After watching the latest Game Sack, I am considering purchasing a Turbo Ever drive ( Gee thanks Joe). Is it worth the $150?

$150 is a ripoff even if you're talking about the fancy SAG version. The regular $79 version, however, is worth every penny and you can buy it direct right here.

It's super heavy duty. A partial plastic plate won't do anything to protect it. It's strictly for looks.

I'm always careful with the electronics and such sitting exposed on top of the board, but no way will a kid accidentally break the board itself.

X3, the board is super thick and not thin like most circuit boards you come across. Please don't spend $150 for one!

Why your daughter would have this in her hands is beyond me. Keep it put away when not in use. Seems like a lot of worry for something that has a simple solution.

Sir, do you not have kids? They find a way to get into EVERYTHING. Especially my gaming stuff. Its in an entertainment table in the family room.

Of all the SAG Deluxe editions, I felt this one was the nicest, with the most work put into.  The case is excellent.  I was very happy to get one in the first batch.  But it's not for everyone.

I agree with others that the TED is really tough and the 3D printed cover (like the one on Game Sack) is only for looks. Tough it feels a little better when handling as well, but that's no biggie.

Daayuum! I've flipped mine back and forth once when I got it just to make sure the switch moved. Then I switched it again to try it with my PC Engine to TurboGrafx adapter. Then I finally switched it back to US where it shall now live forever. That's still extremely awesome that such a switch is there, though.

Site states that they are no longer coating them with black epoxy. Because of thickness issues, but yet they are still shooting a clear on it? Or is that clear coat from the factory already? I have experience with shooting different types of paint (including aircraft and such nasty stuffs. You can still get it here in AZ) - with stuff that's really thin (build up wise). I'm gonna look into that, when I get mine.

Can you hook the everdrive up to a PC via USB and transfer games to the SD card? In other words, use it like a mobile storage device.

You do not need the USB port.  Its there for Homebrewers.  Just get the board.  Micro-SD cards are easily transferred from the slot to the PC.

The TOS rom that loads on start, won't accept anything larger than 2.5megabytes (error 140). The card doesn't respond to anything in the $1ff4-1fff range when mapped (last bank mapped remains as is). So I have no idea why the mention 8megabyte rom support on all the TE sites. Krikzz mentioned that he thought it would load up to a 4megabyte rom, but even if I got past error 140 (probably rom size to big) - there doesn't seem to be a way to even access it. A shame really, 'cause I made a post about this before the card was released - asking for the full SF2 mapper range. Oh well.

 The other thing of interest; Populous works. Well, the original rom works. My custom rom with the same unlock codes - doesn't get access to the extended ram. Either I missed something or the TOS loader is specifically enabling that support based on some sort of rom ID process.

Chilly Willy said he was working on a unified OS for all Everdrives and I assume that includes the TED. As a homebrewer himself he may make any space that's actually there accessible. I guess we'll see.

I wonder who wrote/made the TOS rom for the TE. I did ask Krikzz if the fpga could be updated to support new hardware (specifically asked for full sf2 mapper range), but he said that can't be done through SD card.
 
 I do know that the 64k of base CD ram is there (as it should be), so I'm gonna continue with the SF2 graphic upgrades. The nice thing about the card, is that it allows for hucard+cdram or hucard+cd projects. I've heard reports that people with Duo and SuperCDROM units, can actually use the system card 3.0 and still run SuperCD games. I'll believe that when I see it (it's not supposed to work like that. CD 2.0 yeah, but not CD 3.0). But if that is true, that'll be a pretty nice feature for CD translators. Most of the system card rom is just 12x12 and 16x16 SJIS fonts, which isn't needed for English translation games. You could put custom fonts in that space as well as custom code. Not even just translations, but homebrew CD games. I haven't tested that out, because I need to take apart my CD drive and reassemble it (last time I took it apart, I didn't put it back together right and the CD spindle is sitting too low for the CD to spin).

 Edit: Seems there's something weird with this card and Duo/SuperCDROM units. I'm hoping it's a clever feature on the card and not just a matter of a bus conflict losing to hucard open bus area (unmapped/non-mirrored rom). Supposedly, Populous only works with the TE card on Duo/SuperCDROM units. Not the older CD addon units.
