The only reasons to need a System 1.0 card to either play Altered Beast CD and/or to be able to view the incorrect system card warnings, so maybe you should promise to play through and beat Altered Beast before raffling it off?

For the most part they do, but Altered Beast is a rarity that will glitch out on anything but a 1.0 card.

You know it is. I actually ripped .mp3's of the karaoke and listen to them pretty frequently—they are part if my "at work" music because it isn't distracting.

Game arrived today so I gave it a spin for a bit.  I used to be able to dominate this game and after shaking off some rust I felt right at home.  A few points:

1.)  Game is not as bad as everyone says.  The SMS version is such a piece of shit, everything else plays amazingly in comparison.

2.)  The mid-level load is a bit obnoxious.  The worst is when you are on the side of the screen and there is a load...  then before you know the load is done some dickhead jumps out at you from off-screen and gets a cheap hit.

3.)  Sounds really good.  I even think the voice clips were cleaned up in this version, but I may just be remembering incorrectly.

4.)  The "Story" option from the main menu is entertaining...  I didn't know what was being said, but I watched the whole long ass thing.

5.)  I'm a bear.
