What happened to seller hit-japan? their prices used to be by far the cheapest on eBay.
A couple of years back I used to buy tons of import games from them but now their prices are just silly.  :-k

Fucktard collectors made them realize they can get more wangbang for their fuckbuck.
This "max-level forum psycho" () destroyed TWO PC Engine groups in rage: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook "Because Chris 'Shadowland' Runyon!," then the other by Aaron Nanto "Because Le NightWolve!" He's ok, he gets his panties in a wad VERY easily, so you have to be careful how you interact with him. He will ban you in a minute.

The trick is to make him offers, he'll usually work out a pretty good deal with you. He recently sold me Valis 3 and 4 for $35, which I thought was a great deal.

Peter Rabbit Hamu is another good seller.

GohanX

Yeah, you can always take a few bucks off with an offer if it's a common item. I just ordered a great condition Ys 4 from him for 12 bucks, which isn't a steal but isn't half bad.

Trenton_net

In my humble opinion, most items from ebay are a rip now days. Not like the old days where you could get a good deal. Instead now speculators, eBay fees, PayPal fees ruin it for everyone.

ToyMachine78

Well Valis 3 was 19.99, and Valois 4 was 29.99. He dropped 3 to $15 and 4 to $20. I find he makes much better deals if you buy multiple items.

Mzo

I usually go for the yamatoku auctions; they always start at a penny.

I actually just got PC Engine Princess Maker <3 and PS Unjammer Lammy at a penny each, plus shipping.  You guys should also check out Arcade-Gear.com.  Mike doesn't have prices listed anymore, or even regular updates (lol) but he is a great guy who only deals in near mint/mint, complete, spine card games at very reasonable prices.

Ordered from both.  Yes, make reasonable offers.  Items I've received from both sellers were top-notch as advertised and wouldn't hesitate to order from again in the future.

Yeah, I would always try and buy a few games at a time from Hit-Japan. They're always willing to do deals and I've never once paid a customs charge on anything they sent me :D

one must also say that games got in generally less and therefore more expensive here in the japan fields as well. i might assume that this will have a price impact on most of the the export shops.

The trick is to order multiple items with offers. Usually he will bite and cut the deal you want. If you say go after 1 item and send an offer that is over  20-25% off he'll flat out deny it. Also this time of the year he jacks up the prices on almost all BIN with offers.

I used to use hit-japan for awhile, then I sent him one offer (maybe 30% off but it was super overpriced) and he responded "Is this a joke?" and I was like fuck that dude I will take my business elsewhere.  DragonmasterDan has an even more epic story than I about him I believe.

Anyway, after that I used Yamatoku for awhile, but at this point I'm more likely to just buy stuff from Japan using a proxy anymore.

Hit Japan/Game of Japan guy came into the old flashchat a couple times to say hi to the pce folks and thanks for the business. I haven't bought anything from them in a while though.... Yeah everything is too damn expensive on ebay. They pretty much show you the average prices when you list stuff and suggest price points so. There's really no deals to be had anymore on there unless you want some obscure/unwanted shit.

I agree! I bought my junk drive from him to fix my turbo CD. I offended him by negotiating over price and asking him specific questions about the drive. He banned my username, but since he was the only one selling junk drives I had to create another eBay id just to buy from him.

Once I had an established record with other JP sellers,  I asked him to unban me and he did. I told him to look at my history and that business could be his lol

Still great service with hit-japan but prices have been going up.Not to mention,it's worse if you want to buy sfc games cib  While loose of course is the cheaper option.

lol, I tried to say that the amount of retro game stuff became somehow less during the past few years here in japan. so that might have an impact on export prices as well.

Noticed that as well with hit-japan; he's been refusing pretty reasonable offers from me (maybe asking for 15% off in some cases at most). Yamatoku has always been my favorite seller on eBay simply because he starts auctions low and let's the market dictate. You can still get good deals there as long as you're bidding on games that the snerds stay away from.

In the early days bivari (hit-japan) was an asshole and more. At least the couple times I bought stuff from him he had a crap attitude and even worse (s-l-o-w) service.
He seems to have upped his game from those days. Although, as some here have mentioned, you gotta be careful how you interact with this dude. He's liable to block you on a whim.

I still think hit-japan prices over last year or so have gone really high.
Even if the game has a best offer option the initial buy it now price is 3-4 times the going rate.
Maybe it's only with Snerd games I haven't really checked the prices on other formats other than AES.

I've seen Japanese FF games and Chrono Trigger copies going for $30-40 each on occasion between Hit Japan and some others...I bought FF4-6 and CT for the Super Fami less than a year ago for like 15 bucks total. It's insane what's happened in such a short time.

This has been ongoing for quite some time now and only getting worse.  (I did eventually pick up Coryoon for $140 shipped via private transaction Btw).

I got some fair prices off of him just recently, like a tennokoe for under $5, when I bought a bunch of stuff at once. What pisses me off is that I paid for EMS and he sent it Special Service Mail, whatever the hell that is. Not cool at all.

IIRC, that law was actually considered back in 2006 but wound up being dropped.

I've never had a problem with hit-japan in terms of the condition of the items or shipping - it's always been very accurate, well packed and prompt. You're right, they're not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either.

Just bought Cyber Knight ($5), Magicoal ($15), Fang of Alnam ($10), Xanadu I ($8) and Sol Moonarge ($10) from him - I paid about 50% - 75% of the asking price on all of them and he accepted. I don't think that's a bad deal by any stretch of the imagination.

I've bought several games and accessories for PS1 and PCE from Hit Japan. Packaging was good, and the condition of the items was very good. Not far from the excellent packaging and item condition of Arcade-gear.com, however AG benefits from outstanding customer support and friendly staff.

On the other hand I had rather negative experiences with sellers within Europe.

Man, thanks for the heads up.  I still would have weighed it to get an idea, EMS rates are high but $50 for a couple of games is nuts.  For $50 I would expect it at my door in 2 days.
