Okay, seriously, of all games.... Cratermaze?  I figured Hudson (or Nintendo, whoever is doing the releasing) was done with their crap game releases for the VC after Drop Off!  Bah, I have to say, I think it's obvious they aren't paying attention to our top 10 game lists or reviews and just releasing whatever.

Turbo D

Nintendo just wants to make the TurboGrafx-16 look bad  :x. They don't want it to become popular and have NEC release an awesome next-gen console and steal the market again.

Cratermaze is a bazillion times better than Drop Off Rock Crack.

I think they're trying to appeal to the "puzzle" crowd, but the TG-16 library on VC is certainly not going to WOW anyone.

I don't think Cratermaze was a bad choice, but I was surprised as hell to see god damn Drop Off on the list awhile ago! I still think Drop Off is the worst game NEC ever brought out overseas and was just a stupid decision!

Yup. Drop Off should never have been released for VC, unless they had a special promotion one week called "We dare you to play  these games! You don't have the balls to deal with their sheer crappieness!"

I think it would be a great idea: "The worst of the worst". Have a bunch of horrible games for each system, accompanied by a humorous critique, and offer them at a greatly reduced price. Then, to make things interesting, have high-score (or completion time) contests.

The US NEC library is very very very small. Since they have no plans for PCE games (this is still the case, right?) then they have to pace themselves big-time, or they'll run out of TG-16 games before the end of the year.

CrackTiger

I think that they're just planning on releasing every TurboGrafx-16 game that they can(all but the Disney & Sega titles?).

And to do that, it wouldn't look good releasing them in order from best to worst.
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

I actually don't mind Drop Off so much, I played some more of it a couple months ago and managed to enjoy it just a little, but I still think it was a retarded game to bring out here as it only makes the system look bad.

Hah! Now that would be a lot of fun! Plus maybe I could actually use my extra 400 Wii points for something then!

I don't see how the USA NES library is small at all but anyways Hudson Entertainment did release Battle Load Runner on the VC which was a PCE game, so I'm hoping there will be more PCE support in the future.

I would put money on us seeing at least a few PCE games. We already got one: Battle Load Runner. My guess is they'll bring over any [good] PCE games that don't need any translation.

I just played through Motoroader II today and was noticing how there is not a single piece of Katakana to be found in the entire game. Not even the end credits are in Japanese. Motoroader II would be a fine VC candidate. It's damn good, too.

Battle Load Runner might've been released since TTI had planned on releasing it back in the day... and the whole non-translating aspect.

Since MotoRoader II was also on their release list for years, hopefully its a future candidate. [-o<

Dude, I asked you to sell me Motoroader II in another thread! Did I miss your response? Or have you ignored my request, hoping that I'd forget? IIRC, I even invited you over to my house for a Motoroader Marathon (I have Motoroader MC + original). Goddam! I don't have wireless controllers, but....

Anyway, who's gonna sell me MR II ?

Next time I'm visiting family in Connecticut, which should be in around 6 months or so, I'll swing by and take you up on that marathon offer. And don't worry-- I've got the wireless controllers.

Final Soldier is another Pc Engine game that is entirely in English, even the voice overs. And it was made by Hudson,so I don`t see any reason why that wont be released here. You would think they would release any Pc Engine game they wanted to.And there going to have to,because they are going to run out Turbo Grafx games after A while.

Keranu

Final Soldier was also one of the many games that was supposed to come out to America but never made it, so it's a very good choice indeed.

Unfortunately, no. There is a lot of speculation about some titles, but I can say with some certainty that Star Parodia, TV Sports Baseball (and maybe Battle Lode Runner) are likely to have made it over here.

Torgo (I believe) confirmed the first two were very close to release. I'm speculating on Battle Lode Runner.

Off the top of my head, Gradius 2, Macross 2036, World Heroes, & King of the Monsters 2 were really close, infact, of those, Macross 2036 is the only one I know wasn't completely finished(as it had a bunch of bugs near the end of the game, as I was told by Eun the last secretary of TTI).  The others were finished, but didn't come out for various reasons.

Hey looks like they are actually releasing some good games next month. There where A few other games. One called Discis Books,Dangerous Journey`s,and Rift War Saga.P D,do you have any any information on whether or not these games where near completion?

ParanoiaDragon

I'm pretty sure Discus was totally finished, but, I never asked her about it, since, it wasn't high priority for me.  If I could go back into time, I'd deffinitly ask her now, since, it never came out, & I'd want it for collection purposes.  I don't remember asking her about Dangerous Journeys(Dimensions), so, I can't really comment on that.  I've seen a couple of pictures, but, some have theorized that they were mock up's, rather then actual screenshots.

Riftwar Saga, looked really cool IMHO, but, I have no idea how far along it was.  I suspect it was pretty far along, but, why it got cancelled is beyond me.  One of my old friends, who I've lost contact with, year ago was telling me, that his friend's dad was working on some kind of hack n' slash for Turbo, that didn't get relased, & I forget why, but I think there was some major bugs.  My friend got to play whatever was finished of the game, & said it was really cool.  It's always possible, that it was Riftwar Saga he was playing, but, he didn't remember the name of the game.  I wish, the very last time I saw him, when he told me about this, that I had pulled out my EGM with pictures of it, to see if Riftwar looked familiar to him.

I envy you paranoia, back in the day I bought nearly every US Turbochip and TurboCD game but never had the nuts to go visit the TTi headquarters.  I didnt live that far from Marina Del Ray either I just never thought to go down there.  Must of been good times chatting with the secretary.

ParanoiaDragon

Actually, this was all over the phone....with the exception of the one time Eun drove out to my house just to meet me, & gave me some free games n' stuff.  IIRC, I wasn't driving yet, as I didn't start driving till I was 18, & I think this all happened when I was 16 or 17.  I could be wrong though :-k  After TTI closed up, she disapeared, don't know what happened to her.  I know she did kind of get mad when I called her house, & her husband picked up, & wondered who I was, & she got flak for that.  It's actually all quite strange, maybe she didn't have alot of close friends?

Come to think of it.  In 1993 I was about 15 years old so I wasnt driving either.  It wasnt until TTI closed its doors that I started driving.

Talk about top quality customer service where the secretary delivers free games to people who call in.  Or maybe she only did it for you and was looking for a fling with a youngster :-"?

ParanoiaDragon

You know, back then, I would've have thought so, but in hindsite, it's a little wierd.  I mean, it started with me calling TTI alot, asking questions of various games(I would leave messages on their anwer machine) & everyone there got to kind of know me & thought I was cool, or atleast that's what Eun said.  Anyways, she even sent me some pictures of her at one point, ...........I'm not sure what to think.  I know she is 5 years older then me & one guy at TZD I talked to, & asked if he knew her, said he had heard she had an affair, & her husband divorced her. :-k  Granted that was just heresay, but, I wonder if she was looking for extra-marital material

I really love these stories, PD :D . I remember asking you if she had the hots for you before too, great stuff  ! But yeah, that is really weird how she sent you pictures of her and eventually drove to your house just to give you some games. The divorce thing just really adds up to the suspicion!

You mean to tell me she was only about 19 right out of high school.  That would make her about 35 right now.  Usually teenage girls look up to older men in there 20's but hell thats just a stereotype.  Still the fact that she gave a picture of herself to you and drove to your freekin house implies she had some sort of feelings toward you.
