Yeah, when I found the cables at monoprice about 1-2yrs ago I bought 6 of them. One from the console to the Duotap, then one from each port to each controller.

It was nice sitting on the couch for a change to play some Bomberman with my brothers and friends when I got them.

Yep, this is where I read it before. I have one of the original units, and you're right, I'm not sure which revision it is. In my move it's sure to turn up so I'll get it out then and check. I want the cheapest route to playing real GB carts on a TV, so even though I would like a Super Famicom, and I agree they are a lot nicer looking than the SNES (mine was blessed with just the bottom part of the casing that turned brown, so it's only half fugly), in all likely hood I will probably try to make the SNES I have work. You can also simply take it apart and remove the tray with the tabs, or you can nicely cut them while not attached to the mb.

That's an idea too. I think I might try to clean the yellowed bottom sometime, so I might just take it apart anyway.

I wouldn't count on that. I recently shipped a statue via GSP and it arrived slightly damaged due to shipping. The buyer filed for a refund, even though i don't offer refunds on collectibles and vintage stuff. ebay/paypal immediately rips the cash from my account and then asks for me to answer some questions. then they say if it is damaged in shipping to let them know. i did so, and the didn't give a sh!t. got an email stating they "sided with the buyer" and that i had to refund his money, plus pay for the return shipping!
Ebay is all about the buyers, not the sellers.
Damn, just read this. That sucks man. I was always under the belief that if the item got to ebay fine you were absolved of later damage but I guess not. Were you unable to show pictures that it was fine shape before or something? Hope it didn't hit you too bad.

Nope, even after pics of the item before and after damage, and pics of the busted box, ebay still f'd me. Luckily the buyer was nice about it and we worked out a deal, but i still lost like $25 in the end. Oh well.....

I went to a used game shop in Austin a bit ago and they had many in case copies of Kieth Courage. They were $2 and I figured "$2 is worth an original case" so I picked them up. I checked just now, and one actually had a tab in it. I took the sticker off and don't recall doing that for any other games so apparently some copies have said tab.

Is it an original orange sticker on the case? Not a repro sticker?

My perspective may be skewed with my own early TG-16 anecdotes...but I've only seen no-tab Keith Courage jewel cases.

Then again, it doesn't make any sense for someone to "repro" a Keith Courage...so I guess I must be wrong.

Yeah, I'm 90% sure all Keith cases are the same as PCE ones, it was only later US titles that came with the little clear holder tab thingy.

The PCE cases had little foam pieces. The actual case for Keith Courage/PCE games is a much better case than the standard Turbo case with the clip. The PCE case mold was actually made for the case and the quality of the part shows it: no mold marks on the inside and a nice texture on the back. The Turbo case mold was a recycled standard CD jewel case that was repurposed to make the Turbo cases. You can see this where the raised pieces that hold the card in place were machined in after the fact and how the back of the case is smooth and shiny like a normal jewel case finish would be. It was always odd to me that NEC spent all that money to retool the hucard case just for the Turbo market.

I was looking for an Intellivision game on eBay which recently sold for $65 CIB. All the current CIB copies are super overpriced, but there was one loose incomplete copy for $45. It was an auction only and I didn't bid because it's overpriced and described as kinda working.

I just saw that after it failed to sell, the seller immediately relisted it for $60.

I wonder how high it will get as they continue to relist it for more?

I always wonder about those auctions with a number of sold. Seems like it might behoove some less than honest seller to simply sell a couple to himself to make it seem like that's a reasonable going rate.

Interesting. And some people like to say "resellers" do not directly affect the inflated cost of games.

I say of course they do as they set the price point. It's only a matter of waiting to see if a buyer accepts that price point as the new standered.

$30 dollar game. Sells all day every day for $30.

Reseller goes and puts his stock of the game at $60.

People buy it. Other resellers see the price has shifted to $60.

$60 becomes the new price for that game.

Until someone somewhere thinks. Hey. Why not $75?

Strange that there are a couple of other copies, one of which CIC, that are far less money than this one. I've bought from this seller before and their prices were pretty good (Devils Crush and Alien Crush) so this is sad to see.

If you were to filter out the sold listing for auction only listing, they will always go for less. Some sellers may be only looking at the highest sold listing and checking the current listing to undercut if needed while still much higher than true average market price.

Pretty much standard: $150 for used one with battery cover and weak sound but works or $200 for recapped and working one. Don't pay for more than $250 including shipping because it's more into gouging territory.

Original box adds extra. LCD mod is a hit or miss, some people prefer original intact model and some wants bigger, better LCD for playing but properly done 3.5" LCD mod should be good for quite a fair amount.

Good to know. The cheapest one currently is $250 but the sound is weak and would need work.

Shot a offer of $150 and the seller said he could only take off $10 as he was the cheapest available.

I was in the mind to decline by wanted to chef with the experts.

It's not worth $900, especially since the system needs repair, but at least the PC-FX bundle includes three of the library's priciest titles and not just a bunch of cheap, common stuff.
