Brand new Mega Man X, X2, X3 MSU1 uploads!

I don't know if anyone here is into the MSU1, but I love it. Just got myself a SD2SNES and I'm going nuts with adding custom soundtracks. For example, I just found great soundtracks for MMX2 and X3 by this guy on youtube who remade the music to sound like they would on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis.

Also, here is the channel with the other rock/metal soundtracks that I used for X2 and X3. For those who didn't see my older thread--he also did the original NES Mega Man soundtrack and I put it into NES2PCE Mega Man CD.

Google "TIZ uploads vacantplanets" to find my uploads and play them. I uploaded a version of the original Mega Man X MSU1 too.

I think this stuff is really cool and want to share it!

Oh, I forgot. Do you guys know that you can play these on Higan, an emulator?

Yeah, Higan/BSNES, and I imagine most will be trying these that way as SD2SNES is pricey unless you score one during krik's Black Friday sales around November (as I did) or organize a group buy of 10+ buyers. Still, I found it hard to justify, that amount of money buys so much more these days like a 10.1" Windows tablet etc. But I said f--k it and got one. It is a great product and seeing my SNES load up Wild Guns for a whirl was fun.

I know there's mixed feelings on the MSU1, personally i think its pretty amazing to see old games get new life breathed into them. The MMX and Chrono Trigger interest me the most. Would be cool to one day see an actual MSU1 chip produced to go into newly developed snes game cartridges.

I love how they put the Playstation cutscenes into Chrono Trigger. It was surreal to plug in a SNES and see that.

Well, I was playing it, I beat it back in November. I was trying to catalog the experience here, collect videos, all the pop culture references/jokes, a quick little shrine of a post, but as usual, I got busy and distracted with other things, so I didn't finish... :/ What sucked was the game's script is encoded, I tried to find all the text of everything I wanted, so I need a SegaCD hacker or to research more myself on how to do it... It's an already English game localized by Working Designs, so no hacker would really want to spend time hacking a game to dump an English script...

Lol, Sven T. Uncommon was one of my favorite parts of the game.  Also, the actress they used for Mail has such a perfectly sassy voice too, it really makes the game.

I know right, she's perfect. And a very clear voice at that, it works so well for the game!

Now, I understood Sven was a mock of steroid-loving bodybuilders like Ahnold, but why the choice of "Sven ?" Was there any significance to it ? I would've expected maybe Hans or Franz given SNL's pop culture influence and what not.

Sure enough, the answer came recently when "The Running Man" was playing on some local channel towards the end when Ahnold is about to send Killian into the roller coaster injection tube so that he'll "hit the spot" but before that happens, Killian's well-built security guard walks over to him thinking he's gonna bail him out... Killian calls him "Sven," saying, "Do you wanna talk to Mr. Richards? ... Well??" Of course, Sven had now come to respect the hero and instead throws back Killian's previous insult to him, replying, "I've got to score some steroids" then walks away leaving Killian to whatever fate Ahnold decides for him. Heh.

Friggin' Victor Ireland knows his 80's/90's movies... Even the opening anime sequence of Nuts Cracker's exploding head saying, "Get ready for-a big surprise!" is a straight-up rip of the scene in the original "Total Recall." BRILLIANT reuse of that line, I'm glad it happened!

BUT, how'd he escape any infringement lawsuits with all that during Working Designs' lifetime ? ;) Awfully nice of the movie industry to have ignored this sort of thing.
