You can get banned for posting porn or isos/roms, one-sided harassment of other members, pulling scams, being a spambot, or ignoring forum etiquette by going wildly off topic in every post, double posting, bumping your buy/sell/trade thread for no reason, etc. Generally speaking, these rules have to be broken repeatedly before banning occurs.

Getting banned isn't a common occurrence, thankfully. In the year and a half or so that I've been a mod, there's been two people banned for trying to pass off known reprinted stuff as originals, one banned for non-sensical raffle spamming, and one spambot booted*. Also, there's been two short term bans for people that didn't know how to behave.

* - There's been other spambots, but I've since decided it's better to delete them outright instead of banning.

I wasn't really aware of Ninja, all of my interactions were with Madboom via PM in response to a sales post he made on the forum. All I ended up buying from him was a Silent Debuggers. I have no idea if the label is a sparky or not, seems legit though. The sleeve was one of those textured ones, I didn't think that was original but I don't really care about that since I bought some seymour onion ones and replaced a bunch of mine anyway. He wasn't doing repro manuals, also, was he?

I got a nice copy of Neo Nectaris from Dr. OJ, everything seemed legit and it was only like $20 bucks new and sealed. Galam was fine to me, I think he just got in some kind of pissing match and either left out of embarrassment or anger... Shame, I think it could have blown over.

It's curved, I also noticed it's got some normal age wear too. Looks good though! Way better than my Parasol Stars I've had since 1991 or whenever it was. It's crumbling off! Saddens me as it was one of my favorites. I have been through a couple floods though, and while my games didn't get wet, I bet moisture in the air had something to do with it.

Thanks for letting me know the method to tell the difference with your labels, though. Is that the case for all the colored labels? Is there a way to tell the orange labels apart? I plan to get a some from you for my loosies one day in the distant future, btw.. gonna be house poor soon though so I don't know when. Same goes for the repro cases from PCEFX.

Joe actually did ban RegalSin. Heh. It was a bit after he made that later deleted thread telling us the police raided his home and took computers because, in his words, he kept "downloading and downloading and downloading" presumably photos/videos of underage girls, etc. He implied he was getting his pedo freak on if any of that was to be believed.

TBH, it seems as if you plan to drag messy Neo-Geo.com forum drama to our doorstep. You clearly are not here to talk Turbo or PCE. Drama from your end would not be appreciated, and if it was my decision, based upon what you have said so far, I'd just auto ban you to avoid any potential issues because it looks like that is where you are headed.

This shit does not concern us unless it is scammer/fraud related and they are ripping people off on one of the forums. Whatever this member did, did they do it on the Neo forums? Or are you saying they did some scams here, and you are concerned about what they may do on the Neo forums down the road?

Either way, I am sure this is a matter you could handle privately on the Neo forums, or via a pm to our admin or mods. You don't need to drag our forum into it in threads. If the person is a scammer here, I am sure they have already been dealt with. We take care of our own shit here. If they are a known scammer on the Neo forums, but not here, then you could just drop our admin or moderator a pm with a detailed explanation of your concerns and let them handle it the way they see fit.

If you are here with a personal axe to grind against some other Neo member who post here, then forget it, just leave. We are not interested. This kind of shit does not concern us, and many of us will just side with the other guy out of principle alone. Your issues with some random Neo member are your own, and you have the Neo forums to handle said issues, either publicly or privately, however you see fit there. We have plenty of members here that are members on the Neo forums also, and they manage to not drag their Neo forum crap onto our forums just fine.

Outside of the above, since you made the comment about our community being "boring". TBH we consider ourselves to be a somewhat smaller, but classier forum. Yes, we are a smaller and more exclusive community, keeping ourselves mostly private. Yes, we are more civilized, and we tend to appreciate multiple systems and not just focus on one system that only offered quick play titles.

And on to the subject of Turbo/PCE versus NeoGeo. Yes, our system has a larger quantity of better quality games then your favorite LOL"24-bitter" does, and a much larger library of cooler games with more stay power. And yes, our fav system here outsold the Neo across multiple continents. Yes, our system did not need to be advertised using a hotdog comparison ad. We got more shooters, rpgs, action games, sports titles, platformers, etc.

How I feel about this entire situation, your forum compared to ours, and how the Neo maintains such a high number of ignorant fanatics, let alone SNK's losing position since it barely even qualified as a niche system during the console wars, well how I feel is very similar to what Webster ranted to the German soldiers after they lost WW II.

SNK lost the console wars to everyone else on all continents. NEC, Nintendo, and Sega did not even have to combine their efforts to crush SNK. SNK destroyed itself. Evidently someone forgot to inform the Neo forums of this. We tend to appreciate everything most all the consoles had to offer in one way or another, not just the PCE. All the while most of you die hard Neo guys seem caught up on egotistical shit over a system that was caught up regurgitating up multiple revisions of the same few games over and over again near the end of its life span, and tend to drag this ego drama over multiple forums.

A system with a library of titles, most of which can all be beaten in 20 mins or less is nothing to brag about. A system with games set at ridiculous prices, all while being managed by a company that was inadvertently working towards the general collapse of the arcade market as a whole, until SNK finally imploded and came back as a pussy whipped SNK Playmore is yet still nothing to go bragging about....

Thats the real legacy of the NeoGeo and SNK. Forget all the awesome games they created in the 80's and very early 90's. What they should be remembered for is helping to influence the collapse of the North American arcade scene with too many fighters and weak Metal Slug follow ups, while maintaining a home console base with sale numbers so laughable that even Atari Corporation considered them a non-threat during the 90's.

In a console wars situation, nothing on the NeoGeo can equal Dracula X, Winds of Thunder, Ys, etc, let alone match titles on Snes or MD/Genesis like Super Mario World, Castlevania 4, Actraiser, Super Metroid, Chronotrigger, Bare Knuckle 2, Strider, Shining Force II, Phantasy Star II etc.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the Neo. There is some pretty good stuff on there good for some quick play in short burst. But seriously, the console wars are over. The Neo lost on every front in the end and helped kill its own arcade market. It was left with games that can keep your attention for only 10-20 mins at a time barely, if you don't beat them first that is.

Seriously Rot. Its time to OBEY. Break free from the cold dead grasp of the soulless Neo and its vile forum drama, and go towards the soft warm bosom of love that is the PCE. It is time to suckle on the tit of variety that the PCE and its community has to offer you. Go forth and nourish yourself on some Air Zonk, Cosmic Fantasy II, or Dracula X.
