Honestly, that's about what I'd expect a full collection to cost. It's pretty reasonable if you want (and can afford) to grab the whole thing at once.

I just have trouble with the whole "instant-fan-collection-if-you're-rich-enough" way of doing things these days.

Seconded. While the collectards were ooh-ing and aah-ing over that guy who bought ever US PS2 games, I shrugged my shoulders and thought that he basically burned cash.

Yeah, concerning price I came to the conclusion it wasn't too far off. The top like 10 expensive games for the system are almost half the overall price I think.

It's nice to have a fullset, but buying the whole thing outright seems a killjoy. Like the full Dreamcast bundle that recently ended for about $3700. Sure you have it all, but are you actually going to play it or just put it in shelves and forget about it?

After getting a boxed system and 17 games (including Zenki, Zeroigar, and Chip Chan Kick) for $500, it seems high for a lot.

cool set. but yeah kinda of a 1 shot done deal, where is the fun in that. Also it loses a bunch for me knowing a vast majority I could never appreciate with the language barrier.

I don't think anyone will bid. It has been relisted at this price over and over at least since September when I originally posted.

Complete sets of collectibles can actually justify a premium, just as lots deserve a discount. But the driving factor is the market/demand for the subject and the PC-FX has never been popular and not only can so many games be found for next to nothing, the price range for the premium games is so wide that if price is a factor to a buyer, then they're better off just spending the day with a shopping list buying everything.

But let's face it, $2000+ is what collectards pay for hundreds of individual games today.

Wow, This would have been the only console complete collection I have. Although I never go for such a silly completionist collection. Someday I might pick up a PC-FX. I sadly don't speak or read Japanese. it is still cool.

Looks like the seller ran this as an auction near the beginning of December and it ended at 156,000 yen, which is about $1300 according to my calculations today.

So, now we know the true value of an entire PC-FX collection!
