@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Hey guys, I bought a system that had a controller with the male DIN attachment severed from the holster on the controller cable. Picture is below. Is there any way to find a replacement DIN attachment or some kind of solution so I can still salvage the controller for my TurboTap?

Alternatively, is there a way to open up the plastic end to the controller that houses the metal DIN port?  It seems there is a little hole on the top and bottom of the plastic sheath, but I'm not sure if there's a way to open it up that way.  It looks like the sheath is made of two parts, a top and bottom, so maybe if I could get into that I could replace the broken DIN port with a leftover one I have from my extra TurboTap?

If the pins are still on the metal part that came out you can just super glue it back in again. Just put the glue around the rubber area that goes around the sides of the metal part.

Hard to tell from your pic if all the pins are still on the backside.

In the second pic if you scroll over you can see there's sadly only one pin remaining.  You wouldn't know how to open up that rubber area, would you?  Seems like there's a tiny hole on the top and bottom that would suggest there's some way to pop it open...

I can only tell you how I would fix this.  If anyine has a simpler fix they can chime in.  Basically, the plug is trashed.  Its a sealed peice.  The only way to open it is to cut it with a razer, but then it wont go back together cleanly.  The correct way tofix it is buy a new DIN cable, cut off one end, and solder it to the points on the tap pcb.  Its a pretty easy project but will reqire soldering and a multimeter.

If those pins are broke then this is the only way to do it that I know of repairing it.

Another option is just getting yourself a pc engine cable in order to use the controller on a pc engine or DUO instead. No soldering needed as long as your cable has the same white connector on it. http://gamedoctorhk.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=72_21_123&products_id=1971
