I have NEVER understood space harrier. It just seemed like a weird afterburner prototype to me.

I recently picked it up for £5 with R-type, stuck it in, played it for the first time in years... still don't get it.

Soop, don't get all barmy on me!!! Space Harrier is SUPERIOR to AfterBurner, IMHO.

Actually, it's funny, we are polar opposites in regard to these two games: The concept and execution of Space Harrier grabs my attention and interest and holds it. Afterburner (and all similarly themed games with standard issue jets, copters, tanks) simply can't compare to giant mushrooms, Mecha, DRAGONS spewing fire!!!, other-worldly architecture, etc. etc.

I mean, jet planes are so mundane compared to the psychedelic experience of Space Harrier.

But, I still like playing AfterBurner...it's a great game. I just wish they threw an occasional giant bouncing mushroom in AfterBurner, that's all

Heh... We have The Exchange stores in Pittsburgh too. They usually price fairly here, but I have noticed that they don't seem to have uniform pricing across different locations. Even in the same store, I've seen the same cart priced at 2.50 and 10.00 with no cosmetic differences.

Yea we have a few of them in the greater Cleveland area and I've seen Harvest Moon (snes) priced at $100 and another 1 priced at $135 so I guess its whatever ebay currently has it listed for they price it for.

After Burner is still boss to this day, because of that awesome moving sit down cab. If that didn't exist, then Space Harrier would be better.

but 2000 bucks for a pc cocoron is pure fantasy. especially since other HC PCE collectors are tring to track this one down without avail for far more monies and since at least a decade.
