Hey all.

I've been to this site off and on for a very long time. I don't come back as often as I used to since, I've sold off all of my games, but still come back to read news now and then. I actually don't read the forums too much because I'll get the itch to get back into it and spend all my money, when it's probably not the best idea haha

Anyway I've made a video where I translated the volcanos to the open, game over and ending to CD Denjin, aka Super Air Zonk. It was fun to do and I hope you enjoy it. If response is good then I'll make more Turbo related ones.

You just single-handedly made me appreciate these songs. (My goal is to sing-along to a few brief moments of each song. Like... "CHANGE!")

In turn, I think there might be a spare nook or cranny in my heart for this damn game to occupy.

See—many of us feel that CD Denjin was an anticlimactic follow-up to the ridiculously charming HuCARD. So, I've always been dismissive of it.

It takes passionate manifestos and videos like yours to warm cold, cold, grey hearts.

FIRE!

YOU WILL MAKE MOAR.

please

:)

Please consider:
• Final Zone II (are the lyrics in the US versions basically the same as the Japanese lyrics? You don't have to make a video—but, can you post about similarities/differences?)

• DEKOBOKO DENSETSU (this song is annoying and corny, but I have always wondered if the lyrics were interesting or just STOOPID. This is another game I have dismissed, but, who knows? I should see if it is more fun now that my three kids and I can play it together).

• DEUX ZONED FINÁLE (Telenet)

• DAS ZWEII ZONE ULTOMATEN (Nihon Lasersoft)

Thanks! Nice video.

Pease consider Dynastic Hero.  I love the opening song....

Very nice video.  I like the fun you had with it.

I second Mr. Esteban le Grafx.  I'd love to see some of the more lighthearted PCE games songs done.
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)
BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere. You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

As you might notice, I really come from the WD school of translation. I hate straight translations that are stilted and don't sound natural but are the dead literal meaning. I really tried to match the syllables to give something in English that fits and can be sung best as possible. Also the lyrics are in the CD Denjin manual, so there's no mistakes on the JP side.

Sure! I was unaware of some of these but sure! I'll add it to the list. I'm actually planning something very big , non musical for the 30th birthday of PC engine but if these songs translate easily, I'll do em!

Now if I didn't have that pesky job in the way!

Capturing the spirit and trying to convey the context is a challenge.

If only all games included the lyrics, though.... that would make things so much easier.

I have an obscure section of a MotoRoader MC track that I was hoping folks could figure out (it was years ago), I have to find the old thread—maybe you could have a crack at it when you are on lunch break (just kidding).

Dekoboko's song is AWESOME. I used to air it in my car for the lulz.

I'd love to have it translated.

Well, my Game Over screen for Jungle Bros. does.....with me doing the singing! It turned out ok, thought about redoing it, but LC loved it as is.

I'm going to translate dekoboko and have it ready sometime in October. Yea it's a long wait but that's life when you aren't paid to do YouTube. It's a funny song and the ending song makes me laugh because it's so bubble era. Just a perfect time slip
