This douche is splitting the case and manual in two separate listings.
Yeah, I absolutely hate jerks who do that.

It's worth $700 because it's so rare.

So rare that the flipper has stacks of them to list.

The worst part is that this will encourage other resellers to gouge all Drac X related products that much further.

I bet that there's a Castlevania forum where a bunch of idiots are bragging about snagging the ultra rare low-print little-known LE Drac X which was only recently discovered by hardcore fans in Japan and authenticated by Konami of Japan.

At Nintendo Age, someone suggested buying the bootleg, then complaining to ebay that it is counterfeit. They will refund your money and not require you to return the item. Try to hurt the bootleggers more than just getting the listing removed.

Unfortunately, too many people on nintendoage will jump at that advice just to flip them within forums for l33t profit.

I dunno, I would hope, but that's pretty f'ed up, I was pretty sure given the activity in this thread and the multiple reports it caused, eBay would've taken action. I could swear I saw us to do this before and see eBay take one down in rather short order... :/

Look at the sold items from that seller - it is a gaijin collectard's dream.   I have no doubt he has multiples...

Oh brother.

We all still have our legit copies right? Better keep 'em lest we will never be able to afford another.

I think it is a great strategy.  The only way to hurt bootleggers is to hurt their wallet.  Ebay wont remove user reported auctions because it is not a vero.  Now, if you can get the actual IP holder to step in, you could end the problem within a few weeks.  Vero partners can remove auctions instantly.  Microsoft is pretty active with theirs, and so is rolex.

Oh, and the rondo x was bid up by yours truly.  And whos gonna pay for it? NOT THIS GUY!

Hm, I dunno, you created eBay history with that move... :/ If the listing gets essentially discredited by eBay changing it after you file a fraud report, that will partly undo that at least, but if they don't, it's sketchy as to what's gonna happen in the future... How will the public know it got entered into a fraud situation ? I dunno, either way. :/

It serves them right for selling bootlegs on ebay. Fucking leeches deserve no money for it.

First repro I ever spotted on eBay was Terranigma a few years ago and I was dumbfounded that nobody did anything about it. But every listing sold is cash in eBay's pocket so I don't see them trying too hard to do the right thing here.

Start a WTB thread here first before hitting the online shops. Always a good rule to abide by.

This puzzles me too, but it all comes down to the rights holders' veracity.  It is up to Konami to act on this.

Years ago I was selling DVDs on eBay and one auction kept getting shut down by eBay. It was a retail DVD, completely legal, but it was a documentary about the band Tool, which apparently they didn't like...  You could walk into a music store and buy this DVD, you could buy it on Amazon and tons of other legit retail sources.. but eBay kept taking down the auctions, and finally I stopped trying to sell it, because  they threatened to suspend my account over it...  In my case, the band had no right to ask for removal, yet it was granted over and over.

To be fair, you're going to wan the best shipping possible for something this rare.

This auction reminds me of the Metal Slug AES complete set.

Just saying. You know the seller isn't serious enough to actually sell Magicoal Chaise.

You seem to have a stick up your butt over a lot of this collecting stuff. Personally, I think these auctions are hilarious.

Hey guys this thing as rare as a sacred and possibly unreal religon relic! you can tell by the ***ALL CAPS***!  In case you can't understand, let me rephrase that, this is fact highly sought after!

BTW this is complete!  that means complete in box!  it isn't true if I don't saty it twice!   Exclamation points makes my title that more impressive!

---people are f-ing stupid this breaks like every rule of selling/marketing.   You might as well change this title to.

Are you dumb?   Will you overpay for something just to say you own it?  [-o< Then Buy this!
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)
BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere. You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

shawnji

I'll give him $45 for the game itself.  Think he'll take it?  I mean... he can probably get $99,954 for the case and box alone, right?

This is so stupid...  who in their right mind would ever?

Ive certainly kept my seller waiting for his bootleg money.  Hopefully i can drag it out and cost him the ebay fees for final value.  100k auction?  Certainly youd think thered be some verification to buy and sell products that expensive. Sending $100k to an anonymous seller through paypal?  I mean wtf?

Ah, I see, so you're willing to take a hit on your eBay account - you bought it and will just sit it out until he does something. Did you have an extra eBay account set up for this with some history or is it your regular account ?

Gentlegamer

If he tries to ding your feedback, tell ebay its counterfeit.

edit: sellers can't leave negatives, so what can he possibly do?

In fact, you could leave neg feed back right now for selling a bootleg

Reported, and you guys should all report, too. Contact details and asking for cash in a listing is against ebay rules, and you betcha that they'll want to take that down much more quickly than e.g. bootlegs. Doing it that way screws ebay out of money, and they don't like losing money, especially when it's up for a cool $5M.
