I'm starting to wonder really how stupid people are. Who are these hoarders that pay stupid amounts of money for common games? I swear it has to be the same five people stockpiling them to build a house or something. Hu Bricks?

I'm guessing these Sellers have multiple accounts.  One account to put the item up and another to purchase the product themselves.  This creates an imaginary market where the Seller is the Buyer and they are artificially inflating the cost so that the high costs seem justifiable and then can say shit like "Well the last one I put up for that price sold in less than a day".

I have thought about this. Problem with this is that ebay charges fees. Makes no sense to pay fees over and over again for what might amount to a few extra dollars. I am sure this might account for part of it, Not sure about all of it though.

I think some sellers have multiple selling accounts. With one account they put a insanely ridiculous price on a $20 game like $120...than with the other account they sell the same game, at the same time for 50$, so anybody that saw both listings thinks the $50 game is a deal (compared to $120)when in reality its worth about $20.

CPTRAVE

You guys are probably right I have seen the exactly same picture but with different account names, the price was higher on one of the auctions and the other one was 50.00 less.

Nice find! Wow, he's really going against the tide, $3 bucks to start for everything he got a hold of. I'm tempted to grab Blazing Lasers, I kinda would like an original as somewhat of a game collector, but since I plan to buy KRIKzz's upcoming HuFlashCard, I wanna spend the money there. Anyway, cool guy though.
man, that seller deserves every penny, kudos to him for actual auctions.

Yeah I bought a complete copy of Cadash just a few months ago for $30. It was mint too!

Hah, he also put up a US Fighting Street CD starting at $2.99 which nullifies the SF1&2 combo guy that was asking $160 for both it and SF II:CE. I could only find cheap Japanese Fighting Street listings before which might've allowed the seller to hide behind rarity for US versions, but now you've got one for $2.99, thus his gouger status is secure! Anyway, happy bidding - Looks like at least 4 people are going after that Aero Blasters. I didn't see that earlier, good luck! :)

It used to be up for grabs for around $50 not too long ago, but as with most retro gear prices have soared due to the relatively recent spike in its popularity.

It's a good game, not a great game, and is always expensive regardless of platform (it's on the Famicom too). Not sure why, perhaps there weren't many copies produced?

Two were auctioned within a week of each other a few months ago. IIRC, one went for over a hundred and the other for $70-80.

I don't think bidders are reading the fine print in his ads.  I contacted him about the "codes" written inside the manuals.  He told me a majority of them have writing on the back of the manual, but the writing is very neatly done as if almost typed.  I'm sure there are some deals to be had here, but some bidders that skipped over the auction descriptions quickly are going to be disappointed if they have severe OCD.

Too bad we cant coordinate our bids so we dont fight over the same stuff. But I guess thats kind of hard in a public forum that potential scammers would take advantage of.

I hate ebay all the time with games.  It's that evil necessity for impatient gamers wanting score something they usually think is only ever seen on ebay.  With the going trend the past 3 years with turbo it's really just going to get worse.

I threw a $12 bid at Boxyboy with no expectations of winning it.  Then I received an email from eBay showing the winning bid by me for $11.28.  Ugh!  What was I thinking?  Looks like I might default on payment though.  I had spoken to the seller about his $15 shipping to Canada.  He said "I'll combine shipping to get it as cheap as possible. I just put $15.00 on there because I didn't want to calculate the postage. I figured $15.00 would cover one disk anywhere."  Then the invoice arrived with $15 for shipping.  #-o

I sent him a message.

Is the CD in the picture a part of the auction?  If so, you should mention it.  That's a really rare game you have there.  Some sellers are asking over $100 for that one.

That Bonk's 3 listing is eff'd up.  It looks pretty legit though.  The box is in great looking condition.  However, if you look at his listings ALL of his TG-16 games are sealed.  That's a bit messed up.  One game I can understand, maybe he fluked into finding one in someone's attic, but every single game?!  These have to be resealed.

Yeah, I noticed that too.  It's just creating more of a gouge based eBay society.  It helps out oblivious buyers on a really badly gouged item, but if that gouged item sells it just defeats the point of the average.
