@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

PCE Daisakusen!! is where it's at.  It's only for PCE games, but that other shit doesn't matter anyhow.

Yep, for Nintendo and Sega stuff, NintendoAge.com and its sibling site SegaAge.com have a nice listing tool as well.

I recently got a Video Game Manager app for my iPod Touch that is quite handy. In addition to keeping track of your collection, you can enter high scores, how much you paid for a game, and some other features. Did I mention that it was free?

I used to use GameTZ also but got tired of the nag e-mails after not using the account for 60 days...

This might not fit the bill but my buddy turned me on to Collectorz for Games: http://www.collectorz.com/game/

It's a bit pricey (think it was $30 for the software and $10 for the iPad app) but it's SUPER robust and the iPad presentation of it all is really slick. If you're walking around a convention or show floor it's a really easy way to keep track of what you have, what you need, etc. Plus it's made by a mom and pop software dev so I don't feel bad about supporting these folks. There's add-on options to post your collection online (which frankly I think should be free with the software, but whatever) and a feature to use a USB barcode scanner to scan in game information vs. having to type it all in.

Both of these have caught my eye in the past, but I haven't sat down to spend any time with them yet.

I just use google docs for collections that I do not have sites for, example here. It does not have pretty pictures but works well for my needs when I'm hunting down games. As you can see you can generate a link and share it to the world.

I played with 1up.com but it was sorely lacking in the Turbo department (and why both listing your collection if you can't showcase the best console ever?)

I use PCE Daisakusen, LDDB and VAPS for dedicated collections.

that seems pretty cool. Ive never used google docs before. Is it easy to get the links in there and what not ?

I've been using Backloggery the last couple of years. I like it, although it doesn't have a mobile site or app to view on mobile devices. Works perfect for my needs.

You use a little bit of a formula, i.e.  "=hyperlink(ʺhttp://www.atariage.com/software_page.html?SoftwareLabelID=603ʺ;ʺ603ʺ)"

I just cut'n paste from the entry above and replace the ###.

Out of curiously, how many here keep track of what they pay for games?

I've heard some gougers over the years say things like "I will not take a loss on these games!", but I never imagined normal people would bother tracking their games like investments on the stock market. My memory retains ballpark figures for stuff I've paid over $30 for, but I don't buy that much.

i know the price of some games, but most i just ballpark it. I mainly want to put my collection up for a way to keep track of it all. also for insurance reasons.

I'm the same way with ballpark figures but I might as well take advantage of the app now that I have it and save all of the relevant info.

Not really.  I can give a pretty good estimate and/or look up the paypal receipt for many, but I don't make any effort to keep tabs on 'em.

I'm in the same boat.  When I get a game from a store, I'll often put the receipt in the game case, if the game came with a case.  I buy a lot of games loose, so that isn't always an option.  But I do that with DVDs and books as well (free bookmark!).

PikachuWarrior

On some games, I make a note next to the game for what price I paid. More like a means of checking what the current market value is online more than tracking gains/losses in % over a period of time.
