I'm doing the once unthinkable and considering selling off all my Turbo cases (the plastic ones, not the cardboard; I already do not have any cardboard) or raffling the ones I won in raffles (if needed).

I ended up with a few homeless hueys now, and I'm starting to consider chucking cases in order to save space. So, my question is twofold:

Is it worth the money to shell out the cash to rehome the hueys? Even while I'm running out of space?

What should I do with them once the cases are gone? What are the best storage options?

I was thinking of something like card sleeves, which is where I keep my Game Boy games, but I also really like the fact that my Lynx and Game Gear games are in portable carrying cases.

Thoughts?

I think it's fun to have the cases to HuCARDs.

Maybe something like this business cardholder could work if you end up getting rid of your cases.

That case reminds me of the time when I had two boxes of IBM floppies... As well as another two boxes of Amiga floppies. The Amiga ones could be easily distinguished, since all of them had handwritten labels but the workbench disk.

I keep all my loosies in small, clear pcmcia cases. Someday I'll make little printed labels for the sides and maybe little cover graphics...someday.

Haven't heard that in a while. I remember using the network pcmcia cards back in the day. Man that was an old laptop only had a built in modem port lol.

I would say keep the cases personally, just stick them in an attic or something as you may want them later.

I just keep my loosies in a stack, but I've heard talk about using baseball card or business card sleeves.

You mean the roof of my apartment building?

I live in a small New York studio, so space is tight. My wife wouldn't be happy to have them "stored" somewhere, although if I do store them, say, under the bed, I still have the problem of what to do with the loose cards.
Lol, I understand.  I live in a house and still have storage issues.

I suggest you put a shelf all around your living room / kitchen / bedroom, about five inches down from the ceiling (just enough to clear a jewel case).  Think of it as the world's awesomest crown molding.

Have you considered a 3 ring binder with collectible card slits? I have been considering this but I only have one loose huey, the other 6 games I have a CIC, but I doubt the new games I pick up will all have cases as a cost choice.

Thanks for the heads up! Ignore my rookie posting :D However, the consensus on the thread appears to be that there are some that can work, depending on the plastic and how it reacts to other plastic. Better safe than sorry and avoid them, but many people said they have no problem because they use a kind that is safe for other plastics under various moisture and temp conditions

It's not a rookie mistake. UltraPro collectible card holders are perfect and I've had my HuCards in them for almost 20 years now with zero issues. Just don't stick them in soft credit or business card sleeves. I think that some of the HuCard binders from bitd might be risky as well.

I use 4-card sheets, which are already pushing the limit for ease of leafing through.
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

Well thank you for the reassurance. I have a lot of these as I have still yet to purge my bins of collectible cards from my youth (maybe there are some loose hueys in there!! cant toss the bins without sifting!) so I was considering using them, I am fairly certain that they are UltiPro brand, as I was pretty into NHL cards in the 90, and had some binders of things I hoped would be valuable. Maybe I will put a keith courage in one and leave it in a warm part of the house for a while, see what happens. Test card :P

spenoza

I recommend those plastic and cardboard card boxes people use for collectible card games. The cardboard boxes are a bit excessive for all but the larger collections, but the little plastic boxes will let you stack your HuCards inside. They'll be resting on top of each other, but that doesn't really do them any harm AFAIK.

Something like this at Amazon.

If a few of us chip in $100, we can get 10,000 units and sell them for $$$$$$$$$$$$. We will share the $$$$$$$$$$$.

All we need is someone who has an empty barn (to store 10,000 units).

It works best, I think, when the cover/insert art can be repurposed for a "widescreen" ratio instead of a 1:1 square....that's the tricky part.

So. Does anyone have a Coryoon instruction manual they can scan so I can make one of these HuCase mini cases for it? Actually, I think I will start a project thread (or page) for this and chronicle covers for use with PCMCIAT2 cases.

If you need a hand creating art, let me know I'd be happy to help with some grunt work modifying existing art to fit these size cases. Hopefully most can be done via a batch, but I'd be willing to bet many will require hand tooling.

Yes, most of these will require manually fitting them all to the template. I still don't know yet about what I'm gonna do with the HuCards that have nothing but the UPCs for the back case. But I'd love help with it if you're offering as I feel that this might be an overwhelming project to do alone :)

In any case, here's the placeholder page I have up for now. Eventually I will put up files people can download the individual files from.
