Played through the translated Saturn version. Recorded most of my gameplay. Played with the Stunner. Very enjoyable game. Highly recommended.

The stunner works very well. Considering it doesn't have a sync input like a guncon I was surprised at its accuracy.

Hot dang, first the Shining Force 3 trilogy, Dragon Force 2, and now this, so happy to have a modded Saturn.  =D>

I got to the final act on the PSX version and never finished the game.  I am super excited to play the Saturn version.  I remember playing the first act in Japanese with the stunner lol.

I want to thank the translation team for this great patch.  I was grateful we got the PSX one but always preferred the saturn version.

I've never noticed an increase in accuracy with the Guncon compared to the Stunner or Light Phaser. Not sure why it needs the composite video. Can it work without plugging that in?

I've not had any luck getting a Guncon working without the composite sync. I have noticed certain guncon games at times showed a crosshair where the gun was pointing on the screen ala a primative version of the wii remote sensor.

Groover

I just played through it with Sync on Luma cables. It worked great. Although it did also go through a gSCARTsw. I might try and play it again with the newer patch. I was using the light gun with no problems.

I finally got around to setting up the Guncon and did a quick video with my terrible phone camera showing off the crosshair with sync.

IIRC the point of the Guncon was to be different than the NES style gun, that it's, make the targets smaller so that missing is more likely. I don't think it's just sync, but I don't know how it actually works. At the time I assumed it used the composite connection as a comparator of some sort.

There was a pre-Guncon spec for PS guns but not many used it.

Well some of the games require such precision shots that a standard light gun would really be nearly impossible to be that accurate as some of the "VERY HARD" shots in point blank are probably limited to a few pixels.

And yeah, there was a Konami Justifier Lethal Enforcer gun, and there's a lot of other third party guns that try to mimmick one or both of the Playstation light gun standards.

Yeah, I have a big blue 3rd party one that is mainly used for Saturn but also works as a 1st gen PS gun. I think all I ever used it for was that one Working Designs game.

Elemental Gearbolt is worth owning a light gun for.
