I have a Sega CD model 1 w/ mounting plate and screw, plus an official AC adapter for sale. Console is in good (read: "Gamers'") condition. There is a small crack on the faceplate above the tray's "CD" swirl. It's not very noticeable while you're playing.

Console works great. Asking $50 for everything. Shipping not included.

Edit: Console does not include box
No resellers please.

If you're just looking for a sega cd to play your games on, model 1 works fine with a model 2 genesis.  You'll have to remove the rubber feet on the bottom but after that it fits and interfaces perfectly.  Looks a little bit wonky, but who cares?
Current want list:  Bomberman 93

Yeah I've had bad luck with the model 2's, I haven't seen one without a dead fuse in a long time. I have 2 broken model 2's right now in fact but my model 1 keeps playing strong. The 1 though is a little more delicate mechanically though, that front loading tray is very fragile and comes off track easily.

I have had two model 1s and never had any issues either. My current one looked unused when I nabbed it off ebay last year. She should see many good years ahead still.

Model 1's biggest issue is the same as the LA.  As previously stated, the front loading tray comes off the track quite often.  The internals of the system seem to work fine and hold up well.

I think the model 2 Sega CD is more reliable in the sense that you don't need to worry about the whole gear lifting laser mech/ejecting tray combo.  Just drop the disc in an go. If something's wrong, it's normally the laser or the fuse because someone stuck a NES power supply in there.

This is all anecdotal, but I've seen a friend go through 5 broken Model 1 Sega CDs while my Model 2 keeps on truckin'.  The more moving parts we come across, the more problems we see.
