Just ordered the Borderlands 2 bundle Vita. Always wanted to play the Assassin's Creed game on the Vita but haven't researched the rest of the library. Any suggestions for other games? I'm into platformers, shooters and some RPGs...because that really narrows it down.

If you like puzzle games look at Lumines Electronic Symphony.  Ys Celceta is quite nice if you like action/rpg's.  Muramasa is an awesome game and even better than the Wii version.  The Rayman games are also quite nice if you like platform games.  I just recently purchased the new Tempest for Vita.  Awesome!  If you have a PS3 there are some psone classics you can dl that are not available on the Vita psn shop.  Games like Zanac X Zanac, Shinryu, and Gaia Seed.  You can just dl them on the ps3 then tranfer them to the Vita.  If you don't have a psp might I also suggest the rest of the Ys games.  Soul Sacrifice is also pretty good if you like 3rd person hack/slash games.

EDIT:  Forgot to add Sine Mora.  It's a decent shooter that was ported to the Vita (also on ps3 and 360).  It's only available for DL though on psn.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Will playing any of the Ys games spoil story from the first few games? Have Book I and II but the CD drive on my DUO isn't working.

If you like platforming games, give Uncharted a try.  When the Vita came out they said there would be AAA titles released with regularity...  but that seemed to begin and end with uncharted lol

I am a big fan of the MLB games, which is basically the only reason I touch my Vita anymore.  Dragon's Crown was free this month on PS+ and it looked good, so I will be playing that next time I am on a plane.

Not really each Ys game has it's own chapter.

If you like the Japanese-style stuff, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Persona 4: Golden are perfect. Danganronpa is almost a visual novel. It's a mystery-solving kind of thing. Persona 4 is one of my favorite RPGs of all time.

Not to mention you can download all the other Ys game(except for 5 & 6/Ark of Napishtim) to the Vita.  They're for PSP & called Ys 1 & 2 Chronicles, Ys: Oath in Felghana, & Ys Seven.

Nice. I'll check them out. When the Vita arrives, I'll have Borderlands 2 and Assassin's Creed Liberation to keep me busy for a while.

Also, never realized how hard it is to find a Vita in a store. Ordered mine online as I couldn't find one in any store in town. Checked at least ten places looking for one.

I'd also check out the digital game Steam World Dig.  It's like Dig Dug mixed with Metroid.  Also, there are other Falcom PSP games you can download to the Vita, they are Gurumin, Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, & coming sometime this winter there will be Brandish & Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 2.  There are other Legend of Heroes games on the PSP, but, like Ys 6 I don't believe they are available on PSN.  Plus, they're badly translated, so, I can't totally recommend them.  I thought they were fun, but....still. :/

Also, for Vita I picked up Batman Arkham Origins.  I've heard it's decent, & is set up like Metroid. Gravity Rush is supposed to be really good, but I haven't played it yet.  Also, people rave about Tearaway, but I haven't picked it up.

Ys is all you need.... or it's all I need (so far) and I don't have a Vita yet.

They've (most?) already been said but I'll reinforce the opinions :)

Persona 4 Golden
Ys
Disgaea 3 & 4
Virtue's Last Reward (if you don't have the 3DS version already)
Muramasa

Wanted to pick up the handheld version of Arkham Origins when it first came out. Looked way better on Vita than 3DS so I was out of luck...until now. I enjoyed the PS3 version. Also read about Gravity Rush and Tearaway.

Think I'm gonna have a huge backlog of games for this system when it finally arrives. The holiday on Monday delayed shipping of my Vita. Not gonna be here until Monday. :( Stupid UPS Ground.

Also, Rise of Mana is coming to Vita.  I don't know a whole lot about it.  If it's atleast as good as Sword of Mana, then I'll be midly happy, but I'd rather it be as good as Seiken Densetsu 2 or 3!

Not that would be good! As far as I've read it is/was originally an iOS/Android game, so my hopes are held that high, unfortunately.

That looks pretty cool. Never played the original Secret of Mana :ducks head: but this one looks interesting. Vita might become my favorite hand held.
