@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Hi all,
Hoping to pass along the following to someone who will appreciate. It is an extra for me.

Up for sale is a US TurboExpress with wriststrap. The unit is in excellent condition and works, except the volume is very very low, which is typical of these old systems until the capacitors get replaced. After I bought it, it took a while for the screen to come up (probably because nobody has run electricity through it in 20 years), but now it pretty much works like a charm, except for the low volume. No major cosmetic damage to speak of, battery cover is intact.

I am including a nice starter lot of games too, all complete w/ case and manual (no boxes) and in very nice shape, with Hucard covers:

KEITH COURAGE (with comic!)
PAC LAND
BONK'S REVENGE
SPLATTERHOUSE

The total lot is priced at $100 shipped in the US, available to members in the US. Paypal only with confirmed/verified addresses please.

Price is firm.
If you are interested, please PM :) I do have a pic I can forward upon request for the lot.
Thanks for looking everyone :)
Sincerely
John

Great deal aside, since you are obviously speaking from experience (giggles), how many Turbo Express cap jobs have you done exactly? Have any references you can link to?

I attempted replacing the caps on my Express and it didn't go well.  I ended up shipping it to Blue to finish the job. :)  It's harder than it looks!

EDIT: That is a great deal, even if you pay to have it repaired/upgraded. :)

You need tiny hands.  I have huge mitts.  You should see the size of my keyboard.  If I get this, I'm sending it to Blue.  I've already sent him my TG-16.  I tried to mod that one myself and well... that didn't go well.

Well, the sound fix is really easy by itself, but as you are well aware you should probably replace all of the caps while you are in there, a much more tedious task.

Yeah exactly. And I am sure clown shoes has never done a capjob on a Turbo Express in his life, which makes his statement so silly.

I have like five of these:) Might be willing to part with a couple after I fully mod them with 3.5lcd, external controller port, region mod & video out.

I might be interested in a upgraded model in a bit when you do this :)

This one is sold.  After 8 months, I finally have my very own TE!

I'm having the OP ship it directly to BlueBMW for a recap and work over.  If everything goes well, I should have it in my hands before the end of July.  Perfect timing as I'll be heading out to New Brunswick (12 hour drive) with my kids (76 hour drive) and this will give me something to do when I get there instead of having to listen to my wife's chatting with her 3 sisters and mother.  It's like a damn hen house!

Now I just need the AC Adapter...  :)

CONGRATS!
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)
BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere. You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

Awesome, glad you guys we're able close on a deal.

I use 2600 mah or higher AA rechargeables. You can buy them for like 15 bucks for an 8 pack and will power the TE for a good 4 hours or so.

EvilEvoIX

Congrats!!!  I should be getting a TE soon as well, I miss mine.

I'm very happy this will be enjoyed. It was an extra for me, and it was cool to include some great games to go with it too. Have fun FiftyQuid :)
