@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Got this from Magicbox:

"Nihon Falcom announced that Eiyu Densetsu VI: Sora no Kiseki FC HD [The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky HD] will be coming to PS3 on Dec 13, for 3990 yen. The game is a HD remaster of the PSP version"

So, uh, holy shnikes! Maybe this means a better chance of getting the rest of the series out here, but now on a console!!!

Wow. That's cool. No mention of it yet on Falcom's site, but lots of Japanese sites confirm the announcement.

Sora no Kiseki FC is probably the single best game in the series, and it's cool that more people will be able to play it. I got my fill through the PC version back when it was released in 2004, so I don't think I'm gonna bother getting the PS3 version, but it's cool that it will have widescreen mode this time, like the PSP (and look a helluva lot better than PSP too). I'm sure all the additions made for the PSP will be present, as well as probably a few new ones.

Wouldn't count on an English release, but one can hope. The translation has already been done, after all.

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD didn't make it over, and I assume that game has a larger following than the Trails games. Sadly I agree that its doubtful we'll see it. I'll still buy it though. Love me some Falcom.

AFAIK, Xseed is still trudging thru Trails SC's translation.  Though, maybe this deal along with Steam, will help them pick up the pace.  I'm pretty sure Tom said the wee bit of voice acting there is for the games is done thru the 3rd game.  If they can get these out, then maybe somehow we'll get Zero & Blue for Vita, along with whatever else Falcom has coming, though, I'm not gonna hold my breath.

I think Steam is the main reason, there's a decent amount of people that want the game, but the PSP market in general is dead out here.  With Steam, there's a broader market.  I still hope they do atleast a limited PSP version of SC & TC.  However, if they end up bringing over the HD ones, it's starting to sound like it's actually a physical release, since it comes with a soundtrack, calender, etc.  So, maybe they'd get to release them over here physically, rather then just digitally.

Either way, the main problem with the PSP version of SC was that it's on 2 UMD's that you have to switch back n forth on, & Falcom hasn't gotten around to making it work properly on PSN.  Maybe now they won't need to if they release the HD stuff stateside?

The series is better when you've only played FC. SC kinda ruined it for me. English-speakers are better off without it.

I thought they finally got past that, and got it on PSN in Japan recently?

Really?  I hadn't heard that. :-k  Well, I do feel like Xseed(& Tom) have been quiet lately.  They haven't cancelled it, or they would announce that, & like I said, there's the whole Steam thing.  I suppose there are still a few PSP games trickling out in the US, so maybe we'll get PSP versions.  Also, one thing I've wondered is if the president of Xseed(Jun Iwasaki) is still the president, since he's been announced the president of some other company recently, & if that is going to have any effect on any of there planned games.

I'll settle this.

On Sep. 4, 2012, they announced that it was finally coming as a download on PSN, with the release date to be announced at a later date. Looks we are still waiting for the announcement of the release date at this point, so is it on PSN yet? Yes and no. It's been announced that it finally will be, but it's technically not available yet.
