I recently picked up a TurboDuo to replace my TG16. I have reached out to another forum member here for a new replacement hucard door/cover as mine is missing. But I am on the lookout for a replacement in good condition top shell for the TurboDuo.  Anyone happen to know where I can snag one or if someone has one they are willing to part with ? Thank you in advance. I have provided a link for what my current shell looks like:

lol no.  It was the photo the seller sent me of the TurboDuo. I have actually not received it in the mail yet... just trying to get ahead of the curve, so to speak

The cat or the console? lol,  its probably not as bad as it looks in the photo, but if I am able to get a replacement shell some day for a decent price that would be fantastic.  Wonder how difficult it would be to resurface the shell....

I hate to trouble you but is there a FB pcenginefx forum? I would love to reach out to him, thank you.

One thing I forgot to mention is that this console has had all the caps replaced and it has a new cd laser.

So, you have a PC Engine Duo, not a Turbo Duo btw.

Apologies, yes I should clarify the title, thank you.

If you find a new shell, don't throw the old one out. I'd love to try a car paint job on it, if nobody else needs it.

Oh I won't throw it out. I never do. Keeps those around for .... reasons.  But if I do get a shell, I can let you know.

Get a Mr clean magic eraser and go to town on that case. It will make it look 10x better. Try to use the whole sponge at once and swipe the casing going from right to left. If you go up and down the wipe marks will be more obvious later.

This does work so do it! Take it from someone who has done this on many DUOs with fantastic results.

Huh, I never considered that. I will give that a shot first, thank you

The Magic Eraser is a really tough abrasive, it can erase the texture off most plastics very easily.

It really matters how hard you push while using the eraser in my experience.  Doing it lightly a couple times can at least make it looks more consistent in general.

Just make sure you dont use the magic eraser on the "PC Engine DUO" lettering in the upper left. If you do it will remove the printing!

Keith knows his stuff! Id do that.

And Maybe....
After the magic eraser you might want to coat it with a warm blast of urine. Make sure you get all the sides and the bottom. The sterility of the urine on the plastic will create a protective coating like a car's clearcoat. Not to mention it will forever make it "Yours". If you run on empty during the first coat I heard cat urine also works. Repeat process as necessary.

And don't forget the turtle wax to give it that signature glossy look!

All joking aside the MR Clean magic eraser is the way to go. You can also go over the lettering in the top but just only do it maybe two or 3 times so you don't rub it off. Someone would have to scrub really hard to make the lettering come off. I've never had the lettering start to come off and I've done this many times. So just wipe it down like you are using a rag to wipe off your kitchen table and all will be fine. You may have to put a little pressure into it but not much. Also make sure to wipe it from Side to side Not Up and down.

The whitish powdery looking parts on your DUO might require more aggressive scrubbing. I had one recently with the same look on hand that required some harder scrubbing to remove all the splotchyness. Obviously start light and see how it goes first. The key is to go all the way across the entire system so as to make everything look even when done. So don't scrub harder or longer in certain areas than others.

Wipe the system off with a damp rag afterwards since the Magic Eraser can sometimes leaves a whitish film behind.

looks like  it was dirty and the uv light faded some of the system  there is a way to fix it  u whould need to use strong hydrogen peroxide bath and a shit load of uv b light for 24 hr   it whould make it look even and cleaner  gets same effect on snes systems when u use the gel type hydrogen peroxide unevenly

Do this if you want a white PCE Duo.

No - not on this coloured plastic.. A heat gun (or hair dryer) may revive the colour, but I have never tried it on a console...
