We're going to cease taking orders for this beast on 12/24.

Why?

Well it's something like:

1) It lets us wrap up all of the orders and have an idea of what kind of supplies we need.  This is important because:

2) It gives us more time to continue focusing on the next board + plastic idea.  We don't want to have a ton of extra crap from this design laying around doing nothing.

3) It gives us even more time to WRITE SOME FRIGGIN' GAMES.   Really, this is the most important part.

If there's some sort of crazed demand for more, maybe in the future we can make more, but I would not count on it until the new and improved board + plastic is done.

So, place an order if you haven't.

You don't pay til yours is ready to ship, so, you've got plenty of time on the money front.    I invoice you once yours is ready.   It's a bit of a slow going process since I'm doing all of that during my free time between working on games, and working at a real place.

There is a decent sized waiting list (still somewhere around 100 orders left to go).

this is where everyone panics.

Definitely not til after the new year.  If any of you want the ROM early, you can spew 10 money to me.  I'll take it off the cost of the card when your copy is ready.

I love playing the rom. But i can't wait to get an actual copy of the game so i can sift through the manual and bask in it's beauty. I'm anxiously, patiently waiting my turn in line :D I understand the process is probably very demanding.

You don't pay until your turn in line comes up.

This wouldn't be until like mid-end of January or later for you

CHECK YOUR E-MAILS/PAYPAL ACCOUNTS FOR INVOICES.

THERE'S LIKE 30 PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T PAID.

Really holding things up here, guys.

If you know people who doesn't post here but might have ordered, tell them to look too.

Some people liked my post on FB about checking for invoices, and then failed to pay their invoice.  This is the ultimate in durp.

This isn't an opportunity to jump in on the failures, because the rest of the waiting list has precedence over people who didn't order yet, lol.

As soon as the list is processed, we can do the "I got one because someone else is dumb" thing.  :)

Soooo 30 people (seriously 30, fucking 30?, really?).. didn't pay? It seems most likely the person responsible for customer order tracking screwed up making sure everyone was properly notified and confirmed their orders... considering 3 of the people that just responded today said they didn't get any invoice or email yet, and i doubt esteban, bernie or albtross (i don't know you but lets go with it!) would just sit here and make that up.

But regardless of whose fault it is and why this is batch had such a huge payment fail, wouldn't it make alot more sense for people to prepay for their pre-orders if they are serious about buying something? Then there's no bullshit involved, the company just ships out the product when it is ready to go.

I looked in PayPal, I did not see an invoice. Nor did I get an email. :(

But, I know everything will work out.

Arkhan was very generous for not billing until later...I had a tough time around the holidays, budget-wise, so I am very grateful.

I also picked up Pyramid Plunder, which I have needed for a long time (how long has it been out now?)

:)

Totally checked my e-mail again... even though I check it at least once a day. Also checked my paypal. No invoice yet so I'm definitely not one of these 30 booty butts of which you speak?

I do everything.  Me.  By myself.  All of the order tracking.

I didn't screw anything up.  PayPal sends an e-mail to the related e-mail address upon me sending you an invoice.   It's super easy to check your e-mail, or your PayPal, and see if there is an invoice.

Esteban, Bernie, and Albatross haven't been invoiced yet.    So, of course they haven't seen an e-mail.

I've sent numerous reminder e-mails to people (PayPal even has a button for this), numerous news posts (some of which were liked on Facebook by people who haven't paid...)... so...

No, this makes absolutely zero sense, because then I am sitting on people's money while the items are being manufactured, and I do not want to be caught in a situation where something comes up and I have handfuls of pissed off people wondering where their game is because we're waiting on jewel cases, or for spools of plastic to be back in stock.

See:  Every homebrew release ever that took money before a product existed.

Aetherbyte has gotten to the position it's currently at by us *not* doing terrible ideas like this.

It's clear you're a bit out-of-the-loop on how this works, so I'd appreciate if you properly informed yourself about how this operates before coming in and winging it acting like I've screwed something up.  ("I don't know you! but let's go with it!")

Mainly because you seem to think this is some big operation when really it's two dudes in a basement, and a guy in the UK doing pixelart.

And thank you so much for this.  Preordering the Pier Solar reprint from Watermelon over a year ago has been a terrible experience.  One that has left such a sour taste in my mouth that I will never again spend my money on anything with their name attached to it.

That's alot of work for one person.

Quote...Esteban, Bernie, and Albatross haven't been invoiced yet.    So, of course they haven't seen an e-mail...
Well since you did't post a list, everyone is just guessing if they needed to pay or not.

These are called dead beats with no money and obviously are wasting everyone's time.

QuoteNo, this makes absolutely zero sense, because then I am sitting on people's money while the items are being manufactured...
Yeah, that's kinda how preordering works. People pay you, you pay your vendors, get your goods and ship, then pocket the profit. Kinda been working that way for centuries. Everyone knows there's delays its common place and shouldn't even be an issue. I mean look at crowdfunding, it has basically guaranteed everyone knows if you prepay for something now days your getting that shit laaate!

QuoteIt's clear you're a bit out-of-the-loop on how this works, so I'd appreciate if you properly informed yourself about how this operates before coming in and winging it acting like I've screwed something up.  ("I don't know you! but let's go with it!")
You are correct i had no idea you did this by yourself in a basement alone etc. And you are correct i am "a bit out-of-the-loop" about how you are doing your orders. Although i'd hate to be holding product and stuck waiting for money. Anyway, i never stated you screwed anything up but said it "seemed most likely", i mean 30 people didn't pay when it was due...not like it was 1 or 2 people. Not winging it or even really saying you screwed up. Just sayin.

The ("I don't know you! but let's go with it!")was about albatross, since i don't know him but was giving him the benefit of the doubt on his not getting an invoice. Geez, i mean its right after his name in the same sentence before the comma...
