Looking to acquire a UK version of Shenmue II for the DC. Would like it to be complete and in good shape.

I am playing through the first Shenmue after letting it sit for a long time. I completed the game in its entirety back when it was first released and would now like to continue the journey on its original home system. Please PM offers. Thanks! :D

Help Mathius out yall but it is bitter sweet that they will never be a part 3

Heck Matt, I had one for sale in here for a few weeks until it sold over the weekend.

I've never fully understood the reason everyone loves the Dreamcast version?
Though truth be told I haven't gotten to playing Shenmue II on either console but isn't the Xbox version considered better in almost every way, it just doesn't have the Japanese audio track?

I don't know, I mean if your going to play the first game with an English dub it would only seem ideal to keep consistency between the two games and play II in English. Though that's probably just me.

Besides, the Xbox version is dirt cheap.

While there are slight graphical differences between the two versions, I want to remember the Xbox version using too much motion blur.
Here's our very own Game Sacks's comparision:
(jump to 14:48 if it doesn't do that automatically).

...this reminds me, yet again, that I should get this game : /
CHECKPOINT!

Looks like it has some type of gaussian blur over everything. Though there where slight graphical improvements with the Xbox version, I want to say improved lighting/water effects but I'm not sure.

Though I guess if your a big Dreamcast fan those small differeances don't matter, since it's not on the DC. Which I can understand.
Though keep in mind the DC version will cost you quite allot, wile the Xbox version can be found some times for less then a Mcdonalds hamburger.

I fell in love with Shenmue on the DC, so I want to keep that ball rollin'. :)

The Xbox version is pretty blurry. The DC version has Japanese voice, you can continue your save from part 1 (requires moderate cleverness) and the DC has VGA output.

The most important thing though: the Xbox version is false.

More than worth it for the Japanese dialogue. Although I miss Ryu asking people where sailors hang out.

What is this "cleverness" you speak of? :)

Lots of unintentional golden moments in the first one. :)

The US and EU save files are incompatible, but just barely. If you can get the US save on your computer you can manually hex edit  small portion of it to make it work with the EU Shenmue II. I only did this once, and it was 10 years ago, so I don't remember the details.

Since then someone actually made a DC homebrew program that does it for you called Shenfix: http://www.bucanero.com.ar/2007/01/25/shenmue-save-converter-beta/

I've never used this, but as far as I know it works.

If you can't get it to work, don't worry too much. Aside from your capsule toy collection I'm not sure what else actually carries over. All the capsule toys in Hong Kong are different from Japan so once you are there you can't get the old stuff anymore (I think).

BTW, the end of Shenmue II fucking amazing.
