it's an awesome little handheld.

The original was a side light (revision was a backlight) IIRC...it was noticeably better IMO.

I love the GBA SP I have, but having a completely even backlight as opposed to a light at the bottom sounds like it would make a huge difference.  Either way, I wasn't interested in the GBA at all until the SP came out.  I love that it folds up so the screen stays protected.

Yes the GBA SP with the new and improved backlit screen is the tits.  I even got a hold of a Pelican Leather Glove/ protector for it.

The backlight SP is definitely the best of the bunch, but the side lit one wasn't too shabby.  I actually only used a side one for the entire life of the SP, and then someone at a flea market was selling a CIB SP for $10, so I figured why not?  When I got it home I realized it was the better version, and while it was better, I wouldn't call it revolutionary.

I think my two favorite GBA systems are the Famicom Micro which was mention before and the NES GBA SP.  They both have a lot of character, and it's cool that a company like Nintendo mixed the past with the present when they made their models.  I honestly always hoped for a Wii with a similar design choice.

I actually prefer the first SP. The revised screen is much better lit, but it's from the same era as the DS Lite and therefor has that same overly green tint to it that just totally fucks with games, especially the earlier ones which had color design to go with the super dark OG GBA. If given a choice between things being overly blue (SP1) and overly green (SP2), I'll take the blue.

The NES GBA SP was very slick and sexy, too bad I really didn't like the software.

Love, love, love NGPC, ever since I first saw previews for it in EGM. I think the original NGP had even cooler designs too. My most favorite handheld ever, best software hands down!

As far as sexiest, the Express and Game Gear get my mojo flowing the most.

The white b/w NGP with chrome buttons and red stick...I fucking love that thing. Unfortunately they never made anything like that in either of the two generations of the Color.

A similar thing is true of the Wonderswan. The best Wonderswan, the Swan Crystal, only comes in four crappy-ass colors, where as with the older systems you had all sorts of awesome designs, including Gundam and Zaku versions with custom start-up sounds.

As much as I like the Game Gear, it's not especially sexy. The Lynx model 2 and the Turbo Express both have it beat in that department.

The Gameboy Color was nicer than it's predecessor, but not really sexy. but anything would look sexy when your only competition, in the late 90s, was the Game.com.

The Wonderswan was pretty, and the WSC made it even better. By comparison, the NGPC was kinda clunky. (but oh, that clicky stick.)

The Gameboy Advance SP was pretty nice looking, as is the DSLite. The Original DS and Advance were not so nice. The Gameboy Micro was nice, but not as nice as a fashion accessory should have been.

I have had my GP2X Wiz handheld since it was launched.  It still works like a champ.  I believe Ceti has one as well.  It doesn't have built in emulators but the emulators are super easy to install and get working.  I mainly use it for Genesis/MD Sega CD, Amiga, Atari ST, SNES, MAME (runs and old build and a lot of games need overclocking), Final Burn Alpha, GnGeo, and most importantly, Tg-16.  The TG-16/PC-E emulator is amazing!  The only emulators that need overclocking are Amiga, MAME, and SNES.  Most SNES games are full speed minus a the special Chip games.  I still use the thing every day.  It's better for people that have smaller hands.  I believe ThinkGeek still sells them for $100.  If you're into oldschool emulation on the go it really is a great little hand held. 

Guyjin did your screens get pixel rot or did you happen to drop it?  I heard that people who have dropped their handheld have had the screen eventually go bad.

You can get a cream to fix that. The spots and dry, cracked condition are tell-take signs of crotch fungus.

2) Game Boy Advance(Original). I've loved the look of this fantastic little system ever since I first saw it. Same reason I like my other 2 picks, very sleek design, its only flaw in my eyes are its at times awkward to use shoulder buttons.

3) Sony PSP-3000. If it wasn't for the absolutely piss poor ergonomics these have I might actually rank it 1st. Its extremely sleek and when clean of finger prints drop dead gorgeous.

I LOVE THIS THING, even if its just for the shear audacity of it. It actually sucks to use. After you get a few dozen hours on the little stick attachment thing it starts to get worse and worse, eventually giving you the same response as a worn out Genesis controller (ie: I know I pushed up, I can see my finger on the "up" arrow right now. Why is my dude walking to the left!?!)

The irony is that in this day in age the NGP, despite dying rather quickly, is WAY more fun to play than a Gameboy Color.
