It's easy for someone who just showed up to take a snapshot of his current antics and generate a perceived agenda based on it. Yeah, he presented some good information BITD.  And he called some well-deserved jerks out on their BS.  And he hooked me up with a free Genny PSU at shipping cost only.  And a broken clock is right twice a day.

He's not the worst guy in the world, but he got away with an unbelievable amount of crap.  We have a few guys who know how to balance their "Valued Contributor:Dickwad Ratio", but Mike was never one of them.  His constant fussing, swearing, post editing, and unintelligible grammar sucked.  His endless flame wars and paragraphs upon paragraphs of quotations and response to every last sentence were retarded.  He took every passing comment as a personal insult and passed immediate judgement and retaliation on every last rookie and clueless seller.  Worst of all was his penchant to get really, really, creepily personal. The only way he could "win" arguments was by resorting to all sorts of off-site detective work.  We still have people's home addresses and personal pictures that Mike posted sitting on these boards.  The fact that you and the other mods never called him on that or removed any of the posts shows a real lack of judgement.

In my opinion, any time someone posts a picture of themselves here (or anywhere online, for that matter), they're essentially giving that property up to the public domain. If people don't want their photos available online for anyone to see, they shouldn't post them in the first place. It's not like someone snuck into their homes and stole the pictures against their will.

Addresses, on the other hand, are another story (unless you're Nintega, who forfeited all rights to "fair treatment" here 4-5 years ago). If there are personal addresses up here as you claim, PM me privately with links to the threads and I'll remove them. On the other hand, had anyone at any point contacted me and asked me to remove their info from public threads, I would have complied without hesitation. I can recall only one such instance, and it was addressed promptly, if memory serves.

As for the rest of it, I can't justify going and disciplining/banning someone just because you (that's a collective "you," not necessarily you specifically) happen to dislike the individual in question. Mike's often been abrasive in his tactics and has a knack for creating polarized opinions of himself among fellow forum members. Unfortunately for those championing his permanent dispatch, a personal grudge and occasional poor grammar isn't sufficient grounds.

It's easy to sit on the sidelines and play armchair moderator, but I (can't speak for the other two) have to try my hardest to stay neutral on these issues and find a happy medium between doing nothing and having an itchy trigger finger. Lord knows I don't always succeed. Sadly, there's no such thing as a perfect world (or a perfect moderator). That's not a lack of judgement... That's life.

I've been online since '97 and I've been to many forums and out of everyone of them, I have seen people who did a whole lot more than just toe the line and get away with it because they had a little fan club or some other form of status.

I've even seen psychos, *real*, full-fledged psychos make death threats against other members and in one case even a politician of high stature and nobody did or said a single thing.

This kind of garbage happens all over the place.

I'm not telling you who to judge or what places to judge, I'm just saying that every "community" has it's big shots and cliques and it's best to just avoid them and let them wallow in their own bile.

From this day forward I will make sure that I do extensive research on the reputation of any forum I even consider joining before I sign up.

Being that this one belonged to Aaron and my experiences talking to him and seeing what all he's done with his site over the years, I just automatically assumed that this would be a friendly place so, I jumped right in without checking first.

I told myself *not* to get involved in anything political but, I slipped and did so anyway.
I was just trying to help shed some light on why some things are the way that they are
but, a lot of people took it the wrong way so, I blew my top and got all sarcastic about it.

I decided to let it go and I thought it was over with until the forum bulldog came after me,

I don't know where this guy is from, what kind of status he has here or what kind of contributions he's made to the community but, I've seen his kind before.

I have an online past of being an asshole too but, I've grown up since then and decided to let sleeping dogs lie.

This is the first video game oriented community that I've been to that has made me wonder if there is even any point in collecting games at all.
Suddenly it isn't fun and friendly any more.
Most of what I've seen since I signed up here are a bunch of overgrown toddlers who have to have their diapers changed every 5 minutes by some poor, tired, harried moderator who probably wishes that they were somewhere else.

I used to contribute on there until DeGrippo took the site down and it got cloned. I entered in a entry for Dave since he was reviewing games on his youtube channel. Dave finally got around to googling himself, saw the entry, got pissed, went section 8, tried to remove his entry, and made me a entry too, which I did find pretty funny, but it needed to be fixed up a bit. I then edited to suit my own needs. I kinda wonder if anyone did bother to write to the address I entered in on there in one of my edits, since its Wal-Marts Headquarters and all. I could just imagine some nobody desk clerk trying to figure out what to do with letters addressed to me.

Anyway, Dave then made multiple accounts trying to remove his own entry over and over again, and he kept getting shut down as I and other sysops & contribs kept putting it back up on there to piss him off moar and moar. You being a clueless paranoid noob out of the loop and all, I'd normally not expect you to know about any of this at all, especially since not all of it is even related to here. The only reason you'd even know about the entry is either:

A. Dave sent you a link to the cloned site entry, before he was banned here again, or another clown sent it to you.
OR
B. You got desperate and googled me for any dirt you could find after I mopped the floor with you here.

The fact that you're supposedly such a efficient conspiracy wackamole, with your vast research skills and all, had you dug a little deeper, you'd know all the above, so I guess you're not that great a researcher after all.
