Agree to disagree. In seeing the apology, you could reasonably discern the sender didn't want you to receive that additional email, there was a technical issue or whatever, which is why it was there. At that point, he had other non-drama queen options to email Aaron right back, PM him here, mark the address with his SPAM button until he got a clear explanation, etc.

It didn't justify his public outcry with this thread here, creating the generalization the system was out of control, posting in the Henshin Engine thread with his "Enough is enough!" whining, and threatening to pull his pledge in frustration! If he had 5, 10+ emails, sure, not over 3 (only in his particular case as a mod) where the last one had an apology! No, Joe *WANTED* to embarrass somebody publicly, starting with Aaron as he reasonably could assume it was an action he authorized.

In my subjective opinion, he came off as "How dare you violate my email account 3 times, don't you know who I am, I'm Game Sack Joe!" Nobody has to agree with me there, but that's what he looks like to me and I'll never look at another Game Sack episode the same way after his stunt here!

Of course, Joe has also trash-talked this forum behind its back, says it doesn't need moderation because our "posse" does a good enough job chasing people off (take a guess who he's referring to) and that also factored into this IMO.

LET IT BE RESOLVED: This is fundamentally a minor issue, dare I even say *moot*, because I think we all see that mass mailing folks who haven't consented has stirred up some controversy and, *as adults* we can move on from this and not endure a Cold War over trivial shite

PERSONALLY, I DON'T FIND COMPELLING EVIDENCE and/or a PERSUASIVE ARGUMENT TO CONVINCE ME THAT Nightwolve or Joe or NecroPhile did anything wrong. THAT IS CORRECT—nobody did anything that warrants condemnation. What I *did* witness is an awkward/contentious debate...which is fine. We need to discuss "edge cases" (like the mass mailing, mod abuse, DoxPhile's irrelevance) to help clarify why we have certain policies in the first place. An argument is fine, if it helps us.

FOR THE RECORD: Our forum rules cannot, should not and will never be followed blindly. That WOULD BE the mark of idiocy—thankfully, we *thoughtfully* follow, discuss, debate and revise policies to comply with community needs. No set of rules/policies can competently cover *all* scenarios, past, present and future. This is a video game forum, not the Justice System. There are no *tragedies* if we make a few missteps on our TINY TG-16 FORUM. We have different interpretations of the roles (of moderators) and how they should fulfill their duties. That's OK. We will never achieve 100% consensus, nor should we worry about it.

Personally, I lean towards *flexibility* and *leniency* concerning the rules/mod's role. That might make me a horrible mod (inconsistency).

However, I respect how each mod performs his/her duties. Why? Because there is *no way in Hell* that I would like to do it. IT IS A THANKLESS JOB. IT ONLY GENERATES GRIEF. Both NW and NecroPhile are working, putting time and energy into maintaining our community, but that effort is forgotten when there is some drama.

I agree, but at the same time, it's an individual judgement call, and yours versus mine or anybody else's is gonna vary per situation, including the troll's.
