Back when I started back into Turbo I paid $300 for my TG+CD, w/cables and case.  It included Soldier Blade (loose), Order Of The Griffon, Shockman, and 2 other games (I think).  The CD unit was non-functional, but it was just a gear.

That was a couple years ago, but if I use it as a base price and then factor in a few other things I've purchased since then (these are prices I actually paid as a member here at PCE to other members);

TG+CD + games =$300CAD (local pick-up)
TE + 3 games (I think) = $100USD
SSC3.0 = $100USD + trade

So I paid about $500USD (exchange was fairly even back then) for everything and about 10 games.  10 good games mind you.  There wasn't a Deep Blue in the lot.

I would say $600USD would be a decent price.  GOT is only a $50 game if you're patient.  The rest can be had for < $20 is you are not in a hurry with the exception of Ys I&II, and Ys III.  I picked up the Ys games from GameTZ for $80.

$900+ is overpaying.

BTW, most of my trades are public around here so you can just check my post history.  I just didn't bother.

If you look at ebay prices, that is probably about $900 worth of stuff... I don't understand why lots are going for basically what you'd pay for each item individually. Isn't the whole purpose of buying "lots" to get items cheaper than if you bought each individually?

That said, seeing as the winner is a 1-feedback account, I wouldn't be surprised if it never gets paid for. There is a glut of auction winners that never pay up. Also seeing as the other two top bidders were really high feedback, I wouldn't be surprised if they were just going to flip it all for a measly $100-200 profit, by listing things at the high end. Seems like a waste of time and energy.

Likely to this guy, who is now just trying to earn an honest profit from his investment. Which is costing him hundreds of dollars in credit card interest as he continues to fail at flipping it. Which is why it is logical to ask for thousands more.

I'm fairly certain its the guy over at NA that bragged that he bought that one huge lot that had it and a bunch of other high value games. This ebay was around 70-85% of a full set of hueys. (I think he got it for like, $6-9k, its been a while... you guys probably remember that lot) Anyway, he sold off the rest of it to pay for most of MC. He was really excited that he had a TG16 fullset. His avatar was a picture of the Magical Chase box. I'm pretty sure it was sometime between October and December of 2012. Anyway, fast forward a year, and I guess he decided having a $5000 paperweight sitting on the shelf wasn't providing him any more joy, so now its for sale on eBay and NA.

I don't know exactly when, but games in japan used to NOT be shrink wrapped and used stores would wrap used games! Probably to guarantee everything doesn't fall out! But now in the disc copy ale era they are sealed now.

There are things that I could have used in the lot.  There's been Turbo games in the past that I bid on that I ended up winning for .99 + free shipping.  Granted it's a longshot that it would sell that low but it does happen once in a blue moon.
